AN ASSET MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT MODEL FOR STATE DOTs

  • In the past, many state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) in the U.S. managed their highway assets on a "worst first" basis and planned their highway projects in a tactical rather than strategic fashion. Due to increasingly tight highway budgets and recognition of long term benefits of asset management systems, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has strongly pushed and encouraged state DOTs to implement asset management for managing their highway assets and highway projects. Currently, many DOTs have actively implemented and are in the process of applying this asset management concept for their highway infrastructure. However, different DOTs are developing different asset management systems because of their different organizational structures, data management structures, relationship with the legislature, and investment priorities. This study first identifies asset management indicators which are essential to successfully implementing asset management systems for State highway assets. The research team conducted a survey of asset management experts and reviewed the practices and policies of leading DOTs in asset management. Based on these indicators, this study develops an Asset Management Assessment Model (AM2) for different asset management systems. This model can be used by different DOTs to evaluate their current asset management systems and identify their strong areas and also their weak areas to improve in order to fully benefit from the advanced concept of asset management.

건설안전전문가 설문조사를 활용한 현장중심의 안전관리비 제도 개선 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Industrial Safety and Health Management Cost Using the Survey of Construction Safety Experts)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 건설업에서의 사고·장애 예방을 위해 시행되고 있는 안전관리비 제도의 문제점과 개선방안 도출을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연구를 위하여 건설안전관리자 20명을 대상으로 세부 설문지를 개발하여 전문가집단인터뷰(FGI) 분석기법을 시행하고 분석하였다. 연구결과: 분석결과 '안전관리비 제도의 이해'를 위해 기준 매뉴얼 작성, 정기 현장교육 시행, 안전관리비 모니터링 시스템 구축 등의 대안이 도출되었고, '안전관리비 제도의 효율성과 필요성'을 개선하기 위해 이례상황 시 즉시 투입할 수 있도록 유연한 비용 집행의 자율성을 보장할 필요성이 있으며, 과도한 증빙서류 요구로 개선되어야 할 항목으로 분석되었다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 건설현장의 안전관리비 제도 개선을 위한 문제점을 인식하고, 건설안전관리자에 의한 개선방안을 정책적·제도적인틀속에서 마련되어야 할 것이다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a management model to effectively provide hospice service of nursing home. In a method of study to achieve this purpose, a positive research and literature study have been performed at the same time. Concerning contents to be examined as a definition of notions and patterns about hospice for the aged, foreign hospice and structural elements of hospice management, a literature study to support a theoretical background has presented leading studies as an analysis form of this study through analyzing domestic and foreign literature, thesis, journal and so on. In order to attain the purpose of this study, the positive research is to carry out a survey of demand and desire of people who have already got hospice service in the first place as a fact-finding survey related to the subject of hospice service, investigate organizations to operate nursing home and hospice and relevant experts in the second place as a survey of supply system to provide hospice service, and develop an appropriate management model to connect the demand and supply of nursing home through it. Therefore, this study has developed a delivery system and a chart of the practical trend to be done minutely, presenting a model to manage a hospice of nursing home based on the above results. The management model externally has connected medical team of hospital with hospice team of home based on a community, and internally is composed centering on five elements such as administrative organization, manpower, program and contents of service, finances. In practical model of hospice management of nursing home, in order to plan a program, provide service and give a high-quality service to the aged, this study has presented a trend chart of service management on the basis of five structural elements, an analysis form of this study. In conclusion, this study could present data to develop a hospice in the field of nursing home for the aged by showing a model concerning a hospice management of nursing home, but in my opinion, a following study to be detailed and developed even more than this study should be continued.

  • 건설 산업은 각 단계별 업무 프로세스의 분절 및 프로젝트 관리를 위한 다양한 소프트웨어 등이 업무 단위별로 상이함에 따라 단계별로 생성되는 다양한 데이터의 누락이 발생하며, 효과적인 공유 및 이를 활용한 신속한 의사결정 등에 한계를 보이고 있다. 또한 이로 인한 잦은 설계 변경 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 프로젝트에 참여하는 다양한 주체들 간의 협업 및 원활한 정보 공유의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 이와 같은 문제를 해결하귀 위하여 BIM(Building Information Mode1ing)으로 지칭되는 3D 기반의 정보 체계와 동시 공학(CE, Concurrent Engineering) 개념을 바탕으로 제조업 등에서 활발히 사용되고 있는 PLM(Product Life cycle Management) 시스템을 건설 산업 특성에 적합한 형태로 벤치마킹하여, 건설 프로젝트 통합의사결정 지원 체계(Construction Project Life-cycle Management) 구축을 위한 CPLM의 프로세스 모델 및 시나리오를 제시하고자 한다.

Correlation between Appearance Management Behaviors and Mental Health Level of Female University Students for U-mental Healthcare

  • It is a descriptive study for the relationship between appearance management behaviors and mental health of some female college students. We analyzes 433 self-administered questionnaires from March to June 2017 for female students who enrolled in three-year colleges in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, South Korea. The conclusion is as follows. We used IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0(SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) for the analysis by person's characteristics, t-test and one way ANOVA, multiple regression analyses. The second-year grade shows higher points than the first-year grade in appearance management behaviors and mental health level(p<0.001, p<0.05). In addition, when students has the higher level of the household as the humanities students, they have higher level of mental health level(p<0.001). The most influential factors affecting the mental health level of female college students are domestic economic level and cosmetic management behavioral factors. The level of mental health was higher in the middle and upper group of the domestic economic level. When they do more cosmetic management behavior, they have lower the mental health level. In conclusion, it is deemed necessary for students to attend intensive and sufficient counseling with an academic advisor. The continuous attention through school counseling management services depending on grade, domestic economy level, and cosmetic management behavior is necessary in order to enhance the level of mental health for female students. In addition to that, the college needs to develop individual customized psychology counseling and educational programs through U-mental healthcare service in order to lessen the great pressure of sensitive information and provide mental consultation. The college needs to consider students' characteristics and needs from the results of this study. It is considered that a smart mental healthcare program will be needed to identify mental health of the individual through the systematic approach.

