The Design and Synthesis of 1,4-Substituted Piperazine Derivatives as Triple Reuptake Inhibitors

  • Novel 1,4-substituted piperazine derivatives 5, Series A and B were designed by fragment analysis and molecular modification of 4 selected piperazine-containing compounds which possess antidepressant activity. We synthesized new 39 analogues of Series A and 10 compounds of Series B, respectively. The antidepressant screening against DA, NE, and serotonin neurotransmitter uptake inhibition was carried out using the Neurotransmitter Transporter Uptake Assay Kit. The compounds in Series B showed relatively higher reuptake inhibitory activity for SERT, NET, and DAT than those in Series A. The length of spacer between the central piperazine core and the terminal phenyl ring substituted at the piperazine ring in Series B seems to exert an important role in the activity.

Coloration approaches on sheath/core type nylon fibers having PCM particles

  • Thermo-regulated textiles have been attracted more attention in medical textile application areas. Phase change materials, namely PCM, are substance with a high hear of fusion and can absorb a lot of energy before melting, which make the temperature remain constant during the phase changes. Herein, using nylon fibers having different PCM content were dyed and characterized to determine the coloration properties with PCM content ratio. The corresponding findings were discussed.

  • To identify a non-acylguanidine NHE-1 inhibitor, an acylguanidne group was replaced with an imidazole group in the potent NHE-1 inhibitors with furan or benzothiphene core template, found from our previous studies. We synthesized and biologically evaluated 4-heteroaryl-2-amino-5-methylimidazole derivatives. All those imidazole compounds (16-18) represented the potent NHE-1 inhibitory activities, similar to the corresponding acylguanidine compounds.

  • A modified synthetic approach to the synthesis of heterocyclic food mutagens, 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine (PHIP) and 2-amino-1,6-dimethylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine (DMIP) is reported. This route highlights an optimized palladium catalysed Buchwald cross-coupling of 2-halo-1-methyl-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine with benzophenoneimine followed by acidic hydrolysis to yield compound 7. Using finely tailored conditions, Suzuki cross-coupling reactions with highly efficient catalytic systems were performed as the final step on 8 to introduce the aryl group and methyl group on the heterocyclic core.

수확시기에 따른 '원황' 배 과실의 품질과 과심갈변에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Harvest Date on Fruit Quality and Core Breakdown of 'Wonhwang' Pears)

  • 본 시험은 GA로 처리된 '원황' 배(Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai)를 수확시기를 달리하였을 때 과실품질, 과심갈변, 그리고 기호도가 어떠한 영향을 받는지와 이에 적절한 수확시기를 규명하고자 수행되었다. 시험 처리는 만개 후 110, 115, 120, 125, 130일에 수확한 것을 포함하였다. 수확시기가 지연될수록 과중과 당도는 증가한 반면에 과육경도와 산도 그리고 전분함량은 감소하였다. 상온보관 21일 동안 만개 후 130일에 수확된 과실의 과육경도는 크게 감소하였고 과심갈변 증상은 심화된 반면에 115일에 수확된 과실의 경도와 과심갈변의 감소는 천천히 진행되었다. 수확시기의 지연은 GA 처리와 상관없이 과실의 기호도를 감소시켰다. GA 처리과의 기호도 감소는 수확시기에 관계없이 GA 무처리 과실 보다 일찍 관찰되었다. 만개 후 120일에 수확을 하는 것이 GA로 처리된 과실의 품질 유지와 과심갈변 억제를 위하여 효과적인 수확시기로 판단된다.

Au/TiO2 core-shell 나노입자의 합성에 있어서 Au 나노입자의 분산특성에 미치는 Mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA)의 피복 효과 (The Effect of Mercaptoundecanoic Acid (MUA) Coating on Dispersion Property of Au Nanoparticles in Synthesis of Au/TiO2 Core-shell Nanoparticles)

  • Mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) has been used to enhance the dispersity of Au nanoparticles in organic solvent and the affinity between the Au nanoparticles surface and titanium dioxide shell in the synthesis of $Au/TiO_2$ core-shell composite nanoparticles. The dispersity of the MUA-coated Au nanoparticles in ethanol aqueous solution with different concentration of $H_2O$ was investigated by UV-Vis. absorption spectrum and the coating amount of MUA was varied from 0.02 mM to 1.0 mM. The MUA-coated Au nanoparticles were highly dispersed in pure $H_2O$ in the wide range of the coating amount of MUA. On the contrary, the MUAcoated Au nanoparticles showed an enhanced stability in the ethanol/$H_2O$=8/2 mixed solution only when the coating amount of MUA was 0.05 mM, and in the ethanol/$H_2O$=7/3 mixed solution when the coating amount of MUA was in the range from 0.02 mM to 0.17 mM. From this systematic study, it can be inferred that the stability and the dispersibility of Au nanoparticles in organic solvents are highly sensitive towards the amount of MUA coating.

