In 2003, the local police system was adopted, and the personnel and installation of local police agencies were subsequently changed. According to the "Police Law", local police station shall be established under the control of chief of police department, and the criteria for the installation of local police stations were to take into consideration of population, administrative districts, area, geographical characteristics, traffic and other conditions. The chief of local police has the authority to install district police station according to the "National Police Agency and its Organization". However, it is hard to say they were applied. Futhermore, it is inappropriate to apply the laws and regulations equally across the nation. Also, it has been criticized for its difficulties of patrolling, the weakened relationship with local residents, and poor quality of security services in rural areas. Therefore, this study suggests that the criteria for the installation of the police station should be made through a comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of the areas and security needs.

A driving controller for active destruction protections can be applied to machinery, aerospace and military fields. In particular, this controller can be used to track and attack enemy flying objects through the active control. It is important to ensure reliability of the driving controller since its operation should be kept with precision to the target point. The temperature of the environment where the driving controller is used is about -32 C ~ 50 C (241~323 ). Heat generated in the driving controller should be maintained below a certain threshold (85 C (358 )) to ensure reliability; therefore, the study and analysis of the heat flow characteristics in the driving controller are required. In this research, commercial software Solid-Works Flow Simulation was used for the numerical simulation assuming a low Reynolds number turbulence model and an incompressible viscous flow. The goal of this paper is to design the driving controller safely by analyzing the characteristics of the heat flow inside of the controller composed of chips or boards. Our analysis shows temperature distributions for boards and chips below a certain threshold.
The purpose of this research is to study the excellence and originality of the Joseon artillery(Jungwan-gu) through an effective restoration. Jungwan-gu that was used during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 was able to maintain its maritime dominance based on cutting-edge technology of its time. Joeson artillery(Jungwan-gu) was used in major naval/land battles during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and is an important cultural heritage that provides a glimpse into Joeson people's will to defend the nation from foreign invasion. For further historical verification such as operational method of Jungwan-gu, extensive research in various fields including size, proportions, structure, materials, and casting method were required. Accordingly, for a more effective research on Jungwan-gu, cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning and 3D printing were utilized. Firstly, 3D scanning, modeling, and printing technology were applied to identify the morphological characteristics of Jungwan-gu. Through this, we were able to reach our research objective of identifying the size, internal structure, and proportionality of Jungwan-gu. In addition, by studying the form, operation, casting methods, and other characteristics, the restoration of Jungwan-gu provided us with an important opportunity to verify the dominance and originality of the Joeson era's science and technology during the Japanese Invasion of 1592. This reaserch subject participated in the "4th 3D printing BIZCON Contest" and won the Minister Prize of Science and Technology Information and Communication.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in recognition for foundation before and after foundation education for preliminary senior founder' demographic characteristics, and to verify the effects of the characteristics on the foundation interest and foundation confidence. For this, questionnaire survey was carried out for 103 preliminary senior founders who participated in the foundation education program implemented by government. The statistical significance was verified with SPSS 18.0 program. On the basis of empirical study results, the main results were withdrawn as follows. First, there was a significant difference in foundation interest between before and after foundation education. Second, there was no significant difference in foundation interest with foundation motivation at before and after foundation education. Third, there was no significant difference in foundation confidence between before and after foundation education. Fourth, there was no significant difference in foundation confidence with foundation motivation at before and after foundation education. In conclusion, this study recommends an alternative for education curriculum development and operation for improving the actual performance of the curriculums targeting the senior generation through reliable research.

