Control Strategy Compensating for Unbalanced Grid Voltage Through Negative Sequence Current Injection in PMSG Wind Turbines

  • This paper proposes a control algorithm for permanent magnet synchronous generator with a back-to-back three-level neutral-point clamped voltage source converter in a medium-voltage offshore wind power system under unbalanced grid conditions. The proposed control algorithm particularly compensates for the unbalanced grid voltage at the point of common coupling in a collector bus of offshore wind power system. This control algorithm has been formulated based on the symmetrical components in positive and negative rotating synchronous reference frames under generalized unbalanced operating conditions. Instantaneous active and reactive power are described in terms of symmetrical components of measured grid input voltages and currents. Negative sequential component of ac input current is injected to the point of common coupling in the proposed control strategy. The amplitude of negative sequential component is calculated to minimize the negative sequential component of grid voltage under the limitation of current capability in a voltage source converter. The proposed control algorithm makes it possible to provide a balanced voltage at the point of common coupling resulting in the generated power of high quality from offshore wind power system under unbalanced network conditions.

  • An adaptive maximum power point tracking (MPPT) scheme employing a variable scaling factor is presented. A MPPT control loop was constructed analytically and the magnitude variation in the MPPT loop gain according to the operating point of the PV array was identified due to the nonlinear characteristics of the PV array output. To make the crossover frequency of the MPPT loop gain consistent, the variable scaling factor was determined using an approximate curve-fitted polynomial equation about linear expression of the error. Therefore, a desirable dynamic response and the stability of the MPPT scheme were maintained across the entire MPPT voltage range. The simulation and experimental results obtained from a 3 KW rated prototype demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed MPPT scheme.

  • Tensile tests are widely used for evaluating mechanical properties of materials including flow curves as well as Young's modulus, yield strength, tensile strength, and yield point elongation. This research aims at analyzing the plastic flow behavior of high strength steels for automotive bodies using the finite element method in conjunction with the viscoplastic model considering the yield point elongation phenomenon. The plastic flow behavior of the high strength steel was successfully predicted, by considering an operating deformation mechanism, in terms of normalization dislocation density, and strain hardening and accumulative damage of high strength steel using the modified constitutive model. In addition, the finite element method is employed to track the properties of the high strength steel pertaining to the deformation histories in a skin pass mill process.

Vehicle Reference Dynamics Estimation by Speed and Heading Information Sensed from a Distant Point

  • As intelligent autonomous driving vehicle development has become a big topic around the world, accurate reference dynamics estimation has been more important than before. Current systems generally use speed and heading information sensed from a distant point as a vehicle reference dynamic, however, the dynamics between different points are not same especially during rotating motions. In order to estimate properly estimate the reference dynamics from the information such as velocity and heading sensed at a point distant from the reference point such as center of gravity, this study proposes estimating reference dynamics from any location in the vehicle by combining the Bicycle and Ackermann models. A test system was constructed by implementing multiple GNSS/INS equipment on an Robot Operating System (ROS) and an actual car. Angle and speed errors of 10° and 0.2 m/s have been reduced to 0.2° and 0.06 m/s after applying the suggested method.

PBD공법이 적용된 연약지반에서 운용 중인 시설물의 잔류침하거동 (Residual Settlement Behavior in Soft Ground Improved by PBD during Operating Facilities)

  • 항만 터미널 부두 지역의 연약지반 개량을 위해 PBD가 적용되었다. 본 논문은 PBD가 적용된 연약지반에서 PBD가 설치된 직후부터 상부 구조물 운용 후의 잔류침하거동에 대해서 다루고 있다. 기존의 연구는 개량공법 시공 중에 발생하는 침하, 즉 PBD 개량 효과에 대해 주로 이루어졌다. 실제 시설물의 운용 중에 발생하는 잔류침하는 시설물의 유지 및 운용을 위해서는 아주 중요한 요소이나 이 부분에 대한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 실제로 운용 중에 있는 항만 터미널 부두의 침하량 계측결과를 분석하여 운용 중에 발생한 침하량은 PBD 개량층에서 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 계측값과 수치해석 값을 비교한 결과 계측값이 수치해석에 의해 예측된 잔류침하량 내에서 수렴하는 것도 확인하였다.

  • 센서 네트워크 기술은 이러한 센서 노드를 특정한 지역에 대량으로 배치하여 네트워크를 구성한 후 센서 노드를 정보 제공의 매체로 활용하는 기술이다. 센서 노드는 매우 제한적인 하드웨어 자원을 가지고 있기 때문에 효율적인 자원 관리와 센서 네트워크상에서의 다양한 응용 환경을 제공하는 운영체제가 필요하다. 또한 원격 코드 업데이트는 이미 배포된 네트워크에서 응용 프로그램의 오류가 발생하여 이를 수정하거나 성능 개선을 위해 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 원격 코드 업데이트가 용이한 새로운 센서 노드용 운영체제, EPRCU(Easy to Perform Remote Code Update)를 제안한다. EPRCU는 이벤트 드리븐 방식의 실행 모델에서 에이징(Aging) 기법을 적용한 우선순위 기반의 프로세스 스케줄링 방식을 사용한다. 작업의 기본 단위인 프로세스는 로더에 의한 동적 메모리 할당 및 프로그램 메모리 관리 기능을 제공함으로써 무선 통신을 이용한 코드 업데이트 수행이 용이할 뿐만 아니라 다양한 센서 네트워크 응용에도 적합하다.

