ARMAX 모델의 매개변수 추정을 위한 최적 입력 신호의 설계 (Design of the Optimal Input Singals for Parameter Estimation in the ARMAX Model)

  • This paper considers the problem of the optimal input design for parameter estimtion in the ARMAX model in which the system and noise transfer function have the common denominator polynomial. Deriving the information matrix, in detail, for the assumed model structure and using the autocorrelation functin of the filtered input as design variables, it is shown that D-optimal input signal can be realized as an autoregressive moving average process. Computer simulations are carried out to show the standard-deviation reduction in the parameter estimtes using the optimal input signal.

외팔보 구조의 슬림형 TV 월마운트암의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of Slim TV Wall Mount Arm with Cantilever Structure)

  • This paper investigated optimal design for slim wall mount arm for flat TV. Recently the number of flat TV sets in use went on increasing in TV market. As the flat TV sets are getting common, consumers came to need another requirements like aesthetic factor besides display performances. As the new TV sets tend to be slimmer due to aesthetic design, Wall mount also requires to be slimmer for aesthetic balance. Slim structures, however, are vulnerable to structural rigidity. In this study, slim wall mount arm has been designed by 3D CAD and DOE (Design of Experiments) and finite element analysis for optimal structural design were carried out to determine the design variables for minimize working stress of wall mount arm. Finally two optimal design conditions were selected through DOE and FEM and one of those was chosen under constraint of minimizing blanking developed length.

  • The important dynamic specifications in the aluminum automobile body design are the vibrations and crashworthiness in the views of ride comforts and safety. Thus, considerable effort has been invested into improving the performance of mechanical structures comprised of the interactive multiple sub-structures. Most mechanical structures are complex and are essentially multi-criteria optimization problems with objective functions retained as constraints. Each weight factor can be defined according to the effects and priorities among objective functions, and a feasible Pareto-optimal solution exists for the criteria-defined constraints. In this paper, a multi-criteria design based on the Pareto-optimal sensitivity is applied to the vibration qualities and crushing characteristics of front structure in the automobile body design. The vibration qualities include the idle, wheel unbalance and road shake. The crushing characteristic of front structure is the axial maximum peak load.

입자 군집 최적화(PSO) 알고리즘 기반 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체 설계 (Design of a Multilayer Radar Absorbing Structure Based on Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 입자 군집 최적화 (Particle Swarm Optimization: PSO) 알고리즘을 이용하여 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체를 설계하고, 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체의 특성을 분석하였다. 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체 설계에 PSO를 적용함으로써 빠르고 정확하게 설계 값을 도출할 수 있음을 보였으며, 특히 경사 입사에 대한 경우에 대해서도 최적의 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체를 설계할 수 있음을 보였다. 또한, 다양한 설계 파라미터의 조합에서도 성능 요구 조건에 부합하는 최적의 값이 결정될 수 있음을 보였다. 각 단계별로 필요한 방정식 및 모든 변수에 대한 자세한 설명을 포함해서 포괄적인 순서도를 통해 제시하였고 본 논문의 결과로부터 다층 레이더 흡수 구조체를 설계하기 위한 복잡하고 많은 계산을 생략할 수 있으며, 다양한 복합 재료를 활용한 다층 레이다 흡수 구조체 설계 및 개발에 활용할 수 있다.

Design of an Optimal Planar Array Structure with Uniform Spacing for Side-Lobe Reduction

  • In this paper, we design an optimal planar array geometry for maximum side-lobe reduction. The concept of thinned array is applied to obtain an optimal two dimensional(2-D) planar array structure. First, a 2-D rectangular array with uniform spacing is used as an initial planar array structure. Next, we modify the initial planar array geometry with the aid of thinned array theory in order to reduce the maximum side-lobe level. This is implemented by a genetic algorithm under some constraint, minimizing the maximum side-lobe level of the 2-D planar array. It is shown that the optimized planar array structure can achieve low side-lobe level without optimizing the excitations of the array antennas.

