복합재 로터 블레이드의 구조 최적설계 (Structural Optimum Design of Composite Rotor Blade)

  • This paper addresses a method for structural optimum design of composite rotor blade. The basic model of a composite helicopter main rotor blade is designed and its parameters determining the structural/dynamic properties are studied. Through the investigation of flap/lag/torsional stiffness, the structural properties of the model are analyzed. In this study, helicopter rotor blades are analyzed by using VABS. The computer program VABS (Variational Asymptotic Beam Section Analysis) uses the variational asymptotic method to split a three-dimensional nonlinear elasticity problem into a two dimensional cross-sectional analysis and a one-dimensional nonlinear beam problem. This is accomplished by taking advantage of certain small parameters inherent to beam-like structures. In addition, the rotational stability of the blade is estimated by the frequency diagram from FE analysis(MSC.Patran/Nastran) to understand its vibrational property. From the result, design parameters to determine and optimize the properties of the model are presented.

  • The design of structural engineering optimization is to minimize the cost. This problem has many objective functions formulating section and shape as a function of the included discrete variables. simulated annealing, genetic algerian and TABU algerian are searching methods for optimum values. The object of this reserch Is comparing the result of TABU algorithm, and verifying the efficiency of TABU algorithm in structural optimization design field. For the purpose, this study used a solid truss of 25 elements having 10 nodes, and size optimization for each constraint and load condition of Geodesic ome, and shape optimization of Cable Dome for verifying spatial structures by the application of TABU algorithm.

  • The prestressed concrete girder bridges have been used widely at the domestic national road as well as highway because it is great in the functional and economical efficiency. Also it has the advantage of convenience of design and construction due to being given standard sections. However it could be easily verified that a standard section of P.S.C girder is excessive design, which has much more redundancy than is necessary against design loads. Thus, in this paper the formulation of the optimum design for PSC girder railway bridge is suggested and dominant design variables and constraints are inquired as performing the optimum design. The objective is adopted as total cost of PSC girder bridge ,and in order to effective optimum design, design variables are formulated as PSC girder section dimension and girder space as well. And constraints are formulated according to Korean railway design specification and considering construction-ability such as PS anchorage and girder space. Using the proposed optimum design system, optimum PSC girder bridge design has been performed. And from the results of analysis it is suggested to denote the optimum section which satisfies the structural safety ,and economical efficiency all together.

  • 선체의 구조설계는 최적화 방법을 이용하여 상당히 오래 전부터 최적 구조설계 방법을 사용해 오고 있었으나, 대부분의 경우, 설계변수(設計變數)를 연속적인 실수(實數)로 가정하여 최적해를 구하거나, 아니면 실수(實數)와 정수(整數)가 혼합된 문제에 대해서는 뚜렷한 해결 방안을 제시하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 최적해의 국부(局部) 최적성 내지는 이산적(離散的) 변수 특성이 있는 최적설계 문제에 대해서는 몇개의 초기치를 사용하여 얻어진 최적해를 상호 비교하여 주어진 문제의 전체적(全體的) 최적해를 구하고자 하였다. 많은 경우 이러한 방법은 확실한 대안이 되지 못하고 본질적인 문제점은 미해결로서 남아 있어 왔다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 생물의 진화 법칙을 모사한 유전적(遺傳的) 알고리즘을 이용하여 선체 구조물의 최적설계시 고려해야 하는 보강재의 갯수를 정수(整數)로 취급하는 문제라든지 판 두께와 같이 이산적(離散的) 특성을 갖는 설계변수 문제 등(等)이 최적설계에 미치는 영향을 검토하여 보다 일반적인 최적화 방법으로서 유전적(遺傳的) 알고리즘의 유용성을 확인하였다.

Optimum design of steel frame structures considering construction cost and seismic damage

  • Minimizing construction cost and reducing seismic damage are two conflicting objectives in the design of any new structure. In the present work, we try to develop a framework in order to solve the optimum performance-based design problem considering the construction cost and the seismic damage of steel moment-frame structures. The Park-Ang damage index is selected as the seismic damage measure because it is one of the most realistic measures of structural damage. The non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is employed as the optimization algorithm to search the Pareto optimal solutions. To improve the time efficiency of the proposed framework, three simplifying strategies are adopted: first, simplified nonlinear modeling investigating minimum level of structural modeling sophistication; second, fitness approximation decreasing the number of fitness function evaluations; third, wavelet decomposition of earthquake record decreasing the number of acceleration points involved in time-history loading. The constraints of the optimization problem are considered in accordance with Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) recommended seismic design specifications. The results from numerical application of the proposed framework demonstrate the efficiency of the framework in solving the present multi-objective optimization problem.

  • In this study, structural optimum design was applied to the girder of magnet over head crane. The optimization was carried out using ANSYS Code for the deadweight of girder, especially focused on the thickness of its upper, lower, side and reinforced plates. The weight could be reduced up to around 15% with constraints of its deformation, stress, natural frequency and buckling strength. The structural safety was also verified by the buckling analysis of its panel structure. It might be thought to be very useful to design the conventional structures for the weight save through the structural optimization. The objective function and restricted function were estimated by the orthogonal array, and the sensitivity analysis of design variable fur that was operated.

  • The present paper describes an investigation into the application of the genetic algorithm(GA) in the optimization of structural design. Stochastic processes generate an initial population of designs and then apply principles of natural selection/survival of the fittest to improve the designs. The five test functions are used to verify the robustness and reliability of GA, and as a numerical example, minimum weight of a cantilever composite laminated beam with a mix of continuous, integer and discrete design variables is obtained by using GA with exterior penalty function method. The design problem has constraints on strength, displacements, and natural frequencies, and is formulated to a multidimensional nonlinear form. From the results, it is found that the GA search technique is very effective at finding the good optimum solution as well as has higher robustness.

Multi-Criteria Topology Design of Truss Structures

  • This paper presents a novel design approach that could generate structural design alternatives having different topologies and then, select the optimum structure from them with simulataneously determining its optimum design variables related to geometry and the member size subjected to the multiple objective design environments. For this purpose, a specialized genetic algorithm, called StrGA_DeAl + MOGA, which can handle the design alternatives and multi-criteria problems very effectively, is developed for the optimal structural design. To validate the developed method, method, plain truss design problems are considered as illustrative example. To begin with, some possible topological of the truss structure are suggested based on the stability criterion that should be satisfied under the given loading condition. Then, with the consideration of the given multi-criteria, several different topology forms are selected as design alternatives for the second step of the conceptual design process. Based on the chosen topolgy of truss structures, the sizing or shaping optimization process starts to determine the optimum design parameters. Ten-bar truss problems are given in the paper to confirm the above concept and methodology.

  • 형상 최적설계에서 절점의 재배치 및 형상 민감도 계산은 많은 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 구조물의 형상을 Bezier 곡선을 이용하여 표현하고, 민감도 계산을 위하여 개선된 직접미분법을 이용한다. 그리고, 절점의 재배치에는 변위장을 수정한 속도장을 이용한다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 자중을 고려한 외팔보와 3차원 저널베어링을 수치예제로 선택하여 본 연구의 기법들을 적용한 형상 최적설계를 해석한다.
