전해연마후 교정선의 변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON CHANGES OF ORTHODONTIC WIRES AFTER ELECTROPOLISHING)

  • Guiding a tooth along an arch wire results in a counteracting frictional force among arch wires, bracket and ligature. This frictional forces should be eliminated or minimized when orthodontic teeth movement is being planned. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes of width, cross-sectional forms and surface morphologies of stainless steel wire and $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire after electropolising. Experimental variables included in this experiment were arch wire materials, current, electrolyte temperature and polishing time. Wire widths were measured by micrometer and cross-sectional forms and surface morphologies were examined with optical microscope and scanning electron microcope. The results were as follows: 1. The mean and standard deviation of widths of stainless steel wire and $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire varying polishing time with condition of $249A/dm^2$ and $20^{\circ}C,\;249A/dm^2$ and, $332A/dm^2$ and $20^{\circ}C$ and $332A/dm^2$ and $250^{\circ}C$ were obtained. 2. With increasing polishing time, the widths of stainless steel wire and $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire became decreased proportionally 3. The changes of widths of stainless steel wire and $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire were statistically insignificant between $20^{\circ}C$ group and $25^{\circ}C$ group, but significant between $249A/dm^2$ group and $332A/dm^2$ group. 4 The cross-sectional forms of wire after electropolishing were not changed in stainless steel wire, and while it were changed to rounded corners in $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire. 5. The surface morphologies of wire after electropolishing were scratch-absent and more smoothened both in stainless steel wire and $Elgiloy^{\circledR}$ wire.

주조도재관과 도재전장주조관의 치경부 변연적합도에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Marginal Fit between Castable Ceramic(Dicor) Crowns and Metal-Ceramic Crowns)

  • The recently introduced castable glass ceramics incorporate properties characteristic of natural teeth and they are regarded as an ideal material to restore lost tooth structure. The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of castable ceramic crown with that of the metal-ceramic crown in the process of heat treatment. Two master dies for castable ceramic crowns and metal-ceramic crowns were fabricated from being cast with the base metal. Each master die was duplicated with addition silicone and hard stone. Ten castable ceramic crowns were made on each hard stone die and their marginal openings were measured three times first, after casting; second, after ceramming; third, after shading. The other ten metal-ceramic crowns were made on each hard stone die and their marginal openings were measured three times : first, after casting; second, after degassing; third, after porcelain veneering. Each crown was seated on its master die with the constant force delivered by loading jig. And then, marginal openings were measured on four locations by optical projector at X50 magnification. The results were as follows: 1. The mean marginal openings of castable ceramic crowns were $31.1{\pm}12.7{\mu}m$ after casting; $44.6{\pm}12.8{\mu}m$ after ceramming; $51.2{\pm}16.8{\mu}m$ after shading. 2. The mean marginal openings of the metal-ceramic crowns were $26.2{\pm}13.8{\mu}m$ after casting; $29.8{\pm}10.3{\mu}m$ after degassing; $38.0{\pm}14.5{\mu}m$ after porcelain veneering. 3. There was significant increase in the marginal opening of castable ceramic crowns after ceramming, while metal-ceramic crowns sho(wed significant increase after porcelain veneering (p<0.05). 4. Marginal fit of metal-ceramic crown was better than that of castable ceramic crown (p<0.01).

고무변성 에폭시 수지의 균열진전과정과 음향방출 특성 (Acoustic Emission during Crack Propagation Process of Rubber-Modified Epoxy Resin)

  • 균열선단에 발생하는 손상역은 재료의 파괴인성 메카니즘을 알 수 있게 하는 중요한 영역이다. 본 연구에서는 고무변성 에폭시 수지의 균열선단 손상역의 생성 및 성장 과정을 음향방출법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 고무변성 에폭시 수지의 고무함량은 5 wt%와 15 wt%로 하였고, 3점 굽힘시험편을 사용하여 모드 I 파괴시험에 대한 각 시험편의 파괴인성값을 구하였다. 또한, 균열선단의 손상역과 그 내부의 고무입자 변형상태를 편광현미경과 원자력간 현미경을 사용하여 관찰하였다. 고무변성 에폭시 수지의 균열선단부의 손상역은 파괴하중의 약 13 % 하중에서 생성이 되어, 약 57 % 하중까지 균열개시 없이 성장하였다. 57 % 하중 근처에서 개시만 균열은 최대하중부근까지 고착-활강거동을 반복하면서 안정 / 불안정 파괴로 진전하였다 이 과정에서 발생한 음향방출신호의 시간-주파수 분석결과, 고투입자 내부에서의 케비테이션 생성단계에서 주파수대역은 0.15 ∼ 0.20 MHz 이었고, 그 후의 안정 및 불안정시의 주파수 대역은 0.20∼0.30MHz 이었다.

