  • Currently, Mobile-commerce is active around the world, and consumers' online activities have changed significantly from pc-base to mobile-base. Unlike IT advanced countries such as the United States, which experienced PC-based online commerce (hereafter, PC-commerce) before Mobile-commerce, developing countries such as Vietnam have a relatively short history of PC-commerce. Consumers' experience with PC-commerce may affect their acceptance and use of Mobile-commerce. In this study, we tried to see if different online commerce histories differently affect consumers' online purchasing behavior. We selected the United States and Vietnam, with longer PC-commerce experience and shorter one, respectively. Data were collected for the following four groups: 1) the U.S. PC-commerce (n=256), 2) the U.S. Mobile-commerce (n=283), 3) the Vietnamese PC-commerce (n=159), and 4) the Vietnamese Mobile-commerce (n=225). As results, it was first confirmed that different e-commerce histories in developed and developing countries make the online shopping process different. Second, navigability has a huge impact on consumers' decision support satisfaction in Vietnam where PC-commerce history is shorter. Third, we identified that pre-purchase phase is more related with decision support satisfaction and that purchase phase is more related with task support satisfaction.

  • The rapid growth of electronic commerce increases the potential for conflicts over contracts which have been entered into online(e.g. about price, late delivery, defects, specifications...). Using arbitration as a dispute resolution alternative is becoming increasingly popular especially in cases involving intellectual property rights and technology disputes since speed and secrecy are essential. The use of online dispute resolution(ODR) mechanisms to resolve such e-commerce conflicts is crucial for building business, consumer confidence and permitting access to justice in an online business environment. However, the use of the Internet and the World Wide Web in dispute resolution has an impact on the types of communication implied in the relevant processes(negotiation, mediation and arbitration). This paper deals with legal issues with respect to the practice of online arbitration. The paper begins with a brief introduction to the theories behind arbitration. These sections will be followed by a discussion on the specifics of online arbitration and the problems the process faces online arbitration by the legal community.

On the other hand, the introduction of CIETAC's online Arbitration Rules in China meets the actual needs. Especially the requirement of hearing trials' procedures should be easier and faster, making the dispute can be resolved in a short time. Furthermore, the whole process from applying to ruling is conducted online, which meets the needs of e-commerce business that want to solve the disputes faster and more efficient. With the increase of trade volume between China and Korea, the e-business are also increasing. • Like traditional commerce, disputes are bound to arise in the course of conducting an e-commerce transaction. At present of June 30, 2001, 259 cases of dispute on e-commerce have been applied for the mediation of Electronic Transaction Dispute Mediation Committee, types of them are 170 cases of delayed delivery of commodity, 21 cases of contract cancellation and refund, 16 cases of personal information protection, 16 cases of false and exaggerated advertisement, 14 cases of commodity defect. The settlement systems of e-commerce dispute are litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR). ADR encompasses mediation, arbitration, and similar private tools for resolving disputes. ADR offers many perceived advantages. Speed of resolution and low cost are often cited as the primary benefits. Therfore e-commerce disputes may be settled more effectively by litigation. The settlement systems of e-commerce dispute by ADR are the mediation of Electronic Transaction Dispute Mediation Committee, the mediation of Consumer Dispute Mediation Commercial Arbitration Board, and the arbitration of Korean Commerical Arbitration Board. E-commerce sets up the probability that its merchants and customers will not exist in the same legal jurisdictions. The confusing application of laws and wide geographical dispersion of these parties will necessitate a faster and cheaper dispute resolution methodology. Therefore, online ADR may be effective for e-commerce dispute resolution. The examples of online ADR opetation are the cyber mediation of Electronic Transaction Dispute Resolution Committee, the cyber mediation of Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, the cyber mediation of Click N Settle, the online ADR of BBB online, and the cyber arbitration of virtual Magistrate.

  • China continues to experience an expansion of its e-Commerce industry. This is true both for B2C and for B2B sectors. B2C websites are created by various players. B2C E-commerce is divided into three categories in China: online direct sale, online retail, and online booking services. Online retail remains the major form of B2C business, and online booking services and online direct sale also maintained rapid growth. The rapid growth of B2C E-commerce in China was due to three factors. Firstly, the number of Internet users is increasing, which expands E-commerce user base. Secondly, users' acceptance and recognition of E-commerce are gradually increasing. Lastly, improvement on payment, logistics and credit also provides a better and better industrial environment for B2C e-commerce. The B2C sector has seen a low transaction volume in spite of its large number of websites. The B2B sectors has seen a higher transaction volume and more stable growth than the B2C sector. There is a wide range of the total market size estimated by different sources. China's C2C market witnessed rapid growth in 2005, the market growth may slow down in 2006 and 2007, due to heavy market competition, challenges to the business model and slow corporate user growth. But there is the bottlenecks in E-commerce in China. The purpose of this paper is contribute to development E-commerce in China by finding the solutions of the bottlenecks in E-commerce in China.

  • In this study, we examine why there exist different legal systems in electronic commerce or online financial trading. When a fraud online transaction occurs and the online customer disputes the transaction, the online customer takes responsibility for the proof of her/his argument in many European countries while in the U.S., the burden of proof lays on the firm. This paper analyzes how these two different legal systems exist and how these can be applied to electronic commerce law. In particular, this paper intends to find the optimal level of e-commerce firms' investment on security and analyzes how security investments can be related to firm's profits and consumer's welfare depending on IT infrastructure and social trust environment. More on, this paper can be contributed to provide guidelines for regulatory framework on ecommerce online transactions and discuss social welfare implications.

  • In the e-commerce, the conversion into the multi-media is the important issue. According to the research by Nielsen Korea, the 83% of customers who purchase the products in the e-commerce utilize multi-channel to buy the products such as mobile and online [3]. Thus, to effectively implement online advertising, marketers should understand the customers' path [15] in the multi-channel. The study of the multi-site activities plays an important role to predict customers' purchase [28]. To explain the e-commerce site visit activities of customers, we have developed research model in terms of the online advertising. This research model is based on the study of Moe and Fader [23]. There are two types of composition in the research model. First, general site visit as an exploratory search have net effect on the shopping site visit because customers could acquire or develop information on the e-commerce site via online advertising. Secondly, the e-commerce site visit as a goal-directed search cause threshold of the e-commerce site visit because customers could achieve their goal. When the threshold is increased, the probability of a shopping site visit is decreased and vice versa. Thus, we have investigated the impact of customers' previous visit activities (general site visit and shopping site visit) on the next e-commerce site visit in terms of dynamic view. Research data was provided by Cheil World Wide. This panel data include mobile and online log data of panelists from Jan. 2013 to March 2013. As the results, the customers' e-commerce site visit on the online media would decrease the probability of e-commerce site visit because these visit activities increase the threshold of e-commerce site visit. This result is similar with the previous study [23]. Otherwise, since e-commerce site visit on the mobile media decrease the threshold, the customers' probability of e-commerce site visit would increase In summary, the site visit activities on the mobile could improve the probability of e-commerce site visits.
