  • Recent advances in room-temperature, visible and near-IR diode laser sources for telecommunication, optical data storage applications are enabling combustion diagnostics system based on diode laser absorption spectroscopy. In contrast to some traditional sampling-based gas-sensing instruments, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy system is advantageous because of their non-invasive nature, high sensitivity, fast response time and real-time measurement capability. So, combined with fiber-optics and high sensitive detection strategies, compact and portable sensor system arc now appearing for a variety of applications. The objective of this research is to take advantage of distributed feed-back diode laser and measure the $CO_{2}$ concentration (by using direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods). In addition to survey spectra of $CO_{2}$ bands and spectroscopic parameters between 1565 and 1579 run were computed at temperatures between 296 and 1200 K (by using HITRAN 2000 database). It experimentally found out that the features of direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods.

전자 제어식 가솔린 엔진의 벽류 생성 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors of Fuel-Film Formation in an EGI Gasoline Engine)

  • Mixture formation is one of the significant factors to improve combustion performance of an spark ignition engine. This is affected by spray and atomization characteristics of injector. In the case of EGI system, air-fuel mixing period is so short that a lot of fuel-film and liquid-fuel flow into cylinder. Since this fuel-film is not burnt perfectly in cylinder, it is exhausted in the form of HC emission. In this paper, three measurement techniques were utilized to measure spray characteristics and the amount of fuel-film in the cylinder. At first, PMAS was used to measure the spray characteristics such as size distributions, SMD, and spray angle. Secondly the amount and distribution of fuel-film which flow into through intake valve could be measured quantitatively using the fuel-film measuring device. And lastly, by optical fiber type spark plug used to detect the diffusion flame, the amount of unburned HC was measured. As the result of these experiments, the information of optimal spray characteristics and injection condition to minimize fuel-film could be built up.

  • The ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) is a real time, full-field, non-destructive optical measurement technique. In this study, ESPI is proposed for the purpose of vibration analysis for new material, composite material. Composite materials have various complicated characteristics according to the ply materials, ply orientations, ply stacking sequences and boundary conditions. Therefore, it is difficult to analysis composite materials. For efficient use of composite materials in engineering applications the dynamic behavior, that is, natural frequencies, nodal patterns should be informed. If use Time-Average ESPI, can analyze vibration characteristic of composite material by real time easily. This study manufactured laminated composite of symmetry, asymmetry two kinds that is consisted of CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) and shape of test piece is rectangular form.

  • Urethane-acrylate propelymers for secondary coating of optical fiber and high - performance material were prepared from the 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI), poly(tetramethylene oxide)glycol(PTMG, Mw 650 or 1000), 1,6-hexanediol(HD), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA), and dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst. UV-Curable polyurethane acrylates were formulated from the urethane-acrylate prepolymers, three types of reactive diluents(DTs) having mono-, di-, and trifunctional-phenoxyethyl acrylate(PEA), hexanediol diacrylate(HDDA), and trimethylolpropane triacrylate(TMPTA), and 1-hydtoxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone(Irgacure 184) as a photoinitiator. The UV-cured films of polyurethane acrylates were obtained by curing using a medium-pressure mercury lamp(U W/cm, $\lambda_{max}=365\;nm)$. In this work, the effects of molecular weights of polyol and diol with low molecular weight into polymer chain on mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of UV-cured polyurethane acrylates were studied. The structure and properties of the films obtained from the UV photopolymerization of urethane-acrylate prepolymer were investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy, dynamic mechanical measurement, tensile testing, and X-ray diffractometry.

X-ray 미세 영상기법을 이용한 미세기포의 크기 및 속도 동시측정 (Synchrotron X-ray Micro-imaging Technique for Simultaneous Measurement of Size and Velocity of Micro-bubbles)

  • It is important to measure precisely the size and velocity of micro-bubbles used in various field. The synchrotron X-ray micro-imaging technique was employed to measure the size and velocity of micro-bubbles moving in an opaque tube simultaneously. Phase contrast images were obtained at interfaces of micro-bubbles between water and air due to their different refractive indices. The X-ray micro-imaging technique was found to measure an optical fiber with an accuracy of 0.2%. Micro-bubbles of $10{\sim}60{\mu}m$ diameter moving upward in an opaque tube (${\phi}=2.7mm$) were tested to measure bubble size and up-rising velocity. For DI water, the measured velocity of micro-bubbles is nearly proportional to the square of bubble size, agreed well with the theoretical result. In addition, the synchrotron X-ray micro-imaging technique can measure accurately the size and velocity of several overlapped micro-bubbles.

