Analyses on the Perception's Differences of Online Teaching Activity according to the Level of Self-Directed Learning in Higher Education Using the IPA Technique

  • The purpose of this study was to identify learners' perception of teaching activities in online classes that were forcibly switched due to COVID-19, and to compare and analyze differences in importance and performance of online teaching activities according to the level of self-directed learning in university students. To address these goals, 31 university students who took courses operated as online classes at university participated in this study, and the collected data were analyzed according to IPA procedures and methods. As a result, for online teaching activities, class attendance check and encouragement, clarity of class objectives, the ability to deliver the content of learning, and the ability of the instructor to deliver lectures were identified as factors to be constantly emphasized. Depending on the level of self-directed learning, there were significant differences between importance and performance in high level learners' interaction strategy with instructor, interaction strategy with learner, and timely provision of instructor's feedback. On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the importance and performance of online teaching activities for learners with a low level of self-directed learning. Based on these research results, several implications for the design of effective online teaching activities in future university education were proposed.

  • This research investigates the feasibility of Web technology as a means of delivering facility information for better support facility operation and maintenance. Our research proposes a Web-based feedback system as a pragmatic solution to the limitations of current FM (Facility Management) processes. In practice work orders and records are often misplaced resulting in lower efficiency and customer satisfaction. This may be overcome by a system that states information digitally and provides a Web-based interface. The interface could allow customers to report facility problems, trace their work order in progress, view schedules for maintenance and provide feedback for service online. The benefit for a FM department is that it can receive feedback on performance which would improve the quality of service and build a record of practical experiences.

Maternal Nursing Online Practice Experience

  • This study was phenomenological analysis of maternal nursing of online practice experience. The study participants were students in between the ages of 20 to 25 who participated in the online practice of maternal nursing and conducted to a total of three interviews until the meaning were no longer derived. The data collection period was from May 26 to June 5, 2021, and analysis was conducted simultaneously with the datas have collected. The collected data were analyzed using the Giorgi's Phenomenological Analysis Method, and the study resulted in five categories (Opportunity to repeat, Systematic Scenarios, Immediate nursing intervention feedback, Beneficial hands-on experience, Different case experiences), 11 subcomponents, and 21 Semantic units. Based on the results of this study, the following conclusions were obtained. In maternal nursing, nursing students could experience more systematic and diverse case online than experiences throughout clinical practice, and achievement was also increased in theory learning for online practice. In other words, the online practice of maternal nursing was suitable for various content compositions that could not be experienced in clinical practice, but it is deemed urgent to have a program in Korean suitable for Korean culture. In future studies, this researcher hope to produce a maternal nursing practice program in Korean.

Learners' Perceptions and Experiences of Using e-Textbooks in Online Learning Environment

  • This study explored middle and high school students' learning experiences using e-textbooks in online learning courses. Data were collected from in-depth interviews. The interviewees for this study were 19 students who enrolled voluntarily in an online mathematics and science inquiry program, actively participated in the online learning. The students generally have high academic achievement and motivation for learning in science and mathematics. Data were analyzed based on a grounded theory approach. As a result, the characteristics of the online learning environment using e-textbooks were conceptualized via three different categories including temporal, spatial, and technical. Such characteristics of the learning environment were able to provoke self-directed learning, extended learning, interactive learning, in-depth learning, improved ICT literacy, and formation of positive emotions and learning habits. Most of the learners showed positive feedback towards the use of e-textbooks, while some mentioned the technical limitations compared to conventional paper-based learning. This study suggested that e-textbooks are likely to induce positive experiences for learners in the context of online learning, so it is necessary to design contents that utilize various functions and advantages of electronic teaching materials in order to use e-textbooks effectively.

  • This paper presents an adaptive feedback based actuator fault detection and tolerant control algorithms for longitudinal functional safety of autonomous driving. In order to ensure the functional safety of autonomous vehicles, fault detection and tolerant control algorithms are needed for sensors and actuators used for autonomous driving. In this study, adaptive feedback control algorithm to compute the longitudinal acceleration for autonomous driving has been developed based on relationship function using states. The relationship function has been designed using feedback gains and error states for adaptation rule design. The coefficients in the relationship function have been estimated using recursive least square with multiple forgetting factors. The MIT rule has been adopted to design the adaptation rule for feedback gains online. The stability analysis has been conducted based on Lyapunov direct method. The longitudinal acceleration computed by adaptive control algorithm has been compared to the actual acceleration for fault detection of actuators used for longitudinal autonomous driving.