ODP Leg 204 Site 1249C와 Site 1251B 퇴적물의 유기물 기원 및 지화학적 특성 (The Characteristic and Origin of Organic Matter in the ODP Leg 204 Site 1249C and Site 1251B)

  • 오레곤 대륙 주변부 남부 하이드레이트 릿지에서 실시한 ODP Leg 204에서 회수한 코어 Site 1249C와 Site 1251B의 유기물 기원 및 유기지화학적 특성을 규명하기 위하여 원소분석과 Rock-Eval 열분석 및 동위원소 비 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 Site 1249C와 Site 1251B의 유기물은 해양기원 유기물이 우세하며 이러한 결과는 퇴적물의 퇴적당시 환경이 일반적인 해양 환경이었음을 시사한다. 그러나 Rock-Eval 열분석 결과는 다른 분석결과와 반대의 결과를 나타내는데 이러한 결과는 열적으로 미성숙한 유기물이 열분석 과정에서 유기물의 특성이 제대로 반영되지 못하기 때문이다. 따라서 열분석 결과 해석은 다양한 지화학적 결과를 종합하여 해석할 필요가 있다. 코어의 유기물 기원이 동일함에도 불구하고 Site 1249C는 전 구간에서 가스 하이드레이트의 집적이 높은 반면, Site 1251B는 가스 하이드레이트가 일부 구간에서만 소량 발견되었다. 이러한 결과는 하이드레이트 정상부에 위치한 Site 1249C는 가스 하이드레이트 생성에 필요한 심부 열기원 가스가 천부 퇴적물로 이동할 수 있는 이동 통로(Horizon A, BSR2)가 존재하는 것을 시사한다. 그러나 가스 하이드레이트 집적이 미비한 분지 지역의 Site 1251B는 열기원 가스가 심부로부터 이동할 수 있는 가스 이동 통로가 제한적이고 그에 따른 가스 공급이 원활하게 이루어지지 않기 때문에 현장 퇴적물의 속성작용에 의한 생물기원 가스가 우세하여 가스 하이드레이트 생성이 제한적인 것으로 추정된다.

Biguanide-Functionalized Fe3O4/SiO2 Magnetic Nanoparticles: An Efficient Heterogeneous Organosuperbase Catalyst for Various Organic Transformations in Aqueous Media

  • A novel biguanide-functionalized $Fe_3O_4/SiO_2$ magnetite nanoparticle with a core-shell structure was developed for utilization as a heterogeneous organosuperbase in chemical transformations. The structural, surface, and magnetic characteristics of the nanosized catalyst were investigated by various techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), elemental analyzer (EA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), $N_2$ adsorption-desorption (BET and BJH) and FT-IR. The biguanide-functionalized $Fe_3O_4/SiO_2$ nanoparticles showed a superpara-magnetic property with a saturation magnetization value of 46.7 emu/g, indicating great potential for application in magnetically separation technologies. In application point of view, the prepared catalyst was found to act as an efficient recoverable nanocatalyst in nitroaldol and domino Knoevenagel condensation/Michael addition/cyclization reactions in aqueous media under mild condition. Additionally, the catalyst was reused six times without significant degradation in catalytic activity and performance.

비스-카바졸 유기염료를 이용한 염료감응태양전지 (Organic Sensitizers based on Bis-carbazole for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells)

  • Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have received considerable attention as the most promising candidates for renewable energy systems in recent years. Among these, organic dyes which have many advantages such as large absorption coefficients, customized molecular design for desired photophysical and photochemical properties, inexpensiveness and environment-friendliness, are suitable as photosensitizers for DSSCs. We have studied on the design and synthesis of two organic dyes (BECZ 1 and BECZ 2) with a 9-ethyl-9H-carbazole core for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Two organic dyes comprised of two 9-ethyl-9H-carbazole moiety as electron-donor, two types of cyanoacrylic acid moiety acting as acceptor. In addition, n-ethyl unit introduced for increasing the solubility and the donating power. The obtained organic dyes were comprehensively characterized by NMR, GC-MS, FAB-MS and UV/Vis spectroscopies. DSSCs sensitized by the dyes BECZ1 and BECZ2 produced ${\eta}$ value 3.31% and a ${\eta}$ value 3.21%.

유기이차전지를 위한 Poly(Styrenesulfonate)-Carbon 복합 음극의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Poly(Styrenesulfonate)-Carbon Composite Anode for Organic Rechargeable Battery)

  • 본 연구에서는 고분자와 탄소 물질을 복합화시켜 친환경의 유기 음극을 제조하였다. Poly(styrenesulfonate)(PSS)-carbon 복합 음극은 탄소 입자를 PSS이 둘러싸고 있는 core-shell 형태를 보이며 $524mAh\;g^{-1}$의 이론용량과 0.6 V 이하의 낮은 전압을 가진다. PSS-carbon 복합 음극은 0.1, 0.5, 1, 10C에서 각각 용량 $519.6mAh\;g^{-1}$, $461.2mAh\;g^{-1}$, $411.8mAh\;g^{-1}$, $315.9mAh\;g^{-1}$의 첫 번째 방전 용량을 가지면 30사이클까지 안정적인 주기 특성을 보여준다. Polystyrene 구조와 sulfonate 기능 기를 갖는 PSS와의 탄소 복합 전극은 유기 이차전지의 전기화학적 특성을 향상 시키기 적합한 음극활 물질로 여겨 진다.
