Lightweight Intrusion Detection of Rootkit with VMI-Based Driver Separation Mechanism

  • Intrusion detection techniques based on virtual machine introspection (VMI) provide high temper-resistance in comparison with traditional in-host anti-virus tools. However, the presence of semantic gap also leads to the performance and compatibility problems. In order to map raw bits of hardware to meaningful information of virtual machine, detailed knowledge of different guest OS is required. In this work, we present VDSM, a lightweight and general approach based on driver separation mechanism: divide semantic view reconstruction into online driver of view generation and offline driver of semantics extraction. We have developed a prototype of VDSM and used it to do intrusion detection on 13 operation systems. The evaluation results show VDSM is effective and practical with a small performance overhead.

  • The recent stabilization of the Internet is now driving every aspect of life into an Internet presence. In the coming years, the Internet will see growth in numbers unlike the world has ever seen. The subject of this study is the Research Study on the Products Purchase Type of On-line Shopping Mall Buyer. Also, this paper is to examine the relations between customer satisfaction and intensity of repurchase intention and complaining behavior in on-line context. On-line shopping customer depths interview it led and the online afternotes trust evaluation dimension was discovered the of useful characteristic, intention characteristic, exaggerating characteristic and on-line afternotes with or without. From these results, this paper suggests effective marketing strategy to the marketer who plans to run on-line shopping mall in the near future and also to the marketer who plans to sell products through the on-line shopping mall.

연속시간 선형시스템에 대한 탐색화된 정책반복법 (Explorized Policy Iteration For Continuous-Time Linear Systems)

  • This paper addresses the problem that policy iteration (PI) for continuous-time (CT) systems requires explorations of the state space which is known as persistency of excitation in adaptive control community, and as a result, proposes a PI scheme explorized by an additional probing signal to solve the addressed problem. The proposed PI method efficiently finds in online fashion the related CT linear quadratic (LQ) optimal control without knowing the system matrix A, and guarantees the stability and convergence to the LQ optimal control, which is proven in this paper in the presence of the probing signal. A design method for the probing signal is also presented to balance the exploration of the state space and the control performance. Finally, several simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed explorized PI method.

Toward Trustworthy Social Network Services: A Robust Design of Recommender Systems

  • In recent years, electronic commerce and online social networks (OSNs) have experienced fast growth, and as a result, recommendation systems (RSs) have become extremely common. Accuracy and robustness are important performance indexes that characterize customized information or suggestions provided by RSs. However, nefarious users may be present, and they can distort information within the RSs by creating fake identities (Sybils). Although prior research has attempted to mitigate the negative impact of Sybils, the presence of these fake identities remains an unsolved problem. In this paper, we introduce a new weighted link analysis and influence level for RSs resistant to Sybil attacks. Our approach is validated through simulations of a broad range of attacks, and it is found to outperform other state-of-the-art recommendation methods in terms of both accuracy and robustness.

온라인 프라이버시 침해 우려에 관한 컨조인트 분석 : 한국에서의 사례 (A Conjoint Analysis of Online Information Privacy Concerns: A case in Korea)