아날로그 신호처리를 이용한 백색광 간섭 피크의 검출 (Detection of White Light Interference Peak Position utilizing Analog Signal Processing)

  • 고속으로 간섭피크의 위치를 찾기 위해 일련의 아날로그 신호처리를 수행하는 백색광간섭(WLI)센서용 신호처리 방식을 고안하고, 이를 WLI 온도센서 시스템에 적용하였다. 새로운 신호처리방식을 적용한 결과 잡음은 $0.019^{\circ}C/\sqrt{Hz}$로 측정되었으며, 선형성도 우수하였다. 그러나 보상용 간섭계에서의 온도변화가 센서출력의 드리프트로 나타났으며, 현재의 구성에서 드리프트의 온도 의존성은 $1.42{\mu}m/^{\circ}C$인 것으로 계산되었다. 또한 간섭피크간 간격이 광원의 가간섭길이에 비해 충분히 넓지 않은 경우 간섭무늬 피크의 간격과 신호처리기가 측정한 피크 간격과의 관계가 비선형적으로 나타날 수 있음도 확인하였다.

  • 추력기 기반 자세제어계 제어기 설계에서 인공위성의 관성모멘트는 중요한 설계 요소이다. 설계 과정에서 불확실성을 고려하기는 하지만 큰 규모의 태양전지판과 같은 유연 구조물을 가지는 정지궤도 위성의 경우 추력기의 작동 제어주기와 유연모드의 간섭을 피하기 위해 정확한 관성모멘트의 측정이 요구된다. 천리안 위성의 경우 전이궤도에서 임무궤도로 전환하기 전에 관성모멘트의 측정이 수행되었는데, 본 논문에서는 천리안위성의 관성모멘트 측정 방법을 유추해서 기술하고, 실제 궤도상 시험에서 측정된 관성모멘트 값과 비교하였다. 이를 통해, 자세제어계 상세 설계 단계에서 고려된 불확실성 범위 내에 관성모멘트 값이 유지되었음을 확인하여 설계의 적합성을 검증하였다.

세 가지 방식의 근적외선 분광분석기를 이용한 글루코오스 수용액의 측정 (Aqueous Glucose Solution Measurement by Three Types NIR Spectrometer)

  • A method is described for measuring clinically relevant levels of glucose in a pH 7.4 phosphate buffer by nearinfrared (NIR) absorption spectroscopy. Three types of NIR spectrometer, dispersive type, photo-diode array (PDA) type, and fourier transform (FT) type spectrometer were used and the performance was compared. Spectra were collected with a cuvette cell or quartz liquid fiber of 1 mm or 2 mm optical pathlength as transmittance method. Glucose absorption band appeared at second overtone, first overtone, and combination region for all systems. By use of the multivariate technigue of partial least squares (PLS) regression, glucose concentrations can be determined with a 16, 44, and 9.1 mg/d l standard error of prediction for dispersive type, photo-diode array type, and fourier transform type system, respectively. Sensitivity of spectrometer was evaluated by absorbance for the difference of 10 mg/d l glucose. Three absorption bands, second overtone, first overtone, and combination region were suited to three types systems, dispersive type, photo-diode array type, and fourier transform type systems, respectively. This investigation showed that three types NIR spectrometer were proper method for identification and quantitative analysis of glucose and possible for noninvasive blood glucose monitoring.

분광법을 이용한 아크 플라즈마의 온도 및 성분 측정 (Measurement of a temperature and components of arc plasma with a spectroscopic method)

  • This paper describes an experiment of detecting a temperature and components of arc plasma of electrical circuit breaker with a spectroscopic system. The system includes an optical fiber, a monochromator which has three gratings from low to high resolution and ICCD of which time resolution is 50 ns. This system enables measuring a temperature and components of arc plasma of a circuit breaker which is generated and extinguished in a few ms. We use a Planck's law and Boltzmann Plot method for calculating a temperature of arc plasma. A Xenon lamp is used for calibrating the system and this is very important for calculating a temperature of arc plasma. In this study, Arc plasma of Ag and Cu contact was investigated and these represent the contact of low voltage and extra-ultra high voltage circuit breaker, respectively. 8 $kA_{rms}$ test current was applied with a capacitor bank.

질소레이저와 광섬유를 이용한 원격제어 실시간 우라늄 농도 측정 (Remote Real-Time Uranium Concentration Measurement Using the Nitrogen Laser and optode)

  • 질소레이저, optode 및 광증배관을 사용하여 우라늄 농도를 원격 실시간으로 측정할 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. 원격 측정에서 보다 효과적으로 우라늄 형광을 집광할 수 있는 optode를 설계하였으며, optode를 이용하여 우라늄 이온으로부터 나온 형광을 광섬유로 전송하여 광증배관으로 검출하였다. 신호처리에서는 온도 변화와 quencher들의 방해효과가 거의 없는 형광의 초기치를 유도하여 사용하므로 보다 정확한 우라늄 농도를 측정할 수 있었다. 측정 결과 우라늄 농도 변화에 따른 형광 강도의 변화를 쉽게 감지할 수 있었으며, 검출한계는 0.06ppm을 얻었고, $0.1{\sim}2ppm$ 범위에서 직선성이 우수하였다.