온라인 추천시스템에서 고객 사용의도를 위한 시스템 투명성과 피드백의 영향 (Influences of Transparency and Feedback on Customer Intention to Reuse Online Recommender Systems)

  • 고객 취향에 가장 적합한 제품을 선택하는 것은 전자상거래에서 중요한 문제이다. 전자상거래 그러나 온라인 추천시스템으로서 알려진 소셜 필터링은 전자상거래에서 기술적 접근이 활발히 연구되어왔다. 온라인 추천시스템은 사용자의 개인적 취향과 관련하여 적절한 제품을 필터링하여 제공함으로서 사용자의 의사결정 품질을 향상시키는 것에 목적을 두고 있으며 그 결과 사용자의 제품 탐색과 선택에 대한 지원이 가능하다. 그러나 대다수 추천시스템의 선행연구들은 추천 알고리즘의 정확성을 향상시키는 것에 집중해 왔으며 사용자 기반의 인터페이스나 사용자 관점의 사용방식에 대한 연구는 매우 적은 실정이다. 추천시스템의 추천 상황에 대한 시스템 투명성과 사용자의 추천에 대한 피드백을 통한 추천방식 개선을 통하여 본 연구는 사용자 관점의 추천시스템 활용에 대한 시스템 투명성과 피드백의 영향력을 파악하고자 하였다. 실험을 통한 연구 결과에 따라, 시스템 투명성과 사용자 피드백 모두 추천시스템에 대한 사용자의 인지된 신뢰, 프로세스 가치, 인지된 즐거움에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 인지된 신뢰, 프로세스 가치, 즐거움은 사용자가 추천시스템을 지속적으로 사용하기 위한 의도를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다.

비대면 의사소통 교양 수업 사례 연구 - 성찰일지 및 피드백 활동을 중심으로 (A Case Study of Untact Communication liberal Arts Class - focusing on Reflection Journals and Feedback Activities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 의사소통 교양 수업을 수강한 공학계열 학생들을 대상으로 비대면 온라인 수업에서 학업성찰일지 작성과 피드백 활동 경험을 분석하여 그 효과에 대해 알아보고, 이러한 학습 전략이 학생들의 학습동기를 촉진시키고 수업 참여와 몰입에 유용한지를 확인하는 데 있다. 수업 효과를 알아보기 위해 학습동기에 대한 사전·사후 검사를 실시하였고, 학생들의 성찰일지와 심층면담한 내용을 질적 연구 방법 중 하나인 주제 분석 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 성찰일지와 피드백 활동이 개인의 학습 이해, 몰입, 태도 등에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고, 학습동기 및 학습태도에도 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 학습 효과에 의미있게 작용한 것으로 나타났다. 연구를 통해 비대면 교육 환경의 변화에 따른 적절한 학습 전략으로 학생들의 적극적인 학습태도와 긍정적인 수업 효과를 확인할 수 있었던 점에서 의의가 있다. 교육환경의 변화에 따른 다양한 교수-학습 전략들이 다방면에서 모색되고 적용되어야 할 것이다.

COVID-19 상황에서 온라인 비대면 수업에 대한 초등교사의 인식 - 과학교과를 중심으로 - (Primary school teacher recognition for distance learning due to COVID-19 - Focusing on science classes -)