빔 쉐이핑된 펨토초 레이저를 이용한 터치스크린 패널의 ITO 박막 패터닝 (Patterning of ITO on Touch Screen Panels using a beam shaped femtosecond laser)

  • Femtosecond laser patterning of ITO on a touch screen panel with a shaped fs laser beam was investigated. A quasi flat-top beam was formed using a variable mask and a planoconvex lens. The spatial profile of the original Gaussian beam and the shaped beam were monitored by a CCD beam profiler. The laser patterned ITO film was examined using an optical microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). It turned out that the quality of the ITO pattern fabricated by a shaped beam is superior to that of the pattern without beam shaping in terms of debris generation, height of the craters, and homogeneity of the bottom. Optimum processing window was determined at the laser irradiance exhibiting 100% removal of Sn. The removal rate of In was measured to be 83%.

회전하는 나선형 미니채널 카트리지를 이용한 미세입자 정렬 (Alignment of Microbeads Using Spinning Helical Minichannel Cartridge)

  • Separation of particles based on different sizes, detection of pathogenic bacteria and isolation of leukocytes from whole blood are typical applications of spiral or helical microchannels. The present study focuses on developing a CD4+ T-cell counting device for monitoring HIV/AIDS patients with the aid of a helical minichannel used for a sample cartridge. For the experiment, $10{\mu}m$ sized microbeads were used for visualization with a fluorescence imaging system. Alignment of microbeads was investigated in a stationary and spinning sample cartridge filled with glycerol-water mixtures of different densities. The helical minichannel was spun using a DC motor controlled by an Arduino board with a Bluetooth shield. It was found that when the sample cartridge was made stationary, no bead alignment was achieved for a medium with density (0% and 20% glycerol) lower than that of the beads, but when it was spun at 2000-3000 rpm for 1-4 min, an alignment was obtained at the top of the channel facilitating optical detection and enumeration of those microbeads. Since an alignment of microbeads was achieved for a medium with density as that of blood plasma, the same approach can be applied for aligning and counting CD4+ T-lymphocytes in whole blood samples collected from patients.

  • Fine microgroove is the key component to fabricate micro-grating, micro-grating lens and so on. Conventional groove fabrication methods such as etching and lithography have some problems in efficiency and surface integrity. This study deals with the creation of ultra-precision micro grooves using non-rotational diamond tool and CNC machining center. The shaping type machining method proposed in the study allows to produce V-shaped grooves of $40\mu{m}$ in depth with enough dimensional accuracy and surface. For the analysis of machining characteristics in micro V-grooving, three components of cutting forces and AE signal are measured and processed. Experimental results showed that large amplitude of cutting forces and AE appeared at the beginning of every cutting path, and cutting forces had a linear relation with the cross-sectional area of uncut chip thickness. From the results of this study, proposed micro V-grooving technique could be successfully applied to forming the precise optical parts like prism patterns on light guide panel of TFT-LCD.

GZO 타겟 결정성에 따른 박막의 전기적 광학적 특성 (A Study on Electrical, Optical Properties of GZO Thin Film with Target Crystalline)

