  • This paper presents new algorithm which is based on LP(Linear Programming) that guarantee convergence. It is considered to minimize generation cost and load shedding as object function subject to various constraints. The proposed algorithm use sensitivity matrix to re-dispatch generation power, so the total CPU time is saved.

  • 응급 상황 발생 시의 구급차 부족에 따른 출동 지연 감소를 위하여, 충분한 수의 구급차가 운영되어야 한다. 본 논문은 출동 지연을 최소화하기 위하여 안전센터별 적절한 119 구급차의 수량을 결정하는 효과적인 방법을 제시한다. 한 지방자치단체의 구급차 출동 요청을 분석하고, 출동 요청의 통계적 특성을 도출하였다. 119 안전센터 간의 상호 지원을 포함한 구급차 출동 시스템은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 활용하여 모델링하였다. 구급차 요청의 통계적 특성과 시뮬레이션을 활용한 분석 결과, 대부분의 출동 요청에 성공적으로 응답할 수 있음을 확인하였고, 출동수행률 향상을 위한 구급차 수 증가가 효과적임도 확인하였다. 또한, 구급차를 추가로 배치할 안전센터를 찾아내는 효율적인 방법론도 제시하였다. 본 연구는, 적절한 구급차 수량 확보와 배치를 통하여, 응급환자 구조 서비스 개선에 활용될 수 있다.

MPC-based Two-stage Rolling Power Dispatch Approach for Wind-integrated Power System

  • Regarding the fact that wind power forecast accuracy is gradually improved as time is approaching, this paper proposes a two-stage rolling dispatch approach based on model predictive control (MPC), which contains an intra-day rolling optimal scheme and a real-time rolling base point tracing scheme. The scheduled output of the intra-day rolling scheme is set as the reference output, and the real-time rolling scheme is based on MPC which includes the leading rolling optimization and lagging feedback correction strategy. On the basis of the latest measured thermal unit output feedback, the closed-loop optimization is formed to correct the power deviation timely, making the unit output smoother, thus reducing the costs of power adjustment and promoting wind power accommodation. We adopt chance constraint to describe forecasts uncertainty. Then for reflecting the increasing prediction precision as well as the power dispatcher's rising expected satisfaction degree with reliable system operation, we set the confidence level of reserve constraints at different timescales as the incremental vector. The expectation of up/down reserve shortage is proposed to assess the adequacy of the upward/downward reserve. The studies executed on the modified IEEE RTS system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch with Valve-point loading of Thermal Generators using Modified NSGA-II

  • This paper discusses the application of evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms namely Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) and Modified NSGA-II (MNSGA-II) for solving the Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem with valve-point loading. The valve-point loading introduce ripples in the input-output characteristics of generating units and make the CEED problem as a non-smooth optimization problem. IEEE 57-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems are taken to validate its effectiveness of NSGA-II and MNSGA-II. To compare the Pareto-front obtained using NSGA-II and MNSGA-II, reference Pareto-front is generated using multiple runs of Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) with weighted sum of objectives. Furthermore, three different performance metrics such as convergence, diversity and Inverted Generational Distance (IGD) are calculated for evaluating the closeness of obtained Pareto-fronts. Numerical results reveal that MNSGA-II algorithm performs better than NSGA-II algorithm to solve the CEED problem effectively.

OPF with Environmental Constraints with Multi Shunt Dynamic Controllers using Decomposed Parallel GA: Application to the Algerian Network

  • Due to the rapid increase of electricity demand, consideration of environmental constraints in optimal power flow (OPF) problems is increasingly important. In Algeria, up to 90% of electricity is produced by thermal generators (vapor, gas). In order to keep the emission of gaseous pollutants like sulfur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen (NO2) under the admissible ecological limits, many conventional and global optimization methods have been proposed to study the trade-off relation between fuel cost and emissions. This paper presents an efficient decomposed Parallel GA to solve the multi-objective environmental/economic dispatch problem. At the decomposed stage the length of the original chromosome is reduced successively and adapted to the topology of the new partition. Two subproblems are proposed: the first subproblem is related to the active power planning to minimize the total fuel cost, and the second subproblem is a reactive power planning design based in practical rules to make fine corrections to the voltage deviation and reactive power violation using a specified number of shunt dynamic compensators named Static Var Compensators (SVC). To validate the robustness of the proposed approach, the algorithm proposed was tested on the Algerian 59-bus network test and compared with conventional methods and with global optimization methods (GA, FGA, and ACO). The results show that the approach proposed can converge to the near solution and obtain a competitive solution at a critical situation and within a reasonable time.

  • 온실가스로 인한 세계 기후 변화가 심각해지고 있다. 이를 방지하기 위해 세계 각국에서는 온실가스 배출 규제를 하고 있다. 국내는 온실가스 배출량을 2030년까지 BAU(Business As Usual) 대비 37% 감축하기로 하였다. 국내 온실가스 배출 비중 중 교통부문이 18.58%에 해당하는 데 그중 도로가 93.75%에 해당하는 대부분의 수치를 기록했다. 대중교통 또한 온실가스 감축 대상에 포함되는데 본 연구는 도로 교통 중 비용이 상대적으로 적게 들면서 온실가스 감량을 할 수 있는 버스 대중교통의 온실가스 감축을 위해 진행했다. 본 연구는 애니 로직을 활용하여 온실가스 시뮬레이션 모델을 구현해 버스의 배차 간격을 조정하여 승객의 대기시간 대비 최적의 온실가스 배출량을 예측하는 시뮬레이션을 진행했다. 향후 더욱 정밀한 모델을 구현한다면 버스 온실가스 감축에 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

  • Recently due to the increasing of the importance on the green energy is getting higher by implementing EERS(Energy Efficiency Resource Standards) and NA(Negotiated Agreement) such as lacks of natural resources and The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. And the most practical solution is CHP(Combined Heat and Power) which performs the best energy efficiency. This paper developed optimal operation mechanism of CES(Community Energy System) for enhancement of energy efficiency using CHP(Combined Heat and Power), PLB(Peak Load Boiler) and ACC(ACCumulator) capacities. This method optimally operated these capacities calculated the maximum profits by Dynamic Programing. Through the case studies, it is verified that the proposed algorithm of can evaluate availability.

  • The impacts of EV charging demands on power system such as increased peak demands may be developed by means of modeling a stochastic distribution of charging and a demand dispatch calculation. Optimization processes are proposed to determine optimal demand distribution portions so that charging costs and demands can be managed optimally. There are two optimization methods which have different effects on the outcome. These focus either on the Electric vehicle customer side (cost optimization) or the System Operator side (Load-weighted optimization).

  • 주파수는 발전기 조속기와 전적거래소 EMS AGC의 협조제어 체계가 적절하여야 안정적인 운영이 가능하며, 과다한 주파수 조정은 경제급전을 저해함은 물론 발전기의 수명단축을 초래하기 때문에 AGC 최적튜닝은 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 '07년도에 거래소 계통운영처에서 수행한 AGC 제어파라미터 튜닝기법 및 효과에 대해 논하고 있으며, 학계는 물론 동종업계에 AGC 관련 기술개발시 업무추진에 도움이 되었으면 한다.

  • The Paper describes the implementation of a quadratic interior point method for optimal power flow involves the determination of the optimal of a given objectives function subject to given constraints. The scheme developed solves the quadratic or linear optimization problem subject to linear constraints. The algorithm has been evaluated on a 14-bus system, and its accuracy and speed are demonstrated.
