Influence of Self-driving Data Set Partition on Detection Performance Using YOLOv4 Network (YOLOv4 네트워크를 이용한 자동운전 데이터 분할이 검출성능에 미치는 영향)

  • Aiming at the development of neural network and self-driving data set, it is also an idea to improve the performance of network model to detect moving objects by dividing the data set. In Darknet network framework, the YOLOv4 (You Only Look Once v4) network model was used to train and test Udacity data set. According to 7 proportions of the Udacity data set, it was divided into three subsets including training set, validation set and test set. K-means++ algorithm was used to conduct dimensional clustering of object boxes in 7 groups. By adjusting the super parameters of YOLOv4 network for training, Optimal model parameters for 7 groups were obtained respectively. These model parameters were used to detect and compare 7 test sets respectively. The experimental results showed that YOLOv4 can effectively detect the large, medium and small moving objects represented by Truck, Car and Pedestrian in the Udacity data set. When the ratio of training set, validation set and test set is 7:1.5:1.5, the optimal model parameters of the YOLOv4 have highest detection performance. The values show mAP50 reaching 80.89%, mAP75 reaching 47.08%, and the detection speed reaching 10.56 FPS.

  • This paper proposed a division algorithm of performance complexity $O{\frac{n(n+1)}{2}}$ for a change-making problem(CMP) in which polynomial time algorithms are not known as NP-hard problem. CMP seeks to minimize the sum of the xj number of coins exchanged when a given amount of money C is exchanged for cj,j=1,2,⋯,n coins. Known polynomial algorithms for CMPs are greedy algorithms(GA), divide-and-conquer (DC), and dynamic programming(DP). The optimal solution can be obtained by DP of O(nC), and in general, when given C>2n, the performance complexity tends to increase exponentially, so it cannot be called a polynomial algorithm. This paper proposes a simple algorithm that calculates quotient by dividing upper triangular matrices and main diagonal for k×n matrices in which only j columns are placed in descending order of cj of n for cj ≤ C and i rows are placed k excluding all the dividers in cj. The application of the proposed algorithm to 39 benchmarking experimental data of various types showed that the optimal solution could be obtained quickly and accurately with only a calculator.

  • This paper suggests polynomial time algorithm for cutwidth minimization problem that classified as NP-complete because the polynomial time algorithm to find the optimal solution has been unknown yet. To find the minimum cutwidth CWf(G)=max𝜈VCWf(𝜈)for given graph G=(V,E),m=|V|, n=|E|, the proposed algorithm divides neighborhood NG[𝜈i] of the maximum degree vertex 𝜈i in graph G into left and right and decides the vertical cut plane with minimum number of edges pass through the vertex 𝜈i firstly. Then, we split the left and right NG[𝜈i] into horizontal sections with minimum pass through edges. Secondly, the inner-section vertices are connected into line graph and the inter-section lines are connected by one line layout. Finally, we perform the optimization process in order to obtain the minimum cutwidth using vertex moving method. Though the proposed algorithm requires O(n2) time complexity, that can be obtains the optimal solutions for all of various experimental data

Efficiency and Productivity on ICT Industry (ICT 제조업과 서비스업의 효율성과 생산성)

  • Non-parametric method such as technology efficiency, DEA/Window model and Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) are used to measure efficiency and productivity of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) manufacturing industry and service industry over the period 2007-2011. The results of this paper indicate following: (1) Technology efficiency of the ICT manufacturing industry were found as the range of 0.34 and 0.39 over the sample period. Technology efficiency of the ICT service industry were found as the range of 0.16 and 0.20 over the sample period. (2) The geometric average of the Malmquist TFP indexes on ICT manufacturing industry indicated the productivity improvement an average of 8.3 percent. (3) TIER analysis result on ICT manufacturing industry showed that optimal bench marking made by storage devices${\rightarrow}$wireless communication equipment${\rightarrow}$broadcasting equipment${\rightarrow}$radio, recording and playback devices${\rightarrow}$computers, printers, video and audio-visual equipment path. TIER analysis result on ICT service industry indicated that optimal bench marking made by computers and packaged software${\rightarrow}$wired communication${\rightarrow}$communication, information, detection equipment${\rightarrow}$consulting and construction for computer systems integration${\rightarrow}$industrial machinery and equipment rental${\rightarrow}$telecommunications reseller${\rightarrow}$system software development and delivery${\rightarrow}$hosting path.

The Influence on Readability by the Visual Characters Layout at the TV Home Shopping Broadcasting (TV홈쇼핑 방송영상 자막화면 구성이 가독성에 미치는 영향)

  • Visual characters used in television affect the viewers in a different way from printed media. This paper analyzed the visual characters presented in each home shopping channel and their year-by-year characteristics in terms of layouts. Based on the results, the readability was analyzed according to different layouts, suggesting optimal layouts that allows for better communication with the viewers. The purpose of this study is thus to focus on the visual character layouts, which have not been fully explored to date, in order to identify the most effective one among basic locations of visual characters. The results indicate that the bottom location shows higher readability than top. The right side showed higher preference than left, while readability did not demonstrate a significant difference. As for the L-bar and reverse L-bar, the L-bar arrangement was shown preferable in terms of readability. Finally, the layout should be determined considering the readability by location.

