  • This paper presents a current-source-inverter based on a buck-boost configuration and its application for residential photovoltaic system. The proposed circuit has five switches. Among them, only one switch acts as chopping, and the other determine the polarity of output; therefore, it can reduce the switching loss. Because the input inductor current is operated on the discontinuous conduction mode, high power factor can be achieved without additional input current controller. So the overall system shows a simple structure. The operational modes are analysed in depth, and then it was verified through the experimental results using a 150 [W] prototype equipped with digital signal processor TMS320F241.

  • A new passive lossless snubber for boost converter based on magnetic coupling is proposed. It is composed of a winding coupled with boost inductor, one snubber inductor, two snubber capacitor and three additional diodes. Especially, the snubber inductor can not only limit the reverse recovery current of output diode but also minimize switch turn-on losses greatly. Moreover, all of the energy stored in the snubber is transferred to the load in the manner of resonance. To confirm the validity of proposed system, theoretical analysis, design consideration, and verification of experimental results are presented.

  • A novel single-stage power factor corrected (PFC) drive for switched reluctance motor (SRM) is presented to achieve sinusoidal, near unity power factor input current. The proposed PFC SRM drive has no additional active switch. And a single-stage approach, which combines a DC link capacitor used as do source and a drive used for driving the motor into one power stage, has a simple structure and low cost. The characteristics and validity of the proposed circuit will be discussed in depth through the experimental results.

  • This paper presents the interleaved active-clamping ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) forward converter, which is mainly composed of two active-clamping forward converters. Only two switches are required, and each one is the auxiliary switch for the other. The circuit complexity and cost are thus reduced. The leakage inductance of the transformer or an additional resonant inductance is employed to achieve ZVS during the dead times. The duty cycles are not limited to be equal and within 50%. The complementary switching and the resulted interleaved output inductor currents diminish the current ripple in output capacitors. Accordingly, the smaller output chokes and capacitors lower the converter volume and increase the power density. Detailed analysis and design of this new interleaved active-clamping forward converter are described.

  • We studied a bilateral switching device for spin transfer torque (STT-MRAM) based on 3D device simulation. Metal/P/N+or Metal/N/P+ junction device with $30{\times}30nm2$ area which is composed of one side schottky junction at Metal/P/N+ and Metal/N/P+ provides sufficient bidirectional current flow to write data by a drain induced barrier lowering (DIBL). In this work, Junction device confirmed that write current is more than 30 uA at 2 V, It is also has high on-off ratio over 105 under read operation. Junction device has good process feasibility because metal material of junction device could have been replaced by bottom layer of MTJ. Therefore, additional process to fabricate two outer terminals is not need. so, it provides simple fabrication procedures. it is expected that Metal/P/N+ or Metal/N/P+ structure with one side schottky junction will be a promising switch device for beyond 30 nm STT-MRAM.

  • 졸음운전은 사고발생 확률이 높고, 사고 발생 시 심각도가 높기 때문에 효율적인 졸음운전 판단 시스템이 필요하다. 그러나 생체 신호나 비전을 이용한 졸음운전 판단시스템은 비용 측면에서 활용되기가 어렵다. 이에 본 논문에서는 추가적인 비용 없이 대부분의 차량에 기본 장착되어 있는 조향각 센서(steering angle sensor)와 차량정보(brake switch, throttle position signal, vehicle speed)를 이용하여 졸음운전자의 조향패턴 중 하나인 저킹 판단을 이용한 졸음운전 판단 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 각 변수의 임계값을 제시하고, HILS(Hardware in the Loop Simulation)에서 CAN을 통해 취득한 차량의 데이터와 Matlab 프로그램을 이용하여 알고리즘을 평가한다.

  • This paper propose a bidirectional dc-to-dc converter employing dual inductor for current ripple reduction. Conventional bidirectional dc-to-dc converter uses a single inductor for two different modes; boost and buck; therefore it is difficult to satisfy the optimized inductance value for each mode. To improve this problem, the proposed converter adds two switches, a diode, and one inductor. By proper switching of the additional switch, the proposed converter operates with a inductor in boost mode, but it works with dual inductor in buck mode. Hence in both modes the proposed bidirectional converter can be operated with optimized inductance values. Most of all the optimized inductance in buck mode can reduce the current ripple and its effective value(rms), which are directly related to the temperature increase resulted in short lifetime of battery. To verify the validity of the proposed approach, we first analyzes the operation of the proposed converter theoretically, and implement computer-aided simulations and experiments using a prototype.
