  • Recently, interest in improving the quality of EMS(emergency medical services) has been increasing. Much effort is being made to innovate the EMS process. The rapid progress of ICT technology has accelerated the automation or intelligence of EMS processes. This study suggests an emergency room management method based on real-time data considering resource utilization optimization, minimization of human error and enhancement of predictability of medical care. Emergency room operation indices - Emergency care index, Short stay index, Human error inducing index, Waiting patience index - are developed. And emergency room operation rules based on these indices are presented. Simulation was performed on a virtual emergency room to verify the effectiveness of the proposed operating rule. Simulation results showed excellent performance in terms of length of stay.

  • The operator's performance of nuclear power plants is affected by many performance shaping factors(PSF). The objective of this study is to find out the PSFs and their effect on the nuclear power plant operations. We extracted PSFs in five category, and identified the relationships between PSFs and performance using the four survey methods; literture survey, case study, video task analysis and questionnaire survey. Finally the knowledge on PSFs and their effect was represented as rule form for cognitive simulation.

  • This paper is concerned with the determination of assembly unit for hull block assembly processes for shipbuilding. In this study, genetic algorithm is adopted for assembly level allocation and assemaly unit is determined by rule-based reasoning. The criteria to detemine assembly unit is to minimize welding operation time for the block assembly.

  • This paper considers automated storage and retrieval systems with double shuttle. We developed the expected travel time model based on the first come first served rule. An heuristic procedure by retrieval order sequencing was presented which aimed to improve the operation efficiency laking advantage of "No cost zone". Through sensitivity study, we evaluated the performance of the double shuttle system working on the four command cycle.

  • In this paper, a servo motor control IC for VTR is developed using standard cell library. All the cells are designed by single metal and the 3um design rule. A desinged circuit consists of circuits which generates a switching pulse and a control reference signal in VTR. The operation of VTR chip is verified by COSMOS simulator. Finally, layout is drawn by YOSELA.

  • The general efforts of applied research and development can be divided into product development, process development, process design, process equipment design, and operation The fed batch culture as one effort of theprocess development in fermentation industry has been practiced since the early times of human history. One particular industrial application with long history is in the cultivation of the baker's yeast where the glucose effect at relatively high glucose concentration is the general rule.

  • In this study, safety requirement & criteria for high-speed rail system were developed for safety verification as a national rules and regulations. Safety criteria were presented through analysis of high-speed rail development specification, survey of related regulations for safety requirements. and review of operation compatibility with domestic rail system. Finally, safety rule consist of system safety requirements and safety criteria for technical parts.

  • A learning control method is proposed in this paper, using a knowledge base which contains control rules, data, and patterns of the past experience of a plant. The knowledge for plant control is retrieved from measurement data during operation and continually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using tinually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using fuzzy model of the plant and a recursive statistic decision method of fuzzy subset for control rule generation. Also, the resulting knowledge-based control algorithm has been applied to aprocess and its performance improvement and proper generation of appropriate control rules have been verified.

  • We have developed a new remote-configurable firewall system that provides secure and easy-to-use access to home-network appliances such as network cameras, PVRs, and home file servers, through the internet. With a simple web browser operation, remote users can dynamically open and close the firewall of the home gateway. The firewall rule creation is based on an authentication of the remote client, and thus only packets from the authorized client can pass through the firewall, we analyses the sorority design for home gateway in ubiquitous surroundings.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy-based method for classification skin color object in a complex background under varying illumination. Parameters of fuzzy rule base are generated using a genetic algorithm(GA). The color model is used in the YCbCr color space. We propose a unique fuzzy system in order to accommodate varying background color and illumination condition. This fuzzy system approach to skin color classification is discussed along with an overview of YCbCr color space.