Power Allocation and Subcarrier Assignment for Joint Delivery of Unicast and Broadcast Transmissions in OFDM Systems

  • Most existing studies on broadcast services in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems have focused on how to allocate the transmission power to the subcarriers. However, because a broadcasting system must guarantee quality of service to all users, the performance of the broadcast service dominantly depends on the channel state of the user who has the lowest received signal-to-noise ratio among users. To reduce the effect of the worst user on the system performance, we propose a joint delivery scheme of unicast and broadcast transmissions in OFDM systems with broadcast and unicast best-effort users. In the proposed joint delivery scheme, the BS delivers the broadcast information using both the broadcast and unicast subcarriers at the same time in order to improve the performance of the broadcast service. The object of the proposed scheme is to minimize the outage probability of the broadcast service while maximizing the sum-rate of best-effort users. For the proposed joint delivery scheme, we develop an adaptive power and subcarrier allocation algorithm under the constraint of total transmission power. This paper shows that the optimal power allocation over each subcarrier in the proposed scheme has a multi-level water filling form. Because the power allocation and the subcarrier assignment problems should be jointly solved, we develop an iterative algorithm to find the optimal solution. Numerical results show that the proposed joint delivery scheme with adaptive power and subcarrier allocation outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of the outage probability of the broadcast service and the sum-rate of best-effort users.

  • Achieving realistic visual quality while maintaining optimal real-time rendering performance is a major challenge in evolving computer graphics and interactive 3D applications. Normal mapping, as a core technology in 3D, has matured through continuous optimization and iteration. Hybrid normal mapping as a new mapping model has also made significant progress and has been applied in the 3D asset production pipeline. This study comprehensively explores the hybrid normal techniques, analyzing Linear Blending, Overlay Blending, Whiteout Blending, UDN Blending, and Reoriented Normal Mapping, and focuses on how the various hybrid normal techniques can be used to achieve rendering performance and visual fidelity. performance and visual fidelity. Under the consideration of computational efficiency, visual coherence, and adaptability in different 3D production scenes, we design comparative experiments to explore the optimal solutions of the hybrid normal techniques by analyzing and researching the code, the performance of different hybrid normal mapping in the engine, and analyzing and comparing the data. The purpose of the research and summary of the hybrid normal technology is to find out the most suitable choice for the mainstream workflow based on the objective reality. Virtual Control of Optical Axis of the 3DTV Camera for Reducing Visual Fatigue in Stereoscopic 3DTV

  • In stereoscopic television, there is a trade-off between visual comfort and 3-dimensional (3D) impact with respect to the baseline-stretch of a 3DTV camera. It is necessary to adjust the baseline-stretch at an appropriate the distance depending on the contents of a scene if we want to obtain a subjectively optimal quality of an image. However, it is very hard to obtain a small baseline-stretch using commercially available cameras of broadcasting quality where the sizes of the lens and CCD module are large. In order to overcome this limitation, we attempt to freely control the baseline-stretch of a stereoscopic camera by synthesizing the virtual views at the desired location of interval between two cameras. This proposed technique is based on the stereo matching and view synthesis techniques. We first obtain a dense disparity map using a hierarchical stereo matching with the edge-adaptive multiple shifted windows. Then, we synthesize the virtual views using the disparity map. Simulation results with various stereoscopic images demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

  • In the paper we propose an index method for XML streaming services, where a server broadcasts XML data to a lot of clients in wireless information systems. In order to control the access and tuning time of mobile clients, the proposed method constructs the XML stream through replicating partial index intermixed with parts of data. For this purpose, we propose a two-level tree structure for separating index and XML data into two parts: replicated vs. non-replicated. We analyze the performance of the proposed method with respect to access time and tuning time. With the analysis result, we derive the optimal level value.

  • 서양음악의 연구는 음향학의 측면에서 수십 년 동안 연구되어왔다. 이를 통해 좋은 콘서트홀이라고 표현할 수 있는 많은 객관적 지표들을 제시할 수 있었고, 그 결과 서양악기와 공연장은 밀접한 관계를 가지고 서로 발전할 수 있었다. 그러나 국악에 있어서는 악기와 연주 스타일, 공연장에 대한 음향학적인 지표가 연구가 되어진 것이 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 판소리를 위한 전용 공연장을 대상으로 청취평가를 이용한 주관적 평가를 통해 국악에 적합한 객관적 지표를 추출하였다. 실험에 사용한 음향 지표로는 RT, BR, IACC 등이 있으며, 이들 지표들을 가변하여 제작한 청취평가 시료를 바탕으로 한 주관적 평가 결과를 분석하였다. 서양음악에 적절한 것으로 알려진 음향특성뿐만 아니라 기존에 수행한 바 있는 국악 실내악에 대한 연구결과와도 다소 다른 경향을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.