  • COVID-19 팬데믹의 위기는 전 세계적으로 교육 시스템에 큰 변화를 초래하였다. 우리나라에서도 COVID-19로 인한 사회적 거리두기 정책에 따라 갑작스럽게 비대면 수업으로 전환되었다. 준비 없는 비대면 수업으로 인해 초등학교 현장에서 발생하는 문제들로 볼 때 이와 관련된 연구가 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구는 초등교사가 인식하는 비대면 수업에서 과학교육의 목표와 방법, 과학탐구활동을 포함한 비대면 수업에서 발생한 문제와 초등교사의 대응, 비대면 수업 경험 후 비대면수업의 장단점과 교사의 역할에 대한 초등교사의 인식을 알아보고자 한다. 온라인 콘텐츠 활용 수업과 온라인 실시간 쌍방향 수업을 포함하는 온라인 비대면 수업을 시행한 초등교사를 대상으로 설문조사(153명)와 포커스 인터뷰(9명)를 실시하였다. 연구 결과에서 3가지 결론과 제안점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 초등교사들은 온라인 비대면 수업에서 비대면 방식에 따라 일방향 강의와 쌍방향 강의를 하였다. 온라인 비대면 수업에서 조사나 토론 등 강의 외의 수업방법을 활용하기 위해서는 교사들의 디지털 리터러시를 높일 필요가 있다. 둘째, 초등교사들은 비대면 수업에서 과학탐구활동의 어려움으로 현장 피드백의 어려움, 준비물 확보의 어려움, 안전 확보의 어려움을 인식하였다. 개인 실험을 위한 실험 꾸러미와 실험 영상을 제공하고 온라인에서 교사-학생, 학생-학생 간 협동적 논의와 피드백을 통해서 어려움을 극복할 수 있다. 셋째, 초등교사들은 비대면 수업의 장점으로 IT 기기를 사용하는 다양한 형태의 수업이 가능하고 개별화된 학습이 가능하다고 인식하였다. 단점으로는 탐구활동이나 협동학습과 같은 대면 기반 수업이 어렵고, 학생의 이해 정도를 알 수 없어서 피드백이 어려우며, 학생간의 상호작용이 어렵고, 학습 격차가 벌어진다고 인식하였다.

심리적 유인과 사이트 품질, 공동체의식이 온라인게임에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Psychological Temptation, Site Quality and Sense of Community upon Online Game)

  • The purpose of this research is to identify if psychological temptation, site quality and sense of community influence user's flow and addiction and to identify causalities among flow, addiction, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in online industry. Many previous researches in the area of online games have been carried out about addiction by psychologist and about the development of related technologies by scientists. There are only a few studies about the customer satisfaction from the online business perspective. However, this research is different from the previous ones in the sense that both flow and addiction are considered in the study of the relationship between customer satisfaction/loyalty and flow/addiction in the area of online industry. The empirical results of high-order factor analysis indicate that six independent variables such as design, information, feedback, impulsiveness and motivation have converge three second-order variables such psychological temptation, site quality and sense of community. Consequently, site quality and sense of community have impacts on the flow, while on the other hand, psychological temptation has impacts on the addiction. Conclusively, customer satisfaction and loyalty are positively related not with the addiction but with the flow. Besides, customer loyalty is significantly influenced by the flow and the customer satisfaction. This indicates that companies in the online game industry have to develop a strategy for the flow which is more socially and ethically allowable than the addiction.

An Optical-Density-Based Feedback Feeding Method for Ammonium Concentration Control in Spirulina platensis Cultivation

  • Cultivation of Spirulina platensis using ammonium salts or wastewater containing ammonium as alternative nitrogen sources is considered as a commercial way to reduce the production cost. In this research, by analyzing the relationship between biomass production and ammonium-N consumption in the fed-batch culture of Spirulina platensis using ammonium bicarbonate as a nitrogen nutrient source, an online adaptive control strategy based on optical density (OD) measurements for controlling ammonium feeding was presented. The ammonium concentration was successfully controlled between the cell growth inhibitory and limiting concentrations using this OD-based feedback feeding method. As a result, the maximum biomass concentration (2.98 g/l), productivity (0.237 g/l d), nitrogen-to-cell conversion factor (7.32 gX/gN), and contents of protein (64.1%) and chlorophyll (13.4mg/g) obtained by using the OD-based feedback feeding method were higher than those using the constant and variable feeding methods. The OD-based feedback feeding method could be recognized as an applicable way to control ammonium feeding and a benefit for Spirulina platensis cultivations.