  • The rapid growth of the Internet has increased the amount of transmission of personally identifiable information. At the same time, with new Internet related technologies, organizations are trying to collect and access more personal information than before, which in turn makes individuals concern more about their information privacy. For their successful businesses, organizations have tried to alleviate these concerns in two ways: (1) by offering privacy policies that promise certain level of privacy protection; (2) by offering benefits such as financial gains or convenience. In this paper, we interpret these actions in the context of the information processing theory of motivation. This paper follows Hann et al.(2007)'s methods to analyze Internet users privacy concerns in Korea and tries to compare the findings. Our research objectives are as follows: First, we analyze privacy concern mitigation strategies in the framework of the expectancy theory of motivation. Subsequently, we show how the expectancy theory based framework is linked o the conjoint analysis. We empirically validate the predictions that the means to mitigate privacy concerns are associated with positive valences resulting in an increase in motivational score. In order to accommodate real-life contexts, we investigate these means in trade-off situation, where an organization may only be able to offer partially complete privacy protection and/or promotions and/or convenience, While privacy protection (secondary use, improper access) are associated with positive valences, we also find that financial gains can significantly increase the individuals' motivational score of a website in Korea. One important implication of this empirical analysis is that organizations may possess means to actively manage the privacy concerns of Internet users. Our findings show that privacy policies are valued by users in Korea just as in the US or Singapore. Hence, organizations can capitalize on this, by stating their privacy policy more prominently. Also organizations would better think of strategies or means that may increase online users' willingness to provide personal information. Since financial incentives also significantly increase the individuals' motivational score of website participation, we can quantify the value of website privacy protection in terms of monetary gains. We find that Korean Internet users value the total privacy protection (protection against errors, improper access, and secondary use of personal information) as worthy as KW 25,550, which is about US 28. Having done this conjoint analysis, we next adopt cluster analysis methodology. We identify two distinct segments of Korea's internet users-privacy guardians and information sellers, and convenience seekers. The immediate implication of our study is that firms with online presence must differentiate their services to serve these distinct segments to best meet the needs of segments with differing trade-offs between money and privacy concerns. Information sellers are distinguished from privacy guardians by prior experience of information provision, To the extent that businesses cannot observe an individual's prior experience, they must use indirect methods to induce segmentation by self-selection as suggested in classic economics literature of price discrimination, Businesses could use monetary rewards to attract information sellers to provide personal information. One step forward from the societal trends that emphasize the need of legal protection of information privacy, our study wants to encourage organizations and related authorities to have the viewpoints to consider both importance of privacy protection and the necessity of information trade for the growth of e-commerce.

웹보메트릭스를 활용한 지역관광자원 발굴 및 네트워크 분석: 대구 수성구를 중심으로 (Identifying Regional Tourism Resources Using Webometric Network Analysis: A case of Suseong-gu in Daegu, South Korea)

  • 이 연구는 웹보메트릭스를 활용한 지역관광자원 발굴 및 뉴스 네트워크를 대구 수성구를 중심으로 분석한 연구이다. 데이터는 Bing, Naver 등 웹 데이터를 사용했으며, 네트워크 분석과 댓글 분석을 하였다. 연구문제는 총 세가지로 첫째, 대구 내부에서 수성구의 검색엔진 최적화 수준은 어떠한가? 둘째, 수성구 관광자원의 온라인 출현도는 어떠한가? 셋째, 높은 온라인 출현도를 보이는 관광자원의 뉴스 기사와 댓글은 어떤 내용이 주를 이루는가?이며 그 결과를 보면 첫째, 수성구는 검색엔진 최적화 수준이 대구 내부에서 하위권에 속하며 이는 수성구 관광을 언급한 자료들의 온라인 가시성이 미약한 수준임을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 수성구에서 온라인 출현도가 높은 관광자원들은 대부분 수성못 중심이다. 셋째, 수성못 언론 보도의 내용과 댓글을 살펴본 결과 수성못 교통문제와 열대야가 최대 관심사로 나타나, 관광기반시설에 대한 접근성 개선과 관광자원 개발이 요구된다. 이러한 분석결과는 수성구 관광자원 관련 정책의 개발 및 서비스 운영에 기여 할 수 있고 지역 경제에 대한 해답이 될 것이다.

사용자 인지 제고를 위한 개인정보 보호정책 알림방식의 비교 연구 (The Impact of Privacy Policy Layout on Users' Information Recognition)

  • IT서비스가 발달함에 따라 기업의 가치창출 수단으로 개인정보의 활용도가 높아졌고, 오 남용 및 유출의 위험도 증가하고 있다. 웹사이트 이용 및 서비스 내용을 담고 있는 개인정보 보호정책은 법에 의하여 의무적으로 공지되고 있음에도 불구하고, 낮은 가독성으로 인하여 사용자에게 내용이 효과적으로 전달되지 않는 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 사용자의 정보인식효과를 높일 수 있도록 아이콘을 활용한 개인정보 보호정책의 개선된 레이어드 방식을 제안한다. 기존 텍스트 또는 테이블 방식과 비교할 때 개선된 레이어드 방식에 대하여 사용자들이 얼마나 기업의 개인정보 취급내용을 이해하고 감각적으로 풍부하게 전달받을 수 있는지 실험을 통해 사용자 정보인식 효과를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 정보이해가능성과 생동감, 재인에 대하여 개선된 레이어드 방식이 기존의 텍스트 방식이나 테이블 방식보다 효과적이다. 사용자에게 정보를 효과적으로 전달하는 정보 시각화 측면에서 아이콘과 같은 시각적인 요소를 도입하여 개인정보 취급방침 방식을 개선한다면, 프라이버시 정책에 대한 사용자 관심이 높아지는 등 개인정보권 보호에 실질적인 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임의 특성이 온라인 구전에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Mobile Social Network Game Characteristics in Electronic Word of Mouth)

