High efficiency operation is required for motors of vehicle to increase fuel efficiency due to the regulation of exhaust gas. This paper presents a control method of fuel pressure to increase fuel efficiency and a sensorless control method of BLDC motor to get higher efficiency than conventional brushed DC motor. Initial rotor position of BLDC motor is detected from current value that is occurred by test voltage pulse and rotor is accelerated by defined sequence to enter sensorless operation mode. The algorithm to control flow rate of fuel pump uses PI controller that is control motor speed to maintain the target fuel pressure commanded by ECU.

This study introduces an integrated decision support system (DSS) for the water supply system in Fukuoka City, Japan. The objective is to conceive a comprehensive tool that may aid decision-makers to derive the best water supply alternatives from a multi-reservoir system in order to minimize the long-term drought damages and threat of water shortage. The present DSS consists of graphical user interface (GUI), a database manager, and mathematical models for runoff analysis, water demand forecasting, and reservoir operation. The methodology applied explicitly integrates the drought risk assessment based on the concept of reliability, resiliency, and vulnerability, as constraints to derive the management operation. The application of the DSS to the existing water supply system in Fukuoka City was found to be an efficient tool to facilitate the examination of a sequence of water supply scenarios toward an improved performance of the actual water supply system during periods of drought.
In this paper, we propose a new method for optimizing bit operations and applying them to DNN(Deep Neural Network) in software environment. As a method for this, we propose a packing function for bitwise optimization and a masking matrix multiplication operation for application to DNN. The packing function converts 32-bit real value to 2-bit quantization value through threshold comparison operation. When this sequence is over, four 32-bit real values are changed to one 8-bit value. The masking matrix multiplication operation consists of a special operation for multiplying the packed weight value with the normal input value. And each operation was then processed in parallel using a GPU accelerator. As a result of this experiment, memory saved about 16 times than 32-bit DNN Model. Nevertheless, the accuracy was within 1%, similar to the 32-bit model.

A lot of sensor and control signals is generated by an industrial controller and related internet-of-things in discrete manufacturing system. The acquired signals are such records indicating whether several process operations have been correctly conducted or not in the system, therefore they are usually composed of binary numbers. For example, once a certain sensor turns on, the corresponding value is changed from 0 to 1, and it means the process is finished the previous operation and ready to conduct next operation. If an actuator starts to move, the corresponding value is changed from 0 to 1 and it indicates the corresponding operation is been conducting. Because traditional fault detection approaches are generally conducted with analog sensor signals and the signals show stationary during normal operation states, it is not simple to identify whether the manufacturing process works properly via conventional fault detection methods. However, digital control signals collected from a programmable logic controller continuously vary during normal process operation in order to show inherent sequence information which indicates the conducting operation tasks. Therefore, in this research, it is proposed to a recurrent neural network-based fault detection approach for considering sequential patterns in normal states of the manufacturing process. Using the constructed long short-term memory based fault detection, it is possible to predict the next control signals and detect faulty states by compared the predicted and real control signals in real-time. We validated and verified the proposed fault detection methods using digital control signals which are collected from a laser marking process, and the method provide good detection performance only using binary values.
This paper proposes an open-loop clock recovery circuit (CRC) using two high-Q dielectric resonator (DR) filters for 39.8 Gb/s and 42.8 Gb/s dual-mode operation. The DR filters are fabricated to obtain high Q-values of approximately 950 at the 40 GHz band and to suppress spurious resonant modes up to 45 GHz. The CRC is implemented in a compact module by integrating the DR filters with other circuits in the CRC. The peak-to-peak and RMS jitter values of the clock signals recovered from 39.8 Gb/s and 42.8 Gb/s pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) data with a word length of $2^{31}-1$ are less than 2.0 ps and 0.3 ps, respectively. The peak-to-peak amplitudes of the recovered clocks are quite stable and within the range of 2.5 V to 2.7 V, even when the input data signals vary from 150 mV to 500 mV. Error-free operation of the 40 Gb/s-class optical receiver with the dual-mode CRC is confirmed at both 39.8 Gb/s and 42.8 Gb/s data rates.

In shipbuling processes, a quay wall is a major resource for additional operations after an erection operation at dock. A quay wall is becoming a new bottleneck instead of docks, while ship types with long operation time at quay wall are increasing recently. We developed a quay wall scheduling algorithm for the quayside operations of ships in this paper. The objective function is to minimize the sum of not assigned days of ships which have to be assigned to any quay wall under limited numbers of quay walls. The scheduling algorithm is based on an assignment method to assign each ship to a quay wall among its alternative quay walls at the time of launching or moving to another quay wall. The scheduling algorithm is also using Tabu Search algorithm to optimize assignment sequence of ships. The experiment shows that the algorithms in this paper are effective to make schedule of the quayside operations of ships.

RP(Rapid Prototyping) has been used in the various industrial applications. This paper presents the optimization techniques fur fabricated 3D model design using RP machine for the medical field. Once the original brain model data are obtained from 2D slices of MRI/CT machine, the data can be modeled as an optimal ellipse. The objective of this study includes optimization of fabrication time and surface roughness using the adaptive slicing method. It can reduce fabrication time without losing surface roughness quality by accumulating the slices with variable thickness. According to the parameter tuning and synthesis of its effect, more suitable parameter values can be obtained by enhanced 3D brain model fabrication. Therefore, accurate 3D brain model fabricated by RP machine can enable a surgeon to perform pre-operation. to make a decision for the operation sequence and to perceive the 3D positions in prototype, before delicate operation of actual surgery.

In this paper, a novel algorithm for segmentation of moving multiple vehicles in video sequences using logic operations is proposed. For the case of multiple vehicles in a scene, the proposed algorithm begins with a robust double-edge image derived from the difference between two successive frames using exclusive OR operation. After extracting only the edges of moving multiple vehicles using Laplacian filter, AND operation and dilation operation, the image is segmented into moving multiple vehicle image. The features of moving vehicles can be directly extracted from the segmented images. The proposed algorithm has no the two preprocessing steps, so it can reduce noises which are norm at in preprocessing of the original images. The algorithm is more simplified using logic operations. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on an outdoor video sequence with moving multiple vehicles in 90,000 frames of 30fps by a low-end video camera and produces promising results.

The present work has developed non-electric and delay-type explosive bolt that does not need electric power supply device and has the delay function in the operation. Non-electric power supply system enables separation device system to be minimized. In order to prove the mechanism of the operation, the power of air resistance caused from aviation object used to ignite the initiator. we can be founded from the present work that the changes in the operation load influence directly the ignition of the initiator. The design of non-electric and delay type of explosive bolt is the most suitable for the separation system that is necessary to reduce the velocity of aviation object and safe landing of parachute system.
Esophageal atresia with double tracheoesophageal fistula is a very rare anomaly and is difficulty to diagnose preoperatively. We treated a full term baby with esophageal atresia with double tracheoesophageal fistula. At the first operation, only the distal tracheoesophageal fistula was identified and ligated. When the upper esophageal pouch was opened, intermittent air leakages in sequence with positive bagging were noticed. However, intraoperative bronchoscopy did not identify a fistula in the proximal pouch, and the operation was completed with end to end anastomosis of the esophagus. On the $7^{th}$ postoperative day, esophagography showed another tracheoesophageal fistula proximal to the esophageal anastomosis. A wire was placed in the fistula preoperatively under bronchoscopy. At the 2nd operation through the same thoracotomy incision the proximal fistula was identified and ligated. On the $12^{th}$ postoperative day, esophagography showed neither stricture nor leakage.