  • Economy of Ukraine is characterized by the rapidly increased level of financial failures at a corporate level. Conditions of doing business in Ukraine become tighter year after year and it should motivate the business owners not only to watch more accurately the state in which their business is but also to introduce new, more precise, more tight systems of crisis management and economic security. The experience shows that in order to stay afloat and not to suffer losses companies should pay more attention to different areas of economic security, such as production potential, financial indicators, logistics, staff, etc. For this purpose companies should use a system of valuation of the most important for their activity indicators and transform their values in an integral one in order to use this assessment in making managerial decisions. Such a valuation is one of the components which the article presents. The article also reveals the key points which characterize crisis management as an integral part of enterprise development and economic security. There are specified the essence and problems of crisis management and proposed the ways of raising the level of economic security of a company based on the example of an industrial and commercial enterprise. The key focus of the enterprise's economic security management is defined as constructive responses to threats from the external environment and, as a result, ensuring stable functioning and effective realization of untapped potential in the future. The current assumption is to explain the scheme of strategic management of an industrial and commercial enterprise and to calculate the methodology of an express assessment of the level of enterprise economic security, taking into account the components of crisis management. To assess the level of economic security of the enterprise, it is proposed to use the method of point assessment, which is based on a multi-level system of indicators, which covers the main areas of the enterprise's activity.

프리셉터 간호사의 갈등관리 유형이 프리셉터 역할인식 및 핵심역량에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Preceptor Nurses' Conflict Management Type on Preceptor Role Recognition and Core Competency)

  • Purpose: The objectives of this study were to categorize the conflict management types of preceptor nurses and determine the effects of these types on preceptors' role perception and core competencies. Methods: Data was collected from 192 preceptor nurses with at least two years experiences in general hospitals, from July 1 to July 31, 2022. Conflict management type, preceptor role perception, and core competency were investigated using structured instruments. The data was analyzed using K-means cluster analysis, Independent samples t-test, One-way ANOVA with Scheffé's test, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The conflict management types were categorized into four types; comprehensive type (cluster 1), integrating, obliging, compromising type (cluster 2), undifferentiated type (cluster 3) and obliging, avoiding type (cluster 4). The effect of conflict management types on preceptors' role recognition occurred in the following order of cluster 2 (integrating/obliging/compromising type), cluster 1 (comprehensive type), and cluster 4 (obliging/avoiding type). Next, cluster 1 (comprehensive type), cluster 2 (integrating/obliging/compromising type), and cluster 4 (obliging/avoiding type) were shown in the order of the impact on the core competencies of the preceptor. Conclusion: When preceptor nurses use a mixture of various attributes of conflict management evenly, they have been shown to demonstrate effective preceptor role recognition and core competencies. Therefore, it is proposed that future development of conflict management training programs for preceptor nurses should begin with identifying their conflict management type, followed by creating a program that addresses any deficiencies.

물리보안기업의 전략적 인적자원관리가 조직유효성 및 기업성과에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Strategic Human Resource Management in Physical Security Companies on Organizational Effectiveness and Corporate Performance)

  • 본 연구는 물리보안기업에 근무하는 보안담당자를 대상으로 전략적 인적자원관리가 조직유효성 및 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 물리보안관련 기업에 종사하는 130여 보안담당자를 대상으로 2024년 4월 15부터 5월 17일까지 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문내용에서 변수를 "전략적 인적자원관리, 조직유효성, 기업성과"로 나누어 작성하였다. 분석결과, 연구가설 중에서 "전략적 인적자원관리 ⇨ 조직유효성, 조직유효성 ⇨ 기업성과, 전략적 인적자원관리 ⇨ 기업성과"이 모두 채택되었다. 보안기업의 성과를 높이기 위해서는 조직유효성을 향상시켜야 하고, 이를 위해 기업 내 전략적 인적자원관리를 개선시키기 위한 노력이 유지되어야 할 것이다. 향후 전략적 인적자원관리를 향상시키기 위해서는, 신입직원이 갖추어야할 직무기술에 관한 제반사항을 제시하고 현장에 투입되기 전 실무에 관한 훈련기회를 충분히 제공해 주어야 한다.

  • This paper is to review and organize performance strategies, issues, and measures for the efficient operation of order picking function. Order picking is the process of retrieving items from storage to meet a specific customer order, which is known to be the most labor-intensive and costly function among all the warehouse functions. This function is also important in that it has a critical impact on downstream customer service. For understanding the background of order picking and related performance issues, we will briefly introduce warehousing functions. Then we will introduce material handling within a warehouse and order picking strategies. Lastly, we will discuss about performance issues and measures in the domain of order picking operations. Productive and quality measures will be reviewed in more detail.

  • The Information System is now becoming a very important part of our livers. It encompasses technical and spactial characteristics that are much more different from the order information systems used up until now. Therefore, as various fields within the Information Center are researched, the proper usage of those fields must be well thought-out. This study presents the application of quality management systems in Library, Korea. The purpose of this study is to build a framework of improving the management system and planning and performing the service of high quality in Library. To achieve this goal, a theoretical approach was tried through the previous study and the performed with the subject of the 4 steps by Damming' quality management theory. This study may enable domestic organizations to draw up a concrete and practical plan in Library.
