The online shopping industry in China has experienced rapid growth, particularly in the infant goods sector, which is considered highly promising in terms of its growth potential. This growth can be attributed to the Chinese market's increasing economic power, the implementation of new policies concerning marriage and childbirth, changes in family structure, and evolving and diverse consumer demands for infant products. While the infant clothing industry has emerged as a significant player in the Chinese market, there is still a lack of sufficient academic research on the online shopping environment specific to China's infant clothing industry. The objective of this study was to explore the influence of online experiential marketing on brand loyalty and purchase intention among Chinese consumers of children's wear. The study findings indicated that the emotional experience, action experience, and relationship experience encountered by consumers during online interactions had a positive and significant impact on brand loyalty. Both perceptual experience and cognitive experience had a positive and significant influence on consumers' willingness to make a purchase. The study also revealed that brand loyalty had a positive and significant effect on consumers' purchase intention. The perception of online experiential marketing, brand loyalty, and purchase intention varied based on individual attributes, and gender was found to moderate the relationship between online experiential marketing and brand loyalty.
Advanced online environment and communication technology have made the e-commerce environments evolved rapidly. In the e-commerce area, one of the most important concepts regarding the relationship between seller and buyer is the "trust." Considering the purpose of purchase and satisfaction of website, the users may face problems such as consumer's transaction security or personal information sharing when they make transactions over web sites. It could be difficult to pursue the goal for the users to purchase product or service over online if the seller or service provider cannot establish trust to the customers. In this paper, through multi-dimensional viewpoints of trust, satisfaction can be accounted for by cue-based trust and experienced trust. The purchase intention mediates the experienced trust when online users purchase products or use online service.
This study is designed to examine differences in the well known relationship between risk perception and purchase intention when shopping fashion products Online. In addition, the role of attitude in the process was investigated. 155 Korean college students and 165 U.S. college students participated in the study. Structural equation modeling with risk factors(product delivery, transaction, service) as antecedents, purchase intention as the consequence, and attitude as the mediating variable were analyzed. Results indicated that, for Korean respondents, product delivery risk and transaction risk had significant indirect effect on purchase intention through attitude. Service risk had significant direct effect. For U.S. respondents, product delivery risk had both direct and indirect effect on purchase intention whereas transaction risk had only indirect effect. Service risk did not have significant influence on purchase intention.
Nowadays the advantages of multichannel retailing strategy in fashion business have been widely discussed, but empirical research on fashion retail has been limited. The purpose of this research is to provide some ideas on multichannel retailing strategy to fashion retailers through the case of UNIQLO. The online survey was conducted on each 100 female customers in their 20s, 30s, 40s living in seoul among UNIQLO customers. The survey was consisted of measurement items for UNIQLO's online store image and offline store image, customer satisfaction, purchase intention, and demographic attributes. The online survey was found that 30.3% of UNIQLO's multichannel customers bought a product from offline store using online shopping mall as a search channel, on the other hand, 20.7% of UNIQLO's multichannel customers bought a product from online store using offline store as a search channel. Factors of the online shopping mall image were consisted of shopping convenience, product information, price policy, trust. And factors of the offline store image were consisted of trust and store, product information, service. Some factors of online store and offline store image had impact on multichannel customer satisfaction. And, customer satisfaction also had impact on purchase intention of UNIQLO product. Some suggestion for the future of multichannel research in fashion retailing was given.
Online shopping is increasing worldwide. Providing customers actual feeling of the product is essential in online shopping. Various technological aids can be used to support visual feeling. When delivering visual tangibility, it is important to study which attributes are significant in product presentations that best portray the actual tactileness. In this perspective, we suggest 'visual tactility' (VT) as a parameter for delivering tangibility in visual presentation. By measuring visual tactility in different product types, latent factors of visual tactility were identified and their influence on purchase intention was determined in this study. We defined material properties of touch such as surface texture, hardness, temperature, and weight as Visual Tactility (VT), the influential factor of tactility. We investigated the influence of VT on product purchase intention and analyzed tactileness within four online product presentations: single static picture, multi static pictures, zoom, and video. Our purpose was to investigate underlying effects of visual tactile attributes on touch and determine their influences according to online product presentation formats. Our results showed that visual tactility positively affected purchase intention and that each attribute differed in importance according to product type. Moreover, this study revealed a strong relation between online product presentation and VT attributes. These results provide a guide when selecting which presentation is optimal for delivering a product's tactility in online shopping situation.
