Additive manufacturing (AM) is an alternative metal fabrication technology. The outstanding advantage of AM (3D-printing, direct manufacturing), is the ability to form shapes that cannot be formed with any other traditional technology. 3D-printing began as a new method of prototyping in plastics. Nowadays, AM in metals allows to realize not only net-shape geometry, but also high fatigue strength and corrosion resistant parts. This success of AM in metals enables new applications of the technology in important fields, such as production of medical implants. The 3D-printing of medical implants is an extremely rapidly developing application. The success of this development lies in the fact that patient-specific implants can promote patient recovery, as often it is the only alternative to amputation. The production of AM implants provides a relatively fast and effective solution for complex surgical cases. However, there are still numerous challenging open issues in medical 3D-printing. The goal of the current research review is to explain the whole technological and design chain of bio-medical bone implant production from the computed tomography that is performed by the surgeon, to conversion to a computer aided drawing file, to production of implants, including the necessary post-processing procedures and certification. The current work presents examples that were produced by joint work of Polygon Medical Engineering, Russia and by TechMed, the AM Center of Israel Institute of Metals. Polygon provided 3D-planning and 3D-modelling specifically for the implants production. TechMed were in charge of the optimization of models and they manufactured the implants by Electron-Beam Melting ($EBM^{(R)}$), using an Arcam $EBM^{(R)}$ A2X machine.
Recently, attempts have been made to detect fouling patterns in the ground using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) during the maintenance of gravel ballast railway tracks. However, dealing with GPR signal data obtained with a large amount of noise in a site where complex ground conditions are mixed, often depends on the experience of experts, and there are many difficulties in precise analysis. Therefore, in this study, a numerical modeling technique that can quantitatively simulate the GPR signal characteristics according to the degree of fouling of the gravel ballast material was proposed using python-based open-source code gprMax and RSA (Random sequential Absorption) algorithm. To confirm the accuracy of the simulation model, model tests were manufactured and the results were compared to each other. In addition, the identification of the fouling layer in the model test and analysis by various test conditions was evaluated and the results were analyzed.
Old age is often compared as climbing mountains which requires walking out of breath, yet with wider vision. And it is also likened to the estuary where the river flows slowly and broadly into the open sea. Socially, old age has been regarded as a symbol of wisdom and reflection, and elderly people often take the role of sage who leads the community. On the other hand, the dementia, gray hair and wrinkles of old age were sometimes perceived as the decline of intellect and vitality. Especially, in the digital age in which technology makes people more sensitive to physical artificiality, the evaluation of the old age becomes more complex and obscure. In other words, some elderly people can not escape from Confucious convention of the elders first, which causes the denouncement by younger generations. On the other hand, some elderly people are becoming more adaptable to the trend of young people, emerging as the new elderly people. The anti-aging movement, early adaptation of IT, bioengineering regimen also strong for the advanced age. However, as the new elderly people are active in many fields of society, they also face intergenerational conflicts in some areas where remains the overlap between young people and them due to the limited openings in economy and culture. This study is a transdisciplinary research which can be called old age humanities. First of all, this paper looks at the aspects of lifestyles and intergeneration conflicts in old age in four Korean and Western literary works about the old people, and also searches how to improve the quality of the later life of old people, Overall, this paper aims to explore the way the old people can achieve the full life with the help of intergenerational dependency through building aging humanities and new communities for old people.
The purpose of this study was to explore nurses' experiences toward nursing with LGBT patients. A phenomenology was used for the study. Data were collected from August 1st to October 30th, 2020 using open-ended questions by in-depth interviews of the participants in one-on-one setting. Participants were nurses who have experience of caring LGBT patients(n=6). Interview data were analyzed using Colaizzii's method of phenomenology. Nurses' experiences toward nursing with LGBT patients in this study had varied, often understanding and sometimes conflicting. As results of the interviews, the 4 categories and 9 theme clusters were identified. The 4 categories included 'Ambivalence', 'Careful and difficult nursing practice', 'Lack of training for diverse and professional care', 'Becoming a nursing professional'. Nurses in this study had expressed diversely nursing experiences about LGBT patients. Most participants showed complex understanding. This study highlights the lack of adequate didactic and clinical preparation makes nurses feel difficult to care for LGBT patients. Therefore, it should be developed effective training and education programs on LGBT health that nurses received from their educational programs.

