A Study on Blister Formation and Electrical Characteristics with Varied Annealing Condition of P-doped Amorphous Silicon

  • The rear side contact recombination in the crystalline silicon solar cell could be reduced by back surface field. We formed polycrystalline silicon as a back surface field through crystallization of amorphous silicon. A thin silicon oxide applied to the passivation layer. We used quasi-steady-state photoconductance measurement to analyze electrical properties with various annealing condition. And, blister formed on surface of wafer during the annealing process. We observed the blister after varied annealing process with wafer of various surface. Shape and density of blister is influenced by various annealing temperature and process time. As the annealing temperature became higher, the average diameter of blister is decreased and total number of blister is increased. The sample with the $600^{\circ}C$ annealing temperature and 1 min annealing time exhibited the highest implied open circuit voltage and lifetime. We predicted that the various shape and density of blister affects the lifetime and implied open circuit voltage.

Thin Film Amorphous/Bulk Crystalline Silicon Tandem Solar Cells with Doped nc-Si:H Tunneling Junction Layers

  • In this paper, we report on the 10.33% efficient thin film/bulk tandem solar cells with the top cell made of amorphous silicon thin film and p-type bulk crystalline silicon bottom cell. The tunneling junction layers were used the doped nanocrystalline Si layers. It has to allow an ohmic and low resistive connection. For player and n-layer, crystalline volume fraction is ~86%, ~88% and dark conductivity is $3.28{\times}10-2S/cm$, $3.03{\times}10-1S/cm$, respectively. Optimization of the tunneling junction results in fill factor of 66.16 % and open circuit voltage of 1.39 V. The open circuit voltage was closed to the sum of those of the sub-cells. This tandem structure could enable the effective development of a new concept of high-efficiency and low cost cells.

금속연료전지에서 이온교환막이 전기전도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Ion Exchange Membrane on the Electrical Conduction in Metal Fuel Cell)

  • In this study, The cation exchange membrane and the anion exchange membrane affect in electrical conduction of metal fuel cell was investigated. Magnesium material as anode electrode and the NaCl solution dissolved with 5~15wt% as electrolyte were used for the metal fuel cell. It was found that magnesium slag where flows toward the air electrode was suppressed by using ion exchange membrane. The open circuit voltage variation during discharge has very flat pattern by using ion exchange membrane, but the case which is not the exchange membrane, the open circuit voltage increased according to time. When using the anion exchange membrane, the electric current was higher case of the cation exchange membrane, as a result of higher equivalent conductivity in anion Cl-. The cation exchange membrane was observed with the fact that the output power is excellent in compared with anion exchange membrane.

  • This paper deals with the comparison and analysis for open-circuit field of PM(permanent magnet) machines with Halbach and circumferential magnetized rotor. The governing equation is derived in terms of magnetic vector potential and 2-d polar coordinate. And then, analytical results has been verified by comparison with those obtained from FE(finite element) method. On the basis of 2-d analytical results, this paper confirms that PM machines with circumferential magnetized rotor is superior to it with Halbach magnetized rotor in terms of magnitude and sinusoidal wave-forms of flux density due to PM and required magnet volume.

  • This is a thesis that 100W class open frame type power module of a quarter-brick size appropriate for telecommunication is reported. The input voltage is established between 36 and 75 in range in order for power module to be utilized for the telecommunication, and output were set at 3.3V and 30A. A number of parts used for transformer, inductor, and hit sink are composed of PCB in order for DC-DC converter to be lowered below 8 mm. A constant current control circuit was annexed to the system as well as basic protection prototypes such as over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature were well considered to enhance more credibility, and were tested. As a result, high circuit performance and credibility turned out to be significant.

  • This paper presents a new approach for fault diagnosis in three-level neutral point clamped inverters. The proposed method is based on the average values of the positive and negative parts of normalized output currents. This method is capable of detecting and locating multiple open-circuit faults in the controlled power switches of converters in half of a fundamental period of those currents. The implementation of this diagnostic approach only requires two output currents of the inverter. Therefore, no additional sensors are needed other than the ones already used by the control system of a drive based on this type of converter. Moreover, through the normalization of currents, the diagnosis is independent of the load level of the converter. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed diagnostic technique are validated by experimental results obtained under steady-state and transient conditions.

  • A torque control algorithm suitable for detecting an open circuit failure in which one of the three phases is unable to supply power to a motor in the permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented in this paper. When the failure occurs in the inverter, the output torque of motor is restricted. A new method which is implemented by using only a processor algorithm internally without any hardware redundancy circuit is proposed. A simulation and experimental study is carried out with a three phase inverter system to show the validity of the proposed method.

  • DAFC(direct alcohol fuel cell) takes the same structure and operational principle with PEMFC(Proton exchange membrane fuel cell). However, DAFC, which uses liquid alcohol instead of hydrogen as fuel, is able to be used as a portable power for small-scaled electronic devices such as MP3, PMP, and mobile phone because alcohol is quite convenient steady-state compound to carry and store it. This paper presents the OCV(open circuit voltage) characteristics of the cases which are alcohol species and different weight rate of ethanol, respectively. The OCV of methanol fuel cell is slightly higher 0.2V than ethanol one, and 8% wt. rate ethanol is rated as the most appropriate fuel for DAFC.

  • Studies and measurements of open circuit voltage in a metal/insulator/metal structure where metal are electrodes, when the insulator molecules have dipole moments all oriented parallel to each other have been reported here. The measured voltage has been shown to be directed related to the dipole moment of the molecules in the films. The insulator ultra thin films was deposited on them by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique to obtain the structure referred to as z type and Hetero structure of LB films.

  • VNIC를 구성하는 방법으로서, 공통베이스접속회로의 베이스단자에 제어전압을 인가하는 방법을 제안하고 이것을 모델화한다. 단낙안정형은 제어압력을 입력전력에 종속하도록 함으로써 실현가능하며, 개방안정형은 입력전류에 종속인 출력전력에 비례하도록 함으로써 가능하다. 제안한 회로모델에 의하여, 회로를 구성하오 해석하여, 회로모델의 횡성기법의 타당성을 찾고, VNIC의 구성이론을 평이화하고자 한다.
