Steel industry which has been accomplishes the base of our country economy, automobile and electronic industry are taking charge of the role, whose electroplating is important. Large amount of wastewater and various metal salts, including hazardous materials was generated from the electroplating pre-treatment, plating, washing and post-plating. Currently, the general wastewater follows in the environmental law and neutralization after controlling, sludge where the various metal is mixed reclaims below multiple regulative and trust it is controlling. The sludge which includes the gas price metal reclaims in the field and trust it controls. a reclamation price of land it is insufficient but and the control expense holds plentifully and it loses the gas price metal which is valuable. Consequently, The research regarding to recover a gas price metal actively from this waste water, it is advanced. A new method to recover valuable metals from electroplating wastewater synthesis of metal sulfides using topical methods utilizing iron oxidizing bacteria, reagent of sulfides and solvent extraction using an organic solvent, such as the development of the law to recover these metals and metal sulfides of wastewater using selective recovery have been studied. By using these wastewater treatment method under frequency above 95%, it has been obtained the valuable metal from the wastewater, where the metal ion of Fe, Cu, Zn and Ni complexes was mixed. As we discuss the wastewater, which has been discharged from electroplating process, it is important and will be applied to the resources of metal in the urban mine.

It has been known that there are large amount of nitric acid and valuable metals, copper in the plating waste solution of automobile wheel. As nitric acid and valuable metals are high price and toxic, they should be recovered for economics and environment. Plating waste was extracted with TBP diluted with kerosene. The concentration of nitric acid in aqueous phase was analyzed by titration method by NaOH solution (0.1~1.0N) and the amount of metals by ICP-MS and ICP-AES. The concentration of copper in plating waste were 76,850 mg/L. The concentration of nitric acid in plating waste was 1.02 M. After three step extraction was performed with 50% TBP, each organic phase was stripped three times with distilled water to obtain 48.1% of nitric acid. Purity of final nitric acid was over 99.9% by ICP analysis. After recovery of nitric acid, copper was extracted with various solvent extractors like PC 88A, D2EPHA, LIX 84 and ISE 106. Among these extractors, 92% of copper was recovered by ISE 106 after 1st extraction and 30% $H_2SO_4$ stripping. Copper ion was reduced with $N_2H_4$ to make metal powders, respectively.

GC/MS has been utilized for many applications due to great resolution and reproducibility, which made it possible to build up the database of mass spectrum, while HS-SPME has the advantage of solventfree extraction of volatile compounds. The combination of these two methods, HS-SPME GC/MS, enabled many scientific applications with various possibilities. In this study, the analysis of trail pheromone excreted from live Camponotus japonicus with the feature of solvent-free extraction was carried out and the optimization for this analysis was performed. The major compounds detected were n-decane, n-undecane, and n-tridecane. Optimization for the best detection of these hydrocarbons was processed in the point of SPME parameter (selection of fiber, extraction temperature, extraction time, etc.). The advantage of the analysis of live sample is to analyze phenomenon right after it is excreted by ants. But the experimental process has restriction of extraction temperature and time because of the analysis of live ants. Establishing the process of HS-SPME GC/MS applied to live samples shown in this study can be a breakthrough for the ecofriendly and ethical research of live things.
Phospholipids were recovered from squid viscera residues by ethanol extraction after supercritical carbon dioxide($SCO_2$) extraction and from squid viscera was not processed $SCO_2$ by various organic solvent extraction. $SCO_2$ extraction were performed at $45^{\circ}C$ and 20 MPa for removal of non polar lipid molecules from freeze dried squid viscera sample. Phospholipids were extracted from freeze dried squid viscera sample by chloroform, hexane, methanol, and ethanol and from $SCO_2$extracted squid viscera sample by ethanol. The pH was fixed at 5.7 for all phospholipids extraction conditions. Phospholipid classes were analyzed by HPLC equipped with evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). Phosphatidyl choline(PC) extracted by ethanol from $SCO_2$ extracted residues was higher than that of extracted by ethanol from squid viscera. But phosphatidyl ethanolamine(PE) and phosphatidic acid(PA) were extracted higher percentage in raw squid viscera. The fatty acid compositions in phospholipids extract by ethanol extract from $SCO_2$ extracted residues were analyzed by gas chromatography(GC). Docosahexanoic acid(DHA) was found in highest percentage in phospholipid extract.
Basic studies for the effective extraction of ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(APDC) complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) into a solvent have been performed. The maximum distribution ratio was appeared (log D=1.3543) at pH 2.0 and the partition coefficient was 2.489 in the extraction of $4{\times}10^{-5}M$ APDC itself into chloroform. From the UV/visible spectra of metal-chelates in aqueous and organic solutions, the pH to form stable 1:2 metal-ligand complexes were Co(II):5.0, Ni(II):8.0 and Cu(II):8.0, respectively and only 1 minute was enough to be partitioned into the chloroform. Besides, the partition and extraction equilibria of the complexes were investigated by back-extracting $10.0{\mu}g/ml$ metal-chelates from the solvent into an aqueous solution beacuse of their slight solubilities in the aqueous solution. The distribution coefficients and extractabilities were as follows : at pH 6.5~8.5 of the aqueous solution, log D=2.834 : E(%)=99.9% for $Co(PDC)_2$, at pH 11, log D=5.699 E%=100 for $Ni( PDC)_2$, and at pH 6.0, log D=2.025 : E(%)=99.1% for $Cu(PDC)_2$. And the extraction and formation constants were log $K_{ex}=9.671$ : log ${\beta}_2=6.938$ for $Co(PDC)_2$, log $K_{ex}=9.646$ : log ${\beta}_2=7.071$ for $Ni( PDC)_2$, and log $K_{ex}=9.074$ : log ${\beta}_2=7.049$ for $Cu(PDC)_2$, respectively. From these results, an optimum extraction procedure can be constructed for the separative concentration of trace metallic ions, and the quantitative determination of them in advanced materials and environmental samples will be expected without any influence of sample matrixes.

Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) has been a promising technology to reduce the air pollution caused by nitrogen oxides (NOx) in several industries. The consumption of SCR catalysts increases every year as technology evolves, however those have a limited lifespan and usually end up in landfills after they deactivate. Currently, the most widely used catalyst for and stationary applications is V2O5-WO3/TiO2 which can contain around 50% wt V2O5 and 7-10% wt of WO3. The vast uses for both vanadium and tungsten and the worldwide interest in recycling methods that allow for the extraction of metals from secondary sources represent the major motivation for this research. The extraction time, pH dependency, extraction concentration studies were carried out using Aliquat 336 in exxol D80 as the extractant. It was determined that to optimize the extraction of both metals 30min of contact time with an organic phase containing 0.5mol/L of Aliquat 336 are needed at a slightly acidic pH (~5.0). In addition, counter McCabe-Thiele studies allowed us to determine that one stage is necessary for the removal of 99% of vanadium while 2 stages are necessary for the extraction of tungsten and counter current simulations proved that the theoretical approach was correct.
The volatile organic compounds emitted from food wrapping films when it was used at high temperatures. However, the testing method based on solvent extraction may not be suitable for determination of volatile organic compounds from food wrapping films. Therefore, thermal extraction device was investigated in the study for reflection of actual usage conditions at home and restaurant. In this study, PVC food wrapping films were exposed to normal use condition controlled from $50^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ and collected on sorbent trap. Then, emitted VOCs from the films were analyzed with On-column cryofocusing-GC/MS system. The major VOCs emitted from films were $C_{12}-C_{18}$ paraffinic hydrocarbons, dimethylphthalate, alkylphenols, known as endocrine disrupting chemical, such as tetramethylbutylphenol, tert-butylphenol, and nonylphenol. The concentration of tetramethylbutylphenol emitted from PVC films was $0.07ng/cm^2$ at $50^{\circ}C$, rapidly increased with temperature, $3.94ng/cm^2$ at $100^{\circ}C$.
Asadisulphide were purified from Ferrula assafoetida by organic solvent extraction and chromatography. Its inhibitory effects on the TPA-induced adherence of HL-60 cells was analyzed. Since ethyl acetate extracts of F. assafoetida has the strongest inhibitory effect on adherence of HL-60 cells, it was re-extracted with ethyl acetate, hexane, and ethyl ether and chromatographed three times to isolate asadisulphide. At the minimum concentration of 2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, asadisulphide inhibited adherence of 98% of HL-60 cells that have been treated with TPA. It also showed anti-cancer effect with no cytotoxity in the ED$_{50}$ value of 20 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml.
In this study, gas chromatographic analysis was carried out on volatile constituents of cooked squid for the object of obtaining information on the characteristic flavor of the cooked squid meat. The results obtained are as follows: 1) Methanol was the most effective solvent for the extraction of volatile constituents of squid meat. 2) Twenty five and thirty two peaks were detected from the condensate collected in cold traps which were immersed in ice water and dry ice-acetone, respectively. In these compounds, five kinds of volatile organic acids such as acetic acid, butyric acid, iso-valeric acid, valeric acid, and caproic acid were identified. 3) Eleven peaks were detected from the head space vapor collected in cold trap which is immersed in liquid nitrogen. Volatile amines identified in these components are as follows; methylamine, trimethylamine, dimethylamine, ethylamine, and iso-propylamine.
Asadisulphide were purified from Ferrula assafoetida by organic solvent extraction and chromatography. Since ethyl acetate extracts of F. assafoetida has the strongest inhibitory effects on adherence of HL-60 cells, it was reextracted with ethyl acetate, hexane, and ethyl ether and chromatographed three times to isolate asadisulphide. HL-60 cells were grouped into untreated control, TPA-treated, asadisulphide-teated and TPA+asadisulphide-treated groups, and structural changes of these cells were observed using light microscope, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope to examine the inhibitory effects of asadisulfide on the TPA-induced adherence of HL-60 cells. Light microscopic observations showed that asadisulphide has inhibitory effects on the cell aggregation, extention of cytoplasmic processes and inhibition of substrate adhesion of HL-60 cells. Using scanning and transmission electron microscope, it was observed that cell surfaces and several ultrastructures of TPA-treated HL-60 cell were different from control group, while there were no remarkable differences between asadisulphide-treated and TPA+asadisulphide-treated group. These results could suggest that asadisulphide has the inhibitory effects on the TPA-induced structural changes of HL-60 cells.