Purpose: The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated and triggered changes in online shopping especially in an emerging market. This paper develops a modification of SERVQUAL model to examine the relationship between individual dimensions of e-service quality, online trust and purchase intentions in singular online shopping platform. Research design, data and methodology: Data from an online survey of 385 Lazada's shoppers were used to test the research model. The structural equation modeling technique was performed to test the research model. Results: The analytical results revealed that five dimensions of e-service quality were positively correlated with one another whereas some dimensions were negatively correlated with purchase intentions. The results of this study provide new insight into the literature as well as practical implications for marketers especially in Thai online market. Conclusion: This study develops the instrument dimensions of e-service quality through modifying the SERVQUAL model to examine the e-commerce context and to testify how these individual dimensions are interlinked with one another. It also suggests that responsiveness has two-sided affects that in responses which are too prompt and insistent could make the customer feel uncomfortable and perhaps ending up with no interaction and transaction.
This study examined: 1) the effects of fashion luxury product price discounts in social commerce on perceived benefit and purchase intention, and 2) differences in such effects by social commerce trust, brand and design preferences for luxury products as well as social commerce and online luxury product purchase experiences. Three discount rates representing high, mid, and low for a luxury product sold in social commerce were manipulated and tested on female consumers and 486 online responses were analyzed. The results revealed that the price discount affected perceived benefit but did not affect purchase intention. Benefits were highly perceived at high and mid discount rates compared to the low rate. Social commerce trust, brand preference, and design preference affected perceived benefit and purchase intention, but the interaction effect with price discount was observed only in the design preference to perceived benefit. The purchase experience of online luxury products also affected purchase intention. Implications from the results were also discussed.
In this paper, we posit that time-related effects (i.e., the importance of saving time) on patronage preference for shopping online will be moderated by consumer characteristics. To explore these moderating effects, we empirically examine the moderating roles of consumer characteristics on the respective effects of shopping-time-saved and delivery on online purchase preference. On the basis of analyses performed on data gleaned from an Internet-based survey, this study demonstrate that time effects related to both shopping-time-saved and delivery on online purchase preference are more pronounced for consumers who are male, young, and more starved for time. In addition, the effect of delivery time on online patronage preference is amplified by disposable income, but attenuated by online shopping experience. Through our analyses, we also find that Japanese consumers value delivery time to a greater degree than Chinese and American consumers do.
With the growing trend of online global market, customers have further technological capabilities in searching for information and online shopping on the Internet. In addition, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) is a significant factor that influences customer purchase intention. However, the perspective of online users on hotel websites is still in its infancy, especially in various cultural contexts. The current study examined a theoretical framework of hotel websites to understand how online users perceive the importance of hotel websites with regard to influencing purchase intention, within the content of Thai online users through an online questionnaire survey. Findings show that usability positively influences online Thai users' satisfaction. Moreover, eWOM has a significant positive influence on satisfaction, but eWOM has an indirect effect on the intention to purchase. Practical implications are further discussed.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of service quality and food quality on purchase intention in the electronic commerce of food products. Specifically, the relationship between purchase intention and food quality and service quality was tested based on customer satisfaction and trust, which were measured using the structural equation modeling method. Quality of service was found to affect purchase intention; however, food quality had no positive effects on purchase. Additional analyses should be conducted owing to the conflicting results of the present study. Although the amount of food bought online is increasing rapidly every year, research regarding online food purchasing is not being actively conducted. The results of the present study will help food sellers, buyers, and researchers.