Background: Migraine headaches have been associated with sensory hyperactivity and anomalies in social/emotional responses. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the potential involvement of orexin 1 receptors (Orx1R) within the basolateral amygdala (BLA) in the modulation of pain and psychosocial dysfunction in a nitroglycerin (NTG)-induced rat model of migraine. Methods: Adult male Wistar rats were injected with NTG (5 mg/kg, intraperitoneal) every second day over nine days to induce migraine. The experiments were done in the following six groups (6 rats per group): untreated control, NTG, NTG plus vehicle, and NTG groups that were post-treated with intra-BLA microinjection of Orx1R antagonist SB-334867 (10, 20, and 40 nM). Thermal hyperalgesia was assessed using the hot plate and tail-flick tests. Moreover, the elevated plus maze (EPM) and open field (OF) tests were used to assess anxiety-like behaviors. The animals' sociability was evaluated using the three-chamber social task. The NTG-induced photophobia was assessed using a light-dark box. Results: We observed no change in NTG-induced thermal hyperalgesia following administration of SB-334867 (10, 20, and 40 nM). However, SB-334867 (20 and 40 nM) aggravated the NTG-induced anxiogenic responses in both the EPM and OF tasks. The NTG-induced social impairment was overpowered by SB-334867 at all doses. Time spent in the dark chamber of light-dark box was significantly increased in rats treated with SB-334867 (20 and 40 nM/rat). Conclusions: The findings suggest a role for Orx1R within the BLA in control comorbid affective complaints with migraine in rats.
This study presents a method to efficiently advance the Republic of Korea's Unmanned Systems through the analysis of the development of the U.S. Unmanned System Policy. After the occurrence of the September 11 attacks, the U.S. developed Unmanned Systems as a part of RMA and became the leader in this area. The system went through numerous trials and errors during the development and acquisition. From these experiences, the U.S. had embodied Unmanned Systems acquisition methods by establishing Unmanned Systems Development Guidance and DoD Autonomy Community of Interest in 2012. In addition, as diverse unmanned programs started to proceed, it promoted Core Technology development sharing and simplification of functions of the Unmanned Systems to exclude budget-wasting elements such as duplication of programs. The Republic of Korea must politically build a collaborative system between industry/academia/research institute/military and apply evolutionary development strategies from the first step of the development of the Unmanned Systems the future Game Changer. In operations, concepts of the Manned/Unmanned Systems complex operation should be established and intelligent S/W, Open System, and Cyber Security technologies to materialize them developed.

The article is devoted to analyzing the police influence on road safety formation. The globalization processes confirm the study's relevance, provoking population mobility and the need to increase freight traffic. The study aims to identify the factors that affect road safety and the activities of the police and the EU transport safety units. An empirical analysis using factor analysis, correlation analysis, and general scientific methods of cognition were carried out to achieve the goal. The analysis results found that the number of police officers affects road safety, but not in all countries, which confirms the importance of other factors. Based on the analysis results of the scientific literature, the factors affecting transport safety are legislative regulation, the use of innovative technologies, transport infrastructure, geography, and psycho-physical and emotional drivers factors. It has been proved that the police authorities and units cannot fully ensure transport safety in the European Union because the safety is formed by a complex of actions by the state and road users.
The use of microwaves as the energy source for synthesis and sintering of ceramics offers substantial advantages compared to conventional gas-fired and electric resistance furnaces. Benefits include much shorter processing times and reaching the sintering temperature more quickly, resulting in superior final product quality. Most oxide ceramics poorly interact with microwave irradiation at low temperatures; thus, a more complex setup including a susceptor is needed, which makes the whole process very complicated. This investigation pursued a new approach, which enabled us to use microwave irradiation directly in poorly coupled oxides. In many solid-state electrochemical devices, the support is either metal or can be reduced to metal. Metal powders in the support can act as an internal susceptor and heat the entire cell. Then sufficient interaction of microwave irradiation and ceramic material can occur as the sample temperature increases. This microwave heating and exothermic reaction of oxidation of the support can sinter the ceramic very efficiently without any external susceptor. In this study, yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and a Ni-YSZ cermet support were used as an example. The cermet was used as the support, and a YSZ electrolyte was coated and sintered directly using microwave irradiation without the use of any susceptor. The results were compared to a similar cell prepared using a conventional electric furnace. The leakage test and full cell power measurement results revealed a fully leak-free electrolyte. Scanning electron microscopy and density measurements show that microwave sintered samples have lower open porosity in the electrode support than conventional heat treatment. This technique offers an efficient way to directly use microwave irradiation to sinter thin film ceramics without a susceptor.

As society develops and becomes more complex, new and diverse types of disasters such as fine dust and infectious diseases are occurring. However, in the past, there was no PA(Public Address) system that provided accurate information to prepare for such a disaster. In this paper, we propose a public address system that automatically broadcasts an alarm by analyzing polluted air quality data collected from public data and IoT sensors. The warning level varies depending on the air quality, and the information provided by public data may show a significantly different result from the guide area due to various factors such as the distance from the measuring station or the wind direction. To compensate for this, we are going to propose a method for broadcasting by comparing and analyzing data obtained from public data and data from on-site IoT sensors.

It is essential to make a purchase decision to make sure that the furniture matches well with other structures in the room. Moreover, in the Untact Marketing situation caused by the COVID-19 crisis, this is becoming an even more impact factor. Accordingly, methods of measuring length using AR(Augmented Reality) are emerging with the advent of AR open sources such as ARCore and ARKit for furniture arrangement interior simulation. Since this existing method using AR generates a Depth Map based on a flat camera image and it also involves complex three-dimensional calculations, limitations are revealed in work that requires the information of accurate room size using a smartphone. In this paper, we propose a method to accurately measure the size of a room using only the accelerometer and gyroscope sensors built in smartphones without using ARCore or ARKit. In addition, as an example of application using the presented technique, a method for applying a pre-designed room interior to each room is presented.
