Root Causes and Characteristics of Occupational Incidents by Cause Investigation - Focusing on Maintenance and Repair Work - (사고 원인조사를 통한 농작업 안전사고 특성 연구 - 유지, 보수 작업을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to identify the types of safety accidents that occur during maintenance and repair operations and analyze the root causes. We used the logic tree diagramming to extract the root causes of 65 safety incidents specifically related to maintenance and repair work out of a total of 1,024 agricultural safety incidents that occurred between 2007 and 2020 collected by investigation with interviews. The extracted root causes were analyzed by categorizing them into six different safety system classifications. The results of the analysis and suggestions are as follows. Incidents related to maintenance and repair work, which can lead to irreversible safety hazards, have occurred frequently. These incidents were found to be occurring due to the overlapping of various safety system errors such as personal protective system and safety operation procedure. In the short term, it is necessary to emphasize compliance with the use of personal protective equipment, and enhancement of maintenance training. In the long term, it is necessary to establish a legal distinction for maintenance and repair work and clarify the responsible parties. Introducing a maintenance system is also crucial to prevent occupational injuries during maintenance and repair in agriculture.

  • Various efforts are needed to prevent accidents because ship collisions can cause various negative situations such as economic losses and casualties. Therefore, research to prevent accidents is being actively conducted, and in this study, new leading indicators for preventing ship collision accidents is proposed. In previous studies, the risk of collision was expressed in consideration of the distance between ships in a specific sea area, but there is a disadvantage that a new model needs to be developed to apply this to other sea areas. In this study, the density-based ship domain DESD (Density-based Empirical Ship Domain) including the environment and operating characteristics of the sea area was defined using AIS (Automatic Identification System) data, which is ship operation information. Deep clustering is applied to two-dimensional DESDs created for each sea area to cluster the seas with similar operating environments. Through the analysis of the relationship between clustered sea areas and ship collision accidents, it was statistically tested that the occurrence of accidents varies by characteristic of each sea area, and it was proved that DESD can be used as a leading indicator of accidents.

  • Urban air mobility (UAM) is being developed as part of the next-generation aircraft, which could be a viable solution to entrenched problems of urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution. A new airport platform called vertiport as a space where UAM can take off and land vertically is also being introduced. Noise regulations for UAM will be strict due to its operation in a highly populated urban area. Ground effects caused by vertiport can directly affect aerodynamic forces and noise characteristics of UAM. In this study, ground effects of vertiport on aerodynamic loads, vorticity field, and far-field noise were analyzed using Lattice-Boltzmann Method (LBM) simulation and Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings (FW-H) acoustic analogy with a permeable surface method.

  • His study was started in the sense of examining the direction of nurturing calligraphy education professionals as the Act on Promotion of Calligraphy was enforced. The purpose of this study is to derive the direction of nurturing manpower in the calligraphy field, and to suggest a direction for nurturing professional manpower different from the existing Seodang-style and apprenticeship methods. To this end, we first looked at the current status of manpower in the calligraphy field through a fact-finding survey and prior research. As of March 2022, the overall status of the curriculum of the Department of Calligraphy at Korean universities was analyzed and its characteristics were examined. In this study, the direction of nurturing professional manpower using teacher job training and the direction of nurturing professional manpower through designated institutions were presented. For the direction of nurturing professional manpower using teacher job training, we selected an autonomous training method that enables training members to collaborate together to enhance the competency of participants. presented as Training and training for professional manpower through designated institutions Major . operation .   • Recently, constructing the database of road network is a main key in various social operation as like the transportation, management, security, disaster assesment, and the city plan in our life. However it need high expenses for constructing the data, and relies on many people for finishing the tasks. This study proposed the classification method for discriminating between the road and building points using the entropy theory, then detects the classes as a expecting road from the classified point group using the standard reflectance intensity of road and the characteristics restricted by raw. Hence the main object of this study is to develop a method which can detect the road in urban area using only the LiDAR data.

  • The objective of this research is to establish the relationship between the important variables necessary for real-time available parking space presumption algorithm for a parking lot information provision. So it investigated the variables that come relate to the algorithm and collected parking information for an algorithm plan. It analyzed variables inciuding average number of parked cars, average parked time, rate of turnover, occupancy, cumulative number of parked cars, and etc. of the parking lot. And it collected data regarding illegal parking, double space parking, searching car and it presumed the number of available parking spaces. As a result of the research, It appeared that the achieved accuracy is superier to existing provision system which only take the total input and output numbers. This will help drivers' judgement, and also the parking lot operation and management.

