  • [ $\lceil\;Cost Effectiveness Analysis\;\rfloor$ ] has been widely used to evaluate effectiveness of R&D resources. But, almost of cost effectiveness evaluation systems have some problems, especially estimating method of effect on R&D project is very rough and imprecise. To solve this problem, we have designed new single effect evaluation system, which are able to apply the distribution of order statistics and to transform relative measure into absolute measure for getting single effect.

  • In Cholesky factorization of the interior point method, dense columns of A matrix make dense Cholesky factor L regardless of sparsity of A matrix. We introduce a method to transform a primal problem to a dual problem in order to preserve the sparsity.

  • An extension of generalized linear multiple choice knapsack problem [1] is presented and an algorithm of order 0([n .n$_{max}$]$_{2}$) is developed by exploiting its extended properties, where n and n$_{max}$ denote the total number of variables and the cardinality of the largest multiple choice set, respectively. A numerical example is presented and computational aspects are discussed.sed.

  • In order to measure the shape deformation of seat surfaces, an indentation measurement mat was devised. The 50cm * 50 cm mat containing small polyethylene beads were made using two sheets of polyurethane film. The indentation measurement mat was shaped by vacuuming between the subject and the testing seat. This method showed less than 5mm of deformation measurement error. Deformation of CADILLAC and MAXIMA seats were compared to demonstrate usefulness of the new method.

  • This paper studies on physical strength measurement utilized for selecting military sportsmen. In order to estimate physical potential capability of a volunteer for a sportsmen, scores of physical strength factors are used and a regression model is developed. And then the results of this model and current physical strength measurement are compared. This paper shows that the model developed here is more effective than current measurement, since measurable physical strength factors are reduced and physical strength factors are quantified by comparing each other.

  • The generalized Erlang loss function, extensively studied in the literature, is revisited. We study the steady state loss probability in M/M/s/s + c queueing system and prove that it satisfies the first and second order properties in integral number of servers as well as integral queue capacities. Also we study the problem of allocating integral number of servers and queue capacities, and develop an algorithm to obtian an optimal allocation of them individually and jointly with the small number of computations.

  • In this study we propose a technology selection model, which captures technology seeds for new business area by a fuzzy structural modeling method and then, design a model, which evaluates the validity of New Business Development plans for the selected technology seeds with regard to the properties of manufacturing, product, market, and economy as well. Finally, a fuzzy inference system is designed in order to decide the degree of success of New Business Development plans based on the preceding validity evaluation.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of constructing a school timetable under consideration of subjects, teachers, classes, rooms, activity types and so on. The method gives an acceptable timetable which satisfies all dispensable requirements and different timetables also are obtained by changing the order of assignments. The resulting timetables are evaluated and compared by scoring scheme which can be modified by users. The results achieved using real data have been encouraging.

  • This paper considers the scheduling of cell-based handoffs to balance the traffic in a fiber-optic microcelluar system. In the system depending on the order of cell based handoff, periodical balancing of the traffic among microcells can be achieved. The cell based handoff problem is formulated as a dynamic programming and the computational complexity is analyzed. Since the scheduling problem requires real time solution, heuristic algorithms are proposed and the computational results are discussed.

  • In this paper, we deal with the model to reward researchers' performance. The rewards which disregarded the preference of researchers don't satisfy researchers, but cause, only conflicts. In order to increase the researchitivity by resolving these researchers' conflicts, we design a new model on the performance rewarding system. For this purpose, we investigate preference structure on the reward of researchers by the$\ulcorner$conjoint analysis$\lrcorner$. And we propose some reasonable and practical programs to reward performance on the basis of the investigation..
