Characteristics and Improvement of the Water Quality in Wangkung Reservoir (농업용 저수지의 수질특성과 수질개선 -왕궁저수지를 대상으로 -)

  • In spite of considerable advances in water quality control measures within lake, many basic questions concerning an eutrophication still remains unanswered and it becomes obvious that an extensive limnological database is needed for the inter-comparison between bodies of water and for the assessment of the status of lake water quality. In order to diagnose the water environment and assess the changes of the water quality, Wangkung irrigation reservoir was investigated by a long-term monitoring program for the physical, chemical and biological water quality parameters. In addition, these data was used to determine the design elements of natural purification facilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to test various variables that affect CRM performance in order to evaluate CRM performance. The results of the proposed research hypotheses are as follows; First, the IS based factors perform more important roles on system and information quality compared to organizational factors. Second, the variables of IS and planning capability playa role as a parameter. Third, among organizational factors, non-structural factors such as degrees of acceptance of business transition, support of CEO, and customer-orientation perform more important roles on CRM. Fourth, IS based factors have bigger Impact on information quality than system quality. Fifth, it was proven that IS quality, proposed as a parameter and as a dependant variable, and CRM have significant relations.

Adaptive Scanning Method for Fine Granularity Scalable Video Coding

  • One of the recent and most significant technical properties can be expressed as "digital convergence," which is helping lead the technical paradigm into a ubiquitous environment. As an initial trial of realizing a ubiquitous environment, the convergence between broadcasting and telecommunication fields is now on the way, where it is required to develop a scalable video coding scheme for one-source and multi-use media. Traditional scalable video coding schemes have, however, limitations for higher stable picture quality especially on the region of interest. Therefore, this paper introduces an adaptive scanning method especially designed for a higher regional-stable picture quality under a ubiquitous video coding environment, which can improve the subjective quality of the decoded video by most-preferentially encoding, transmitting, and decoding the top-priority image information of the region of interest. Thus, the video can be more clearly visible to users. From various simulation results, the proposed scanning method in this paper can achieve an improved subjective picture quality far better than the widely used raster scan order in conventional video coding schemes, especially on the region of interest, and without a significant loss of quality in the left-over region.

A Study on the Satisfaction Factors in PC Communication Service Users (PC통신서비스 이용자의 만족요인에 관한 연구)

  • This paper address the issues of satisfaction factors to measure the service quality in computer communication service users. In order to develope a satisfaction factors' model, we study appropriate quality factors of the service through the focus group interviews with service users, and surveys the quality levels that users have felt in services. It also analyzes the relationship between the user's quality level and the quality factors by the statistical analyses. Based on the optimal regression model, we suggest an appropriate satisfaction model in PC communication service areas. That model shows that most users are interested in the fare for use. Use-fare factor is the most powerful one to the satisfaction model. Second one is usefulness, next is correctness. But connect-status factor is the only negative one. Most users think that its factor is in the way of fluent communication. So to keep the competitiveness in the PC communication service, the sixth negative factor should be modified as soon as possible.

  • In accordance with the growing importance of software in computer systems, software quality and performance has become a hot issue in all computer-related fields and businesses. But the measurement and evaluation of software quality still poses a problem, due to the different viewpoints of software developers and users. This study attempts to combine the external characteristics of quality representing the viewpoint of users, and the internal characteristics representing the viewpoint of developers of quality. In order to do this, this study provides multiple models which select the appropriate internal characteristics which reflect user requirements from earlier phases of development. The goal of this study is to enhance the applicability of 40 internal characteristics of ISO 9126 to the models.

Quantitative Analysis of 20-hydroxyecdysone in Melandrii Herba (왕불류행 중 20-Hydroxyecdysone의 함량분석)

  • 20-Hydroxyecdysone was isolated from Melandrii Herba and identified by the spectroscopic methods. In order to evaluate the quality of it, quantitative determination of 20-hydroxyecdysone in Melandrii Herba using HPLC method has been conducted. Content of 20-hydroxyecdysone in Melandrii Herba showed average 0.0138% in 42 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

  • Sanguisorbae Radix has hemostatic, analgesic and astrigent properties and it has been used for the treatment of burns, scalds and internal hemorrhage. Ziyuglycoside I was isolated from Sanguisorbae Radix and identified by the spectroscopic methods. In order to evaluate the quality of it, quantitative determination of Ziyuglycoside I in Sanguisorbae Radix using HPLC method has been conducted. Quantitative analysis of Ziyuglycoside I showed average 3.005% in 30 samples collected throughout the regions of Korea.

  • This study proposes an optimal design for a robotic welding system for a high-strength steel armor plate. In order to identify the welding defect parameters, we analyzed the 4M (man, machine, materials, method) characteristics diagram, as well as a cause and effect matrix, to improve the productivity and quality of welding defects. From these analyses, we designed optimal welding conditions and carried out welding tests -- such as mechanical testing and macro structure tests - with positive results. We determined that it was possible to obtain a quality similar to manual welding with our robotic welding system. In the future, we expect that the system will be used as inspiration for future welding system designs.

  • In order to cope with the violent environment of surrounding enterprises, development of new products, advance to other industry field, unification or abolition of factories and rationlization of labor are needed. But production process being made quality and using process after shipment are the things that we have to think about, first of all and to practice always. Insurance problem of reliability, that is, the positive quality maintenance that has being presented many debate issues recently, will be studied. The accident of nuclear power-plant in America, in connection with reliability maintenance and human engineering, will be analyzed. But as its accident details is not announced, in this study, it is a sort of method of methodology to be studied this paper rather than studying the fact of the accident. Therefore this study will be done as follows, For reliability study. 1. Investigation of problems. 2. Quality maintenance activity and reliability maintenance activity 3. Reliability acquisition in production process, 4. Reliability maintenance after shipment. 5. Conclusion. In addition to stating above, it is sure that liberalization of trade, interchange between nations and strengthening of international competition ability, etc. need high quality. But possibility that quality maintenance or reliability aquisition needs understanding and cooperation of consumer, will be stated.

The Effect of Cognitive Gap on the Hotel Restaurant Performance (호텔.레스토랑의 서비스품질 인식 차이(Gap)와 경영성과 간의 상관성)

  • Up to these days, hotels are assumed to compete each other. Due to the spread of high quality the hotel restaurants have begun to face an intensive competition. Hotel food at Beverage have become the more competitive along with fund, good price, service, quality food, and management know-how. It causes the hotel restaurants confront with management difficulties. In order to overcome the management difficulties, hotel restaurants have to improve their marketing abilities and especially to improve their service quality. For this, it is necessary fur hotel restaurants to investigate how their service providers and receivers recognize their service quality. In this research, we examined the cognitive three types of cognitive gaps among customers, service providers, and managers both on the service quality and on the positioning of hotel restaurants. Their cognitive gaps proved negatively correlated with hotel's performance. This research suggests the following findings. Firstly, the competitiveness of hotel restaurant depends on the accurate communication and consensus among managers, service providers, and customers. Secondly, using the information about cognitive gaps recognized, each hotel restaurant should develop concrete marketing plans and strategies with a careful consideration about its current competitive position and management condition.