  • In this study, a method for flood runoff analysis in main channel connected with interior floodplain, is applied for evaluation of hydraulics of Sapgyo lake for the purpose of flood protection by considering tidal effect of West Sea and runoff from the watershed. Especially, operational condition of sluice gate was explicitly modeled in conjunction with various runoff scenarios from watershed. The change in hydraulics of main channel and interior floodplain was found to be predominantly affected by tidal effect, and explicit modeling of gate operation made possible the evaluation of hydraulic characteristics of different alternatives. Until now, such an analysis was not made due to the lack of models with such capability, however, with the proposed method, it is possible to perform such an analysis and is thought that the proposed method can be a valuable tool for flood protection planning.

  • Multinational Corporations (MNCs) are increasingly establishing globally-distributed R&D (Research and Development) centers in which sites around the world work collaboratively to develop new manufacturing and product technologies. Following new globalization strategies, these projects more often include sites in Emerging/Newly Industrializing Economies (E/NIEs). The success of these ventures promises to be increasingly important both for the bottom line of MNCs and for the development ambitions of E/NIEs. This study attempts to identify these trends and to compare R&D transfer between Korea and China. The study identifies specific factors on MNC's R&D transfer and compares those operating factors between the R&D centers in Korea and China, which attract many MNCs in the world. Among those eight dimensions relating to MNCs' operation, there are significant differences in site selection, market characteristics, government support, and R&D networking between Korea and China. The analysis show more positive factors on China than Korea regarding R&D operations. The result will be helpful for both MNC's managers and governments' decision makers with respect to R&D transfer.

  • Within an intelligent automated cyber-physical system, the realization of the autonomous mechanism for data collection, data integration, and data analysis plays a critical role in the design, development, operation, and maintenance of such a system. This construct is particularly vital for fault-tolerant route-finding systems that rely on the imprecise GPS location of the vehicles to properly operate, timely plan, and continuously produce informative feedback to the user. More essentially, the integration of digital twins with cyber-physical route-finding systems has been overlooked in intelligent transportation services with the capacity to construct the network routes solely from the locations of the operating vehicles. To address this limitation, the present study proposes a conceptual architecture that employs digital twin to autonomously maintain, update, and manage intelligent transportation systems. This virtual management simulation can improve the accuracy of time-of-arrival prediction based on auto-generated routes on which the vehicle's real-time location is mapped. To that end, first, an intelligent transportation system was developed based on two primary mechanisms: 1) an automated route finding process in which predictive data-driven models (i.e., regularized least-squares regression) can elicit the geometry and direction of the routes of the transportation network from the cloud of geotagged data points of the operating vehicles and 2) an intelligent mapping process capable of accurately locating the vehicles on the map whereby their arrival times to any point on the route can be estimated. Afterward, the digital representations of the physical entities (i.e., vehicles and routes) were simulated based on the auto-generated routes and the vehicles' locations in near-real-time. Finally, the feasibility and usability of the presented conceptual framework were evaluated through the comparison between the primary characteristics of the physical entities with their digital representations. The proposed architecture can be used by the vehicle-tracking applications dependent on geotagged data for digital mapping and location tracking of vehicles under a systematic comparison and simulation cyber-physical system.

  • Blast furnace revamping in steel industry is one of the most important work to complete the complicated equipment within a short period of time based on the interfaces of various types of work. P company has planned to build a Smart Tracking System based on the wireless tag system with the aim of complying with the construction period and reducing costs, ahead of the revamping of blast furnace scheduled for construction in February next year. It combines the detailed design data with the wireless recognition technology to grasp the stage status of design, storage and installation. Then, it graphically displays the location information of each member in relation to the plan and the actual status in connection with Building Information Modeling (BIM) 4D Simulation. QR Code is used as a wireless tag in order to check the receiving status of core equipment considering the characteristics of each item. Then, DB in server system is built, status information is input. By implementing BIM 4D Simulation data using DELMIA, the information on location and status is provided. As a feature of the S/W function, a function for confirming the items will be added to the cellular phone screen in order to improve the accuracy of tagging of the items. Accuracy also increases by simultaneous processing of storage and location tagging. The most significant effect of building this system is to minimize errors in construction by preventing erroneous operation of members. This system will be very useful for overall project management because the information about the position and progress of each critical item can be visualized in real time. It could be eventually lead to cost reduction of project management.