  • 본 연구는 기존에 존재하는 다양한 형태의 게임에 대한 선행 연구를 기반으로 모빌리티와 소셜 요인을 부각시킨 새로운 게임형태인 모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임에 대해 연구하고 기존의 게임과는 차별화된 모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임의 특성이 게임 유저들의 온라인 구전에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과 사용자 간의 상호적 관계, 시간과 장소의 구애를 받지 않고 지속적인 접속이 필요 없는 특성들이 몰입을 증가 시킨다는 사실을 밝혀냈다. 하지만 미디어와 상호작용 과정 속에서 개인이 지각하는 사회적 실재감과 비동기성은 만족에 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 몰입은 만족보다 온라인 구전에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 이러한 연구결과는 향후 국내 모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임 산업의 지속적인 발전에 기여할 수 있는 참고자료가 될 수 있을 것이라고 기대한다.

공정프로파일 모니터링에서 웨이블릿기 반 T2-검정과 신경회로망의 성능비교 (Performance Comparisons of Wavelet Based T2-Test and Neural Network in Monitoring Process Profiles)

  • 최근 공정 및 계측기술이 발전함에 따라 밀링, 그라인딩, 브로칭 등 공정작업의 온라인 모니터링에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 온라인 모니터링 시스템은 공구의 마모나 파손 등과 같은 공정변화를 가급적 조기에 발견함으로써 설비를 보호하고 불필요한 비용의 발생을 억제하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다 본 논문에서는 온라인 공정관측 데이터가 프로파일로 주어질 때 웨이블릿변환을 이용한 $T^2$-검정과 신경회로망의 모니터링 성능에 대해 고찰한다. 2006년 Axinte가 제시한 절삭력 데이터를 이용하여 수치실험을 수행한 결과, 웨이블릿기반 $T^2$는 양호한 검출력을 나타냈지만 그 검사특성은 자기상관에 매우 민감하게 반응하였다. 반면, 자기상관의 존재 하에서도 신경회로망은 $T^2$-검정에 비해 매우 안정적인 검사특성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 웨이블릿기반 $T^2$-검정에 노이즈분석을 위한 적응적인 요소가 필요하다는 점을 시사한다

COVID-19 and changes in Korean consumers' dietary attitudes and behaviors

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak has dramatically changed nearly every aspect of our lives. Although Dietary lifestyle includes attitudes and behaviors to meet their most basic needs, but few studies have examined the pattern of changes in dietary lifestyle driven by COVID-19. This study explores changes in dietary attitudes and behaviors among Korean consumers after COVID-19. SUBJECTS/METHODS: An online survey was conducted with 549 Korean adults aged 20 and older to identify general demographics and changes in dietary attitudes and behaviors. Data were collected from Oct 12 to Oct 18, 2020. Frequency, percentage, and mean values were calculated and a K-means cluster analysis was performed to categorize consumers based on the 5S of dietary attitudes (i.e., savor-oriented, safety-oriented, sustainability-oriented, saving-oriented, and socializing-oriented). RESULTS: Findings indicate consumers considered safety, health, and freshness to be most important when choosing groceries and prepared meal such as home meal replacement and delivery food. Among the types of services, a large proportion of consumers increased their delivery and take-out services. Regarding retail channels, the increase in the use of online retailers was remarkable compared to offline retailers. Finally, consumers were classified into four segments based on changes in dietary attitudes: "most influenced," "seeking safety and sustainability," "abstaining from savor and socializing," and "least influenced." Each type of consumer exhibited statistically significant differences by sex, age, household composition, presence of disease, and perceived risk of COVID-19. CONCLUSIONS: This exploratory study provides initial insights for future research by identifying various aspects of dietary attitudes and behaviors among Korean consumers after COVID-19.