Simultaneous nitrification and denitrification by using ejector type microbubble generator in a single reactor

  • This study was performed to verify the possibility of nitrification and denitrification in a single reactor. In batch type experiment, optimal point of experimental conditions could be found by performing the experiments. When supply location of microbubbles was located at half of width of the aeration tank and operating pressure of 0.5 bar, it was possible for zones in the aeration tank to be separated into anoxic and aerobic by controlling air suction rate according to operating pressure of the generator. To be specific, the concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) in zone 1 and 2 of the aeration tank could be maintained as less than 0.5 mg/L. Also, in the case of concentration of oxygen in zone 3 and 4, the concentration of DO was increased up to 1.7 mg/L due to effects of microbubbles. In continuous flow type experiment based on the results of batch type experiments, the removal efficiency of nitrogen based on T-N was observed as 39.83% at operating pressure of 0.5 bar and 46.51% at operating pressure of 1 bar so it was able to know that sufficient air suction rate should be required for nitrification. Also, denitrification process could be achieved in a single reactor by using ejector type microbubble generator and organic matter and suspended solid could be removed. Therefore, it was possible to verify that zones could be separated into anoxic and aerobic and nitrification and denitrification process could be performed in a single reactor.

나프타분해플랜트의 부탄추출공정에서 부탄증기의 연속누출에 의한 화재사고의 영향평가 (The Consequence Analysis for Fire Accidents by the Continuous Release of Butane Vapor in the Debutanizing Process of Naphtha Cracking Plant)

  • 나프타분해플랜트의 부탄추출공정에서 부탄중기의 연속누출에 의한 제트화재와 플래쉬화재의 사고 결과에 대환 영향을 평가하고 사고결과에 미치는 공정변수들의 영향을 해석하였다. 877 kPa과 346.75 K의 공정조건에서 부탄중기가 87.8 kg/s의 속도로 8m의 높이에서 연속누출되 는 경우에 표준조건으로 껄정한 대기 및 환경조건에서 사고결과를 해석한 결과, 제트화재에서는 화염 의 형태와 크기를 예측할 수 있었으며 누출지점으로부터 200m에서 API모델로 산출한 복사열은 약 5 kW /m2이었고 플래쉬화재가 일어날 수 있는 연소범위는 11.2-120.2 m이었다. 그리고사고결과에 미치는조업합력의 영향은조업은도보다크며 압력이 증가할수록사고결과값이 중가하였다. 이때 플래쉬화재에서 XUFL에 미치는 공정압력의 영향은 Xr.FL에서보다 약 1/10이하를 나 타내었다.

비선형 불확실성을 갖는 내연기관의 강인한 토크제어 (Robust Torque Control for an Internal Combustion Engine with Nonlinear Uncertainty)

  • If an internal combustion engine is operated by consolidated control, the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded objectives. For this, it is necessary that the engine is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies minimum fuel consumption. In this context of view, there are many tries to achieve given object. However, the parameter in the internal combustion engines are variable and depend on the operating points. Therefore, it is necessary to cope with the uncertainties such that the optimal operating may be possible. From this point of view, this paper gives a controller design method and a robust stability condition for engine torque control which satisfies the given control performance and robust stability in the presence of physical parameter perturbation. Exactly, the present paper considers a robust stability of this 2DOF servosystem with nonlinear type uncertainty in the engine system, and a robust stability condition for the servosystem is introduced. This result guarantees that if the plant uncertainty is in the permissible set defined by the given condition then a gain tuning can be carried out to suppress the influence of the plant uncertainties.

해수전해설비의 화학세정 최적화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Chemical Cleaning of Electrolytic Facilities with Sea Water)

  • When NaOCl was generated and put into sea-water cooling machine in order to overcome the biological hindrances against sea-water cooling machine, it was converted into metallic ion, particularly Ca and Mg, as a hydrate in sea-water and is to stick to electrolyte as a side reaction. This phenomena make the distance between the electrolytes narrow to decrease the flow rate, which induces the local vortex flow which erodes the pole plate. Moreover, this increases the resistance of the electrolyte as well as voltage to decrease the electrolytic efficiency, which has curtailed a chlorine yield and caused a pole plate cut. We are able to overcome these problems by chemical cleaning and intend to extend the life-time of electrolyte and to increase output of the sea-water electrolysis facilities by studying optimal policy regarding chemical cleaning of electrolytic cell. Cleaning time of electrolytic facilities is determined when both increase in electrolytic efficiency and decrease in pole-plate voltage are 10%. At this time as operating current of electrolytic facilities is high, operating time is diminished. Whereas, parameter of end point determination according to cleaning is Mg ionic concentration in solution. When we use Cleaner as a 7wt% HCl, cleaning time is about 80min proper. We are able to maintain pole plate performance by protecting against pole plate cut by means of electrolytic by-product, improve operating rate of facilities, and cut down on maintenance expenditure after acidic cleaning.