$CO_2$ is regarded as one of the greenhouse gases(GHG), which is the main reason of climate change. In order to achieve lower $CO_2$ emissions, several efforts have been conducted worldwide. $CO_2$ capture & storage(CCS) technology development is needed for a coal-fired combustion power plant because of huge $CO_2$emission. Oxy fuel combustion, one of the CCS technologies has been considered as a primary concern, nowadays. Oxy-fuel combustion needs flue gas recirculation(FGR) for stable operation and enrichment of $CO_2$ concentration in the flue gas. FGR adoption for oxy-fuel combustion requires development of effective desulfurization and dust removal technology. In this study, desulfurization characteristics of lime and dust removal technology have been researched in the laboratory scale coal combustor.
The dynamic stability of railway vehicle has been one of the important issues in railway safety. The dynamic simulator has been used in the study about the dynamic stability of railway vehicle and wheel/rail interface optimization. Especially, a small scale simulator has been widely used in the fundamental study in the laboratory instead of full scale roller rig which is not cost effective and inconvenient to achieve diverse design parameters. But the technique for the design of the small scale simulator about the dynamic characteristics of the wheel-rail system and the bogie system has not been well developed in Korea. Therefore, the research using the small-scaled derailment simulator and the 1/5 scaled bogie has been conducted. In this paper, we did running stability test of 1/5 scaled bogie using small-scaled derailment simulator. Also, for the operation of the small scaled simulator, it is required to investigate the performance and characteristics of the simulator system. This could be achieved by a comparative study between an analysis and an experiment. This paper presented the analytical model which could be used for verifying the test results and understanding of the physical behavior of the dynamic system comprising the small- scaled derailment simulator and the 1/5 scaled bogie.
The purpose of the present study is to examine the characteristics of intermediary organizations for rural tourism by analyzing how they are run, especially in Yangpyeong-gun and Icheon-si Nadri groups, and to further look for the desirable role they should play. Since the activities of these intermediary groups have not been accumulated enough to be able to be used for a study, grounded theory was adopted as deemed appropriate among other qualitative research approaches for this paper. Three main findings of the current research are as follows. First, the rural tourism intermediary organizations have characteristics that are leaning towards local villages more than visitors, although they are in the middle of a spectrum stretching between 'visitors to the green villages' on one end and the 'green villages' on the other end. Second, the intermediary groups work not just as a bridge among different green villages but also as a mediator, facilitator and a guide, noting that such roles can vary significantly depending on the level of competence of the groups themselves and the extent to which the government steps in. Third, the tourism intermediary organizations can contribute to local community-building, going beyond the boundaries of green village. They help to improve the quality of tour experience which leads to revitalization of local economy, and during the course of operating the intermediary groups, the community in the village can set up rules and resolve disputes and conflicts. Thus, the activities of the groups have the potential to create a local community by affecting not just at a village level but to a broader area where their operation is based on. Implications of this study are suggested in three ways. First, the paper looked at the interaction between rural tourism intermediary organizations and stakeholder in a comprehensive way with a qualitative research approach taken. Second, it identified the role and tasks of rural tourism intermediary organizations. Third, it is important to ensure that the tourism intermediary organizations play the local community-oriented role.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate high technology adaptive driving controls, such as mini steering wheel-lever system and joystick system, for the people with physical disabilities in the driving simulator. Background: The drivers with severe physical disabilities have problems in operation of the motor vehicle because of reduced muscle strength and limited range of motion. Therefore, if the remote control system with driver-by-wire technology is used for adaptive driving controls for people with physical limitations, the disabled people can improve their quality of life by driving a motor vehicle. Method: We developed the remotely controlled driving simulator with drive-by-wire technology, e.g., mini steering wheel-lever system and joystick system, in order to evaluate driving performance in a safe environment for people with severe physical disabilities. STISim Drive 3 software was used for driving test and the customized Labview program was used in order to control the servomotors and the adaptive driving devices. Thirty subjects participated in the study to evaluate driving performance associated with three different driving controls: conventional driving control, mini steering wheel-lever controls and joystick controls. We analyzed the driving performance in three different courses: straight lane course for acceleration and braking performance, a curved course for steering performance, and intersections for coupled performance. Results: The mini steering wheel-lever system and joystick system developed in this study showed no significant statistical difference (p>0.05) compared to the conventional driving system in the acceleration performance (specified speed travel time, average speed when passing on the right), steering performance (lane departure at the slow curved road, high-speed curved road and the intersection), and braking performance (brake reaction time). However, conventional driving system showed significant statistical difference (p<0.05) compared to the mini steering wheel-lever system or joystick system in the heading angle of the vehicle at the completion point of intersection and the passing speed of the vehicle at left turning. Characteristics of the subjects were found to give a significant effect (p<0.05) on the driving performance, except for the braking reaction time (p>0.05). The subjects with physical disabilities showed a tendency of relatively slow acceleration (p<0.05) at the straight lane course and intersection. The steering performance and braking performance were confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) according to the characteristics of the subjects. Conclusion: The driving performance with mini steering wheel-lever system and joystick control system showed no significant statistical difference compared to conventional system in the driving simulator. Application: This study can be used to design primary controls with driver-by-wire technology for adaptive vehicle and to improve their community mobility for people with severe physical disabilities.

Objectives : Cupping therapy is a stimulation therapy similar to acupuncture and moxibustion with effects that differ depending on the degree of stimulus. To make the strength of the skin objective in cupping therapy for this study, we measured negative pressure in the cupping jar and calculated the expansion rate of the skin. Subjects and Methods : In this study, we experimented with cupping therapy jars made for sale and used in clinics. We studied the pressure in the jars and the changes on the skin surface by measuring properties. We used commercial jars of four different volumes and diameters and tried to discover the properties on the size of the jar. Results : The results of experiment with the cupping therapy are as follows: 1. The lowest pressure in a jar was measured at $-600{\sim}610mmHg$, and the number of operating of vacuum pump for reaching lowest pressure was increased recording where the volume of the jar would be big, but the lowest pressure was not increased recording where the size of that would be big. 2. As the vacuum pump continued to operate, the pressure gradient in the jar got smaller which shows that the expansion rate of the skin was not linear. The pressure gradient shows different operational numbers on the vacuum pump near 0mmHg/operation unrelated to jar volume. 3. When negative pressure worked on the jar, air in the jar decreased. The percentage of air gradually reduced as the negative pressure acted in the jar. For example, the percentage of skin was 37-66% when the negative pressure, reatched -500mmHg. According to out results, different test areas generate different percentages of air in the jar, presumably related to skin elasticity. This phenomenon was most pronounced with the smallest jars. 4. At -500mmHg, the expansion rate of the skin was 1.57-1.9 on the abdomen, and $1.52{\sim}1.68$ on the back. The expansion rate of the skin appeared greater when the jar was relatively small, and it appeared smaller when the jar volume was relatively large relatively.
China, a leader of regional economies in North-East Asia, helps to integrate a single shipping market and affects diversely main ports in the region through affecting the flows of container transshipment, strategies of shipping companies for port calling and shipping networks. This study examines competition and cooperation among the hub ports in the region through studying examples of the three Chinese hub ports -Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tianjin- and concludes some implications of status change of hub ports in the region after scrutinising development process of the Chinese main hub ports and the historic interaction of port development among these ports. The characteristics of growth pattern of three ports are as follows. The port of Hong Kong constructs step by step the container facilities in accordance with demand growth and prefers stabilisation of operation and management through scale enlargement of port facilities. Even though demand grows continually, the port of Shanghai continued its defensive attitude towards facility expansion till the 1990s and has tried to get economies of scale in enlargement of port facilities. The port of Tianjin, similarly as the two other ports, expands serially its facilities and utilizes the capacity concentration and functional specialisation of facilities. The analysis of panel data and panel regression of three hub ports implicates that each port has its own specific demand and shows that the interaction of container handling among three ports was weak in 1980s and has become stricter and stronger since 1990.