  • In this research, we prepared Ga doped zinc oxide(ZnO:Ga, GZO) targets each difference sintering temperature $700^{\circ}C$, $800^{\circ}C$, and doping rate 1 wt.%, 2 wt.%, 3 wt.%. The characteristics of thin film on glass substrates which deposited by facing target sputtering in pure Ar atmosphere are reported. Ga doped zinc oxide film is attracted material through low resistivity, high transmittance, etc. When prepared target powder's structure was investigated by scanning electron microscope, densification and coarsening by driving force was observed. For each ZnO:Ga films with a $Ga_2O_3$ content of 3 wt.% at input power of 45W, the lowest resistivity of $9.967{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ ($700^{\circ}C$) and $9.846{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ ($800^{\circ}C$) was obtained. the carrier concentration and mobility were $4.09{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$($700^{\circ}C$), $4.12{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$($800^{\circ}C$) and $15.31cm^2/V{\cdot}s(700^{\circ}C)$, $12.51cm^2/V{\cdot}s(800^{\circ}C)$, respectively. And except 1 wt.% Ga doped ZnO thin film, average transmittance of these samples in the range 350-800 nm was over 80%.

PES 기판 위에 증착된 Mg0.3Zn0.7O 박막의 산소압에 따른 구조 및 광학적 특성 (The Structural and Optical Characteristics of Mg0.3Zn0.7O Thin Films Deposited on PES Substrate According to Oxygen Pressure)

  • MgZnO has attracted a lot of attention for flexible device. In the flexible substrate, the crystal structure of the thin films as well as the surface morphology is not good. Therefore, in this study, we studied on the effects of the oxygen pressure on the structure and crystallinity of $Mg_{0.3}Zn_{0.7}O$ thin films deposited on PES substrate by using pulsed laser deposition. We used X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy in order to observe the structural characteristics of $Mg_{0.3}Zn_{0.7}O$ thin films. The crystallinity of $Mg_{0.3}Zn_{0.7}O$ thin films with increasing temperature was improved, Grain size and RMS of the films were increased. UV-visible spectrophotometer was used to get the band gap energy and transmittance. $Mg_{0.3}Zn_{0.7}O$ thin films showed high transmittance over 90% in the visible region. As increased working pressure from 30 mTorr to 200 mTorr, the bandgap energy of $Mg_{0.3}Zn_{0.7}O$ thin film were decreased from 3.59 eV to 3.50 eV.

초음파 테이블을 이용한 단결정 사파이어 웨이퍼의 ELID 연삭가공 특성 연구 (A Study on the ELID Grinding Properties of Single Crystal Sapphire Wafer using Ultrasonic Table)

  • Single crystal sapphire being used in high technology industry is a brittle material with a high hardness and excellent physical properties. ELID(Electrolytic In-Process Dressing) grinding technology was applied to material removal machining process of single crystal sapphire wafer. Ultrasonic vibration which added to material using ultrasonic table was adopted to efficient ELID grinding of sapphire materials. The evaluation of the ground surface of single crystal sapphire wafer was carried out by means of surface measuring by using AFM(Atomic Force Microscope), surface roughness tester and optical microscope device. As the results of experiment, it was shown that more efficient grinding was conducted when using ultrasonic table. In case of using #170 grinding wheel, surface roughness of ELID ground specimen in using ultrasonic table was superior to ELID ground specimen without ultrasonic table. However, In case of using #2000 grinding wheel, surface roughness of ELID ground specimen in using ultrasonic table was inferior to ELID ground specimen without ultrasonic table.

비정질 기지 복합재 코팅층의 미세조직 분석 및 기계적 거동 (Analysis and Mechanical Behavior of Coating Layer in Metallic Glass Matrix Composite)

  • 비정질합금이 가지고 있는 우수한 기계적 성질과 화학적 특성을 부품소재에 표면개질을 목적으로 고속화염 용사법으로 대면적 코팅층을 형성하였고 내열성이 높은 자융성합금과 초경합금 성분들을 적절히 혼합하여 비정질기지 복합재료를 제조하여 코팅들의 미세조직 관찰과 나노인덴테이션을 이용한 미세표면의 기계적 거동을 분석하였다. 각 코팅층의 미세조직을 관찰한 결과, 단일상 비정질 코팅에는 미용융 입자와 lamellae 영역이 존재하고 자융성합금이 고용된 복합재에는 in-situ $Cr_2Ni_3$ 석출물, 자융성합금과 초경합금성분이 함께 혼합된 코팅층은 석출물과 ex-situ WC 강화입자가 공존하였다. 이들 미세표면의 기계적 거동은 제 2 상이 고용된 비정질 기지 복합재의 코팅층의 기계적 특성이 전체적으로 향상되었다.
