  • An analysis of Airbnb and Kozaza will show how valuable and rare resource can have an impact on company performances. Airbnb applied the sharing economy platform, and this business model had disrupted the hospitality industry. Thus, this paper will investigate a Korean company called Kozaza which had benchmarked Airbnb. Furthermore, it will apply the theory of VRIO framework, which consists of how valuable, rare, costly to imitate (imitability), and organization (exploited by the organization) to find competitiveness of Kozaza in the hospitality industry. Thus, it will attempt to show that Kozaza's business model of utilizing the unused resource of Hanok (traditional Korean house) and partnerships with Hanokstay, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Soul Tourism Organization and others have enhanced their resource and capability to strengthen their business model. Furthermore, this research will explore how Kozaza can competitively be successful in the future.

  • In typical block-based video coding, the objective of RC(Rate Control) is to select the quantization parameters so that the encoder produces bits at the rate of the channel and the overall distortion is minimized. To reduce the huge amount of computations required for offline RC, there have been significant efforts to speed up the process of video encoders. Those efforts have been mainly focused on the modes for bit rate and distortion in types of coders, in terms of the quantization parameters. Because previous works related to model based online RC are based on statistics of previous frame, it occurs the problem such that allocates bits unequally without regard to current frame statistics. In this thesis, an equal bit allocation scheme using current frame statistics is proposed.

  • This study investigates how adolescents' smartphone attachment, social anxiety, and offline and smartphone network sizes are related to their friendship in regards to maintaining either a strong or weak bond. Based on an online survey involving 402 adolescent smartphone users in South Korea, this study found that smartphone attachment was positively related to a strong ties friendship maintenance and negatively related to weak ties friendships. Similarly, social anxiety was found to be negatively associated with friendship maintenance for both strong and weak - tie relationships. More importantly, this study revealed that the types and size of social networks moderated the relationships among adolescents with smartphone attachment, social anxiety, and friendship maintenance through smartphones.

  • These days, businesses, in both online and offline, have started accepting cryptocurrencies as payment methods. Even in countries like El Salvador, cryptocurrencies are recognized as fiat currencies. Meanwhile, publicly known, but not patched software vulnerabilities are security threats to not only software users but also to our society in general. As the status of cryptocurrencies has gradually increased, the impact of security vulnerabilities related to cryptocurrencies on our society has increased as well. In this paper, we first analyze vulnerabilities from the two major cryptocurrency vendors of Bitcoin and Ethereum in a quantitative manner with the respect to the CVSS, to see how the vulnerabilities are roughly structured in those systems. Then we introduce a modified AML vulnerability discovery model for the vulnerability datasets from the two vendors, after showing the original AML dose not accurately represent the vulnerability discovery trends on the datasets. The analysis shows that the modified model performs better than the original AML model for the vulnerability datasets from the major cryptocurrencies.

  • As migrants develop businesses abroad, entrepreneurship needs specific strategies due to some barriers when establishing and doing businesses. This paper examines the kinds of problems that have been faced in Indonesian migrant entrepreneurships in Taiwan and how the entrepreneurs cope with the difficulties. They use structural and cultural strategies for survival, seize the opportunities for self-development, and develop future careers. Research result shows that the limitations of Indonesian entrepreneurships in Taiwan are related to institutional issues, migrant status, business regulations, resource-providing institutions, language barriers, competition among migrants and locals, and capital. Hence, migrant entrepreneurs must conduct strategic actions to continue their businesses by developing innovations to grow and survive. Some measures include changing from offline to online marketing especially when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, product diversification using migrants and local people's assistance and networks, and setting competitive prices. This paper is based on qualitative research. The data were obtained through interviews in East Java-Indonesia and in Taiwan in 2022. The data were analysed using the descriptive analysis with sociological perspectives.

  • Cyberviolence is a new form of violence encompassing any online activity that results in harm to the psychological, emotional, financial, or physical well-being of an individual or group. These adverse activities often lead to serious offline and long-lasting negative impact, especially on children and adolescents whose development has not matured sufficiently. Therefore, it is more important for mental health professionals to be well informed about the rapidly evolving forms of cyberviolence and its risks and to respond appropriately. This article provides an overview of the concept and unique features of cyberviolence trauma in minors in South Korea while also examining ongoing efforts to explore and implement effective treatment programs. Cyberbullying and digital sexual abuse, the most common forms of cyberviolence experienced by minors in South Korea, are explored in detail. Additionally, this review proposes directions for future research and the efforts that clinicians should focus on.

  • Recently, to satisfy the customer's requirements for glasses such as rating of glasses or choosing, glasses industry is supporting various types and tools for making one's appearance good. Among various forms of online shopping with the development of online shopping and the rapid growth of IT technology, the intense competition also more deepen. The strategies for differentiated marketing and features for competitiveness of businesses in the online and offline shopping areas are required that our marketing target be settled the glasses marketing by analyzing. In this research, we study the strategy for implementing a site for glasses to customizing a person not to distinguish whether the customer is older or younger etc. For the purpose of implementing a site for glasses, first, we suggest a differentiated methodology through analysis of glasses industry service and features of existential representative glasses sites. Through the activation of the marketing strategies, marketing in a glasses market is expected to be competitive.

  • Many countries are establishing and operating blended learning that combines the advantages of online and offline education. However, online education lecture-based Mooc courses have a very low level, with a graduation rate of less than 5-10%. Therefore, in order to increase the graduation rate of students taking online Mooc distance education lectures that anyone can easily take lectures anytime, anywhere on the web-based basis, it is necessary to introduce automatic analysis of students' understanding level of lectures and an automatic academic warning system. Moreover, in order to enter an advanced education country, it is necessary to develop an automatic judgment SW for wrong answer rate, automatic summary SW for lectures, and automatic analysis SW education for lecture-based weak subjects based on mixed learning levels. In order to improve this problem, in this paper, we proposed and simulated an automatic summarization system for lecture contents, an automatic warning system for incorrect answers, and an automatic judgment algorithm for weak subjects.

  • The integrity of the gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is vital to the safety of an entire power grid. However, there are some limitations on the techniques of detecting and diagnosing partial discharge (PD) induced by insulation defects in GIS. This paper proposes a joint electro-chemical detection method to resolve the problems of incomplete PD data source and also investigates a new unique fault diagnosis method to enhance the reliability of data processing. By employing ultra-high frequency method for online monitoring and the chemical method for detecting SF6 decomposition offline, the acquired data can form a more complete interpretation of PD signals. By utilizing DS evidence theory, the diagnostic results with tests on the four typical defects show the validity of the new fault diagnosis system. With higher accuracy and lower computation cost, the present research provides a promising way to make a more accurate decision in practical application.

  • This paper concerns developing an integrated online/offline light facility management system using internet and building a database system for control box and street light. Also, we designed the system to minimize the disparity with the conventional management system by referring to an old management ledger format. Thus, the proposed method may enable the system manager to administer the light facility efficiently and to reduce the manpower and maintenance cost, economically.