압전지능구조물의 최적설계를 위한 민감도 해석 (Sensitivity analysis for optimal design of piezoelectric structures)

  • This study aims at performing sensitivity analysis of piezoelectric smart structure for minimizing radiated noise from the structure, The structure consists of a flat plate on which disk shaped piezoelectric actuator is mounted, and finite element modeling is used for the structure. The finite element modeling uses a combination of three dimensional piezoelectric, flat shell and transition elements so thus it can take into account the coupling effects of the piezoelectric device precisely and it can also reduce the degrees of freedom of the finite element model. Electric potential on the piezoelectric actuator is taken as a design variable and total radiated power of the structure is chosen as an objective function. The objective function can be represented as Rayleigh's integral equation and is a function of normal displacements of the structure. For the convenience of computation, all degrees of freedom of the finite element equation is condensed out except the normal displacements of the structure. To perform the design sensitivity analysis, the derivative of the objective function with respect to the normal displacements is found, and the derivative of the norma displacements with respect to the design variable is calculated from the finite element equation by using so called the adjoint variable method. The analysis results are compared with those of the finite difference method, and shows a good agreement. This sensitivity analysis is faster and more accurate than the finite difference method. Once the sensitivity analysis program is used for gradient-based optimizations, one could achieve a better convergence rate than non-derivative methods for optimal design of piezoelectric smart structures.

  • 본 연구에서는 최적의 인공신경망 구조 설계를 위하여 인공신경망과 유전자 알고리즘이 결합된 신경망구조 설계기법이 제안되었다. 저자들은 신경망 구조설계시 인공지능 적용에 따른 계산적인 복잡함을 줄이며, 신경망에 의한 예측의 정확성을 증가시키기 위하여 인공신경망과 유전자 알고리즘의 특성을 조합하였다. 최적의 신경망 구조를 얻기 위하여 신경망 구조의 설계변수들에 대한 유전자 선별기법을 적용하였다. 제안된 합성 기법의 적용성을 평가하기 위하여 여러 지반공학 물성치들을 추정하는 해석에 적용되었다.

  • 불확실성을 가지는 하중의 변동성을 고려한 구조제어시스템의 최적설계방법에 관하여 연구하였다. 일반적인 제어시스템의 설계 문제가 구조물과 제어시스템간의 상호작용 고려하여 구조-제어 시스템을 최적화이나, 이 연구에서는 하중-구조물-제어 시스템간의 상호작용에 대한 최적설계방법에 관하여 다루었다. 구조물의 응답을 최대화하는 하중과, 이를 최소화하는 구조제어시스템을 동시에 구하는 최대-최소문제(Min-max Problem)를 정식화하고, 최적설계변수를 효율적으로 찾는 방법으로 병렬진화 알고리즘을 이용하여 불확실성이 존재하는 선형구조제어시스템의 최적설계방법을 제시하였다. 지진하중을 받는 구조물의 제진시스템 설계 예 및 수치해석을 통하여 연구한 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents the structure design for optimizing output power density and efficiency to develop a spoke-type interior permanent magnet synchronous generator (IPMSG). To obtain the optimal structure, the combination of response surface method (RSM) and 2-D finite element analysis can solve the problem effectively for reducing the volume of permanent magnets (PMs) and maximizing the ratio between power density and efficiency. The effectiveness of this proposed structure design is verified by the simulation and experiment according to the comparison of the electromagnetic characteristics between the initial and modified structure.

A Study on Optimal Design of Panel Shape of a Body Structure for Reduction of Interior Noise

  • This paper presents an optimal design process using beads on a body panel to improve interior noise of a passenger vehicle. Except modification of structural members, it is difficult to find effective countermeasures that can work for the intermediate frequency range from 100 Hz to 300 Hz which lies between the booming and low medium frequency. In this study, it is a major goal to find additional counter-measures for this intermediate frequency range by performing optimal design of beads on body panels. The proposed method for design optimization consists of 4 sub-steps, that is, a) problem definition, b) cause analysis, c) countermeasure development and d) validation. The objective function is minimization of interior noise level. The major design variables are the geometrical shape of a bead and combination of beads on the critical panels. Sensitivity analysis and optimization are performed according to the predefined process for an optimal design. It is verified that the proposed design decreases the level of noise transfer function above 5 dB.
