The objective of this study was to examine whether there is an association of oral health conditions between mothers and their preschool children in Korea. A sample of 823 preschool children and their mothers were selected for this study from the database of the fourth Korean National Health and Nutrition examination Survey. Preschool children were defined as children aged 4, 5, and 6 years old. The subjects were clinically examined for the presence of caries lesions (dft index) and their mother was checked for the presence of dental caries (DMFT index) and periodontal status (CPI). The socio-demographic characteristics and mother's oral health behaviours were considered covariates in this study. Univariate and multivariate analysis was adapted to assess the association of oral health condition between mothers and their preschool children. In univariate analysis, there were significant differences between preschool children's dft index and their mother's age (p=0.005), dental treatment demand for the past one year (p=0.034), and DMFT index (p=0.016). In multivariate analysis, only mother's DMFT index was significantly associated with their children's dft index after adjusting for covariates. In conclusion, the mother's oral health was partly associated with their preschool children's oral health in Korea.
This study aims to identify the status of oral care of professional soldiers and analyze the relationship between oral care needs and oral health symptoms based on oral health recognition, thus providing an opportunity to create a system for improving oral health of professional soldiers. The study was conducted on a total of 232 military personnel aged 19 or older who were employed in the military. The questionnaire for this study was commissioned to respond by explaining the purpose of the study and how to respond to the survey by telephone with the selected sub-employer. The content included in the questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, oral care status, and awareness of dental hygienists. When the subjective oral health condition was poor, normal, or good, it was all shown that the toothbrush was done more than three times a day, and the oral examination was all examined. In particular, 68.1 percent of the respondents said they were in good subjective health. Preventive treatment was the highest in the group with good subjective oral health. Of the total respondents, 83.6 percent said "yes" to the question of knowing dental hygienists, while 65.5 percent said "yes" to the question of whether they know the work of dental hygienists, recognizing that most of the respondents were aware of dental hygienists and their work. Both the group that said they knew the dental hygienist and the group that said they did not know answered 43.5% as an assistant. In conclusion, oral health projects will have to be carried out in line with military situations in order to maintain a healthy oral state of professional soldiers, and long-term planning for active oral health care, especially as an important role of personnel in charge of health care in the military is needed.
Objectives: This study aimed at helping oral health prevention of the blind and related management plan, which is defined as the influence factors between missing and filled permanent teeth index and general feature and oral health behavior of the blind in Korea (estimates 229,678 persons) using data of the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2014 Korea Centers For Disease Control and Prevention. Methods: The blind over the age of 30 were selected as study subjects who have conducted health survey and dental inspections in KNHANES VI-2. Estimates of the subjects were 229,67 persons. For analyzing data, general linear models: GLM and covariance analysis were conducted to identify the relation between general feature and oral health behavior and missing and filled permanent teeth index. SPSS 21 statistical program was used, which is possible to conduct complex sampling design, and the significance level was 0.05. Results: The missing and filled permanent teeth index was 8.58 points. Regarding the results of the analysis, R-squared of the missing and filled permanent teeth index depending on general features of the blind was 0.839 points, which shows gender, age, residence, education level, individual income, disability rating, kinds of health insurance, marital status and recipient of basic living had an effect on the missing and filled permanent teeth index. R2 of the missing and filled permanent teeth index depending on oral health form of the blind was 0.728 points, which shows oral examination, dental treatment, smoking and toothbrushing after lunch had an effect on the missing and filled permanent teeth index. Conclusions: With the result of this study, we found the oral health actual condition of the blind in Korea. Therefore, it is considered that the government needs to introduce the personalized oral health education program to maintain oral health of the blind and to develop a program that uses braille and voice device which enables to access and utilize to improve oral health behavior that the government could use it as a reference to establish the policy plan.

In consequence of examining about the time of eating 46.5% in students, the students, who eat a light meal irregularly, were the largest with 39.0%. 2. As a result of examining about food that students eat as a light meal, the students, who eat pizzas much as a light meal, were the largest with 40.1%. There was significant difference by gender(p<001), by division(p<.05), by parents' monthly income(p<.05) and by monthly pocket money(p<.001) 3. As a result of examining about students' food habit, the total average out of 10-point perfection was 5.03. Thus, students were indicated to be not so good in food habits. As a result of examining students' recognition on a light meal, which has influence upon dental caries, the students, who recognize that candy and chocolate have influence upon dental caries, were the largest with 49.2%. As a result of examining about oral health knowledge according to the actual condition for students' food habits, by frequency of eating a light meal, the students, who eat a light meal once per 3~4 days, had the highest oral-health knowledge. The students, who eat a light meal under once per week, had the low oral-health knowledge, and showed significant difference according to frequency of eating a light meal.
This study was to investigate their relevance between oral health behaviors and number of remaining teeth of the elderly welfare recipients through the fluoride and scaling of the business. Researcher collected 660 subjects over 60 elderly welfare recipients investigated self-administered survey and use denture and number of remaining teeth though oral examination. Increasingly age number of teeth remaining reduced, there is a difference on the number of remaining teeth according to gender, age, the use of oral hygiene products, self diagnosis oral condition, brushing after lunch and showed significant difference(p<0.05). The remaining number of teeth can be prevented by attention and efforts of subjects. Therefore, we investigated convergent effects of oral health behaviors on number of remaining teeth of the elderly, I hope that oral health care program continually provides expansion of preventive treatment and to maintain the provision of health care about vulnerable group.

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the oral health-related quality of life (OHIP-14) according to smoking in the male workers in Gunsan. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 460 male workers in Gunsan from April 13 to 30, 2015. Among 460 workers, smokers were 205 and nonsmokers were 255. The questionnaire included three questions of general characteristics of the subjects, four questions of subjective oral health, fourteen questions of OHIP, ten questions of sobriety test (AUDIT), and eight questions of smoking (Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence, FTND). Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science) for Windows 20.0 program. Results: In the nonsmokers, there was a negative correlation between the alcohol consumption, dental health condition, tooth pain, gum bleeding, and halitosis. The higher OHIP in the smokers had the negative correlation with nicotine dependence, alcohol consumption, tooth pain, gum bleeding, and halitosis. In order to improve OHIP, smokers are encouraged to manage gum bleeding, and non-smokers to halitosis. Conclusions: In order to improve OHIP, cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption is very important and it can lead to improve the quality of life in the workers.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for confirming the convergence relationship between flexibility exercise on quality of life, oral condition, and oral health-related behavior. Data from the 2012 KNHNES were used, and complex sample linear regression analysis and logistic regression analysis were performed to confirm the effects of flexibility exercise on quality of life and oral health. As a result, those who controlled for demographic characteristics and did not exercise flexibility had .027 times worse exercise ability among the subcategories of quality of life, and .152 times higher number of carious permanent teeth. Among the symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder, pain symptoms were 1.633 times higher in those who exercised flexibility (p<.05). Therefore, it is considered that flexibility exercise has value in that it has suggested a relationship not only with general health but also with oral health.
