Robust control system design for a flexible arm by a two-degree-of-freedom compensator

  • This paper is concerned with a two-degree-offreedom control system design for a flexible arm, a two-degree-of-frecdom control system can achieve a robust stability specification and a control performance specification independently. By this property we improve the control performance with maintaining the same robust stability level as that of the onc-dcgree-of-freedom control system. At First we design a two-degree-of-fteedom control system which includes a feedforward controller and a feedback controller. The feedforward controller can be given by specifying a transfer function of a dcsired closed-loop model. We obtain a feedback controller by solving a mixed sensitivity problem. Several numerical results show that two-degree-of-freedom control systems acheive a better control performance than that of one-degree-of-freedom control systems.

  • In this paper, two plant models, of which one is newly developed and the other one is the conventional one, of the focus servo system of DVD drive are presented and a two-degree-of freedom controller consisted of Inverse dynamics feedforward and LQG/LTR feedback controller is designed. The newly developed plant model is used to design the feedforward controller and the conventional model is used for the design of feedback controller. The output of newly developed model is the displacement of objective lens and the output of conventional model is the focus error of the DVD focus servo system. The displacement of the objective lens is estimated by the dynamics model of the DVD focus servo system. The disturbance rejection performance of the two-degree-of freedom controller is compared with that of an LQG/LTR one.

  • In many dynamic systems, unwanted vibrations which may arise during operation of machines are costly in terms of reduction of performance and service life. Sometimes these risky oscillations endanger equipment and personnel. When hydraulic telescopic booms taken large mass are driven at slow speeds between the two pads, unstable oscillations occur through the stick-slip at the sliding parts and become more severe and saw-toothed. This paper supposes few models for the telescopic boom in the multi-degree of freedom system, and attempts a theoretical approach for the numerical analysis in its stick-slip condition, It was verified that this theoretical approach has an effect on estimate of stick-slip in the one-degree as well as multi-degree of freedom system.

  • We propose a new design method for a generalized predictive control (GPC) system based on the parametrization of two-degree-of freedom control systems. The objective is to design the GPC system which guarantees the stability of the control system for a perturbed plant. The design procedure of our proposed method consists of three steps. First, we design a basic controller for a nominal plant using the LQG method and parametrize a whole control system. Next, we identify the deviation between the perturbed plant and the nominal one using a closed-loop identification method and design a free parameter of parametrization to stabilize the closed-loop system. Finally, we design a feedforward controller so as to incorporate GPC technique into our controller structure. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

A simple approach for the fundamental period of MDOF structures

  • Fundamental period is one of the most critical parameters affecting the seismic design of buildings. In this paper, a very simple approach is presented for estimating the fundamental period of multiple-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) structures. The basic idea behind this approach is to replace the complicated MDOF system with an equivalent single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system. To realize this equivalence, a procedure for replacing a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) system with an SDOF system, known as a two-to-single (TTS) procedure, is developed first; then, using the TTS procedure successively, an MDOF system is replaced with an equivalent SDOF system. The proposed approach is expressed in terms of mass, stiffness, and number of stories, without mode shape or any other parameters; thus, it is a very simple method. The accuracy of the proposed method is investigated by estimating the fundamental periods of many MDOF models; it is found that the results obtained by the proposed method agree very well with those obtained by eigenvalue analysis.

  • 위성통신설비를 위한 인공위성 추적 안테나 제어 시스템은 바람에 의한 외란과 베어링 공기역학적 마찰로 인한 전달함수의 파라메타 변동이 존재하므로, 이러한 시스템의 불확실성에도 불구하고 만족스러운 명령추종성을 가지는 강인한 제어 시스템의 설계가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 $\mu$-설계법을 사용하여 피드백 \ulcorner 포워드 제어기를 각각 독립적으로 설계할 수 있는 강인한 성능을 가지는 2자유도계의 설계법을 제시한다. 또한, 제시된 설계법을 위성추적 안테나 제어 시스템에 제어 시스템에 적용되고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 1자유도계와 성능을 비교 고찰하여 그 유용성을 확인한다.

  • In this paper, a simplified vibration analysis model for bellows was presented to avoid excessive effort required for shell model. To reduce degree of freedom, bellows was modelled using one dimensional beam element. The equivalent mass and stiffness matrices were obtained based upon Guyan reduction process. The results were compared with the confirmed results, which were in good agreement.

  • This paper shows an experimental magnetic levitation table using one degree-of-freedom active control. The magnetic levitation table using repulsions of permanent magnets was theoretically presented already. Thus the objective of this paper is to prove stable levitation with only one degree-of-freedom active control experimentally. For the design of the system, at first, permanent magnets are selected. Secondly, the spring constants of the virtual spring are obtained by simulation. Thirdly, the moving magnets are arranged using a stable layout relation. Fourthly, a linear voice coil motor is designed. Finally, the magnetic levitation system is manufactured. The phenomenon of stable levitation in the manufactured table is proven by means of dynamic time and frequency responses. The differences between the theoretical natural frequencies and experimental ones are analyzed. Also, stable range in the control direction is shown experimentally.

  • 본 연구에서는 로봇 미들웨어 기술 중 국제표준으로 채택된 RTM을 이용하여 7자유도 매니퓰레이터 협업로봇의 구성 요소를 RT 컴포넌트로 만들었다. 또한 미들웨어 네트워크를 기반으로 로봇 구성 요소의 RT 컴포넌트를 서로 연결하여 하나의 로봇 시스템을 구현하였으며, 실제 제작된 7자유도 매니퓰레이터를 이용하여 구현 시스템의 동작을 테스트하였다.

단자유도계를 이용한 충격흡수시설의 설계법 개발 (Study on the Design Method Development of Crash Cushion Using Single Degree of Freedom)

  • 도로를 이용하는 운전자들의 안전을 위해서 없어서는 안될 차량방호안전시설이 충격 흡수시설이다. 그러나 충격 흡수시설의 합리적이고 현실적인 설계방법이 미비한 상태임으로 대안없이 충돌시험에만 의존하고 있고 이것으로 인해 시간적, 물리적 손실이 큰 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 실차 충돌시험 데이터를 이용하여 삼차원의 복잡한 충돌거동에 대해 탑승자의 안전을 고려한 단자유도계 적용의 적합성을 증명하고 충격흡수시설의 거동을 분석함으로써 효과적인 단자유도계 충격흡수시설 설계법을 개발하고자 했다. 그리하여 단자유도계를 이용한 충돌해석 모델을 정립하고 충격흡수시설 설계법을 제시하였다. 충격흡수시설 설계법의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 단자유도계 설계법으로 CC2등급 충격흡수시설을 설계 제작하여 실차 충돌시험을 실시하였다. 성능시험 결과 매우 만족스러운 결과가 도출되었고 이로써 단자유도계 충격흡수시설 설계법은 충격흡수시설을 설계하는데 있어 유용한 방법중의 하나임이 증명되었다.
