  • The rapid change of consumer expectations in shopping environments has required retailers to actively adopt omni-channel services, however, limited research exists on the topic. We identify the effect of consumer's utilitarian shopping value on expectations for omni-channel services. An online survey was conducted on 176 subjects who had experience using omni-channel services. We employed Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as our theoretical model to explore the mechanisms of consumers' acceptance of omni-channel services in fashion. We used SPSS ver. 22.0 and AMOS ver. 22.0 programs to analyze data. The results indicate that utilitarian shopping value has a positive effect on performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence for omni-channel services. Performance expectancy for omni-channel services also has a positive effect on the purchase intentions of fashion products. Effort expectancy for omni-channel services also positively increases the purchase intentions of fashion products. Last, the social effect of omni-channel services has a significant positive effect on purchase intention. All the hypotheses were supported. The research findings can provide the fashion distribution industry with useful basic data to understand the needs of consumers who use multi-channels when establishing a new channel or marketing strategy.

  • This study verified the difference in the influence on the value principles held by the consumers while examining the influence of the characteristics of the online shopping mall on the purchase intent by using a TAM2 model. First, the characteristics of online shopping malls were proven to have a positive effect on the perceived ease of use and perceived utility. Second, a look at the effect of the online shopping mall characteristics on the emotional response shows that only the system quality and product quality variables had a positive effect on the emotional response. Third, the perceived ease of use, perceived utility and emotional response of online shopping mall users had a positive effect on their perceived value. Fourth, multi-group analysis was conducted to examine the difference between utilitarian goods and hedonic goods by categorizing what was purchased at online shopping malls. The results showed differences between the groups. This study is attempted to investigate various influencing factors on consumers' intention to revisit online shopping malls. In addition, the author also attempted to understand the behavior of online shopping mall visitors by dealing with more than the technical attributes and emotional aspects of shopping malls.

The results were further analyzed to characterize each individual shopping malls, upon which the design was compared with the five main trends for the season provided by three fashion research agencies in order to study the level of trend acceptance. Studies showed that 'Romantic Sake' trend was most widely accepted, followed by 'Eco Nature' which most reflected the characteristics of Spring. 'Modern Ethenic' trend was most aggressively accepted at more upscale shopping malls targeting older demographic, while " Play Urban' was highly accepted by shopping malls specializing in young casual. Due to the disadvantage of not being able to try on the items before purchase, styles following the 'City Luxe' trend featuring fitted suits showed the lowest trend acceptance. Amongst the design elements, color was most widely accepted.

  • 'Live commerce', a brand new format of online shopping, is actively promoted in China recently. This research focused on 'Taobao-live', China's largest live commerce platform to investigate the relationships among para-social interaction, source characteristics (e.g., trustworthiness, attractiveness, and expertise), perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and shopping intention based on Technology Acceptance Model. A total of 536 Taobao live users were recruited through the Chinese research platform. The results showed that para-social interactivity positively affected perceived ease of use and usefulness, whereas the source characteristics had no significant effect on consumers' perceptions. Furthermore, higher perceived ease of use generated higher perceived usefulness, and both perceived ease of use and usefulness positively influenced consumers' intention to shop through Taobao live. This research can provide theoretical background for understanding the potential of live commerce platforms and help brands come up with effective online shopping strategies using live commerce platforms.

This research employed Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework and was extended to introduce fashion innovativeness, clothing involvement, consumers' needs for uniqueness, computer self-efficacy as external factors. A total of 381 copies of questionnaires were collected online. The subjects of this study were women. The collected date were analysed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, correlation and path analysis. The results indicated that fashion innovativeness, clothing involvement and consumers' needs for uniqueness had a significant positive affect on perceived usefulness. Consumers' needs for uniqueness and computer self-efficacy had a significant positive affect on perceived ease of use. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were found to influence buying intention toward fashion goods through global internet shopping malls. The results of this study also suggested that perceived ease of use was actually a causal antecedent to perceived usefulness. This study reveled that employing TAM to investigate the buying intention toward fashion goods through global internet shopping malls was appropriate. This study also provides empirical analysis that can serve as a guide for marketers of the fashion industry in activating global internet shopping malls.

  • The growth of online malls encourages the existing offline stores to manage their online stores or reinforce the purchasing service through related mobile applications (apps). This may seem to be the omni-channel strategy for connecting the existing customers to online shopping. This study, research on offline stores' acceptance of and satisfaction with smart phone apps, attempted to arrange some factors allowing consumers to be satisfied with such apps, and examine whether the satisfaction with the apps lead to that with the stores based on the EMTAM (Extended Mobile Technology Acceptance Model). In particular, the existing stores trying to enhance the omni-channel put on emphasis on the synergy between online and offline stores, rather than replace offline store with online ones. The results of an analysis showed that the factors influencing the satisfaction with apps included mobile usefulness (MU), mobile ease of use (MEOU) and mobile enjoyment (MEJ), and that the satisfaction with them had an effect on that with stores. On the basis of the findings, this study summarizes theoretical and practical suggestions.
