An Object-Oriented Modeling of HyTime Documents (HyTime 문서의 객체지향 모델링)

  • Hypermedia documents include structural information for their documents There have been researches on storing and searching hypermedia documents using the structural information of the documents. For the purpose of presenting hypermedia documents, however, only a few models have been proposed. In this paper, we propose a new object-oriented model based on the structural information of HyTime documents for storing and also presenting efficiently the documents. For this modeling, we consider an application of HyTime, a system for a news-on-demand service that provides news customized by user requests. Our modeling can be applied to several Hypermedia application areas, like as customized web-based instructions and digital libraries as well as news-on-demand services.

Recognition, attitudes, knowledge, education experience, and education demand regarding physical restraint among laypersons (신체억제대에 대한 일반인의 인식, 태도, 지식 및 교육경험과 교육요구도 조사)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate recognition, attitudes, knowledge, education experience, and education demand regarding physical restraint among laypersons. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 105 randomly recruited laypersons in D city. Excluding 2 incomplete answers, 103 data were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and chi-square test using SPSS 23.0. Results: Laypersons' recognition of physical restraints was rated at 3.37 out of 5 points, and showed a positive perspective. Knowledge on physical restraints was rated at 13.68 out of 18 points and was affected by age and education level (F = 2.845, p = .028)(F = 3.126, p = .029) A majority of the participants had no education on physical restraints. Nevertheless, participants showed intention to receive education in physical restraint to reach further understanding. Conclusion: Education on physical restraints is necessary for lay persons. However, there were education limits for people living in modern times. As an intervention addressing this problem, observing videos on the internet is recommended. Moreover, for advertising/educational purposes, accessing the internet and using smart-phone applications are suggested.

  • We research and analyze to the IMT-2000, it contains the various problem with the bandwidth and standardization. Finally, we proposed to the method of the standardization and implementation for the Beyond IMT-2000, in this paper. Comparing the Beyond the IMT-2000 take advantage of the aspect of the GPS(global positioning system) service and remote medical treatment service and wireless internet service and VOD(Video on Demand) service with IMT-2000. Henceforth, we are consider to the development of the contents which it is adaptable to various environment.

  • Upon the basis at the end of March 2005, we have the 38.91 million cellular phone subscribers over the country and the total diffusion rate of the cellular phone is reached up to 76.1%. At this moment, it can be said the most people use it since the demand is still going on. Turning to the operation company, this is serviced by the SK Telecom, LG Telecom, and KTF, and there are at least 7 manufactures producing it including Samsung, LG, KTF ever, Motorola, SKY, Pantac and Curitel, Most users periodically change the service vendor to the others for buying new model or changing the service vendor. It is understood the customer's action occurred by the differences of the brand cognition. In this study, along with some parameters including the difference of the vendor's brand cognition, difference of satisfaction (mobile telecommunication, product), and the possibility to buy the product again, I am going to find out the relationship between the satisfaction of the provider's service

  • This paper deals with how Korea Post establishes a nation wide network of the parcel warehouse & distribution centers(PWDC). The state-of-the-art of the parcel service business in Japan and U.S. are introduced for benchmarking purpose. Potential customers of the PWDC and their major goods are identified. Current major customers of the Korea Post were interviewed to figure out the potential demand of the PWDC service. Five-year volume estimation of the Korea Parcel Service(KPS) is presented based on the past 30-month B-C volume of the four major door-to-door delivery service companies in Korea. Yearly construction plan of the PWDCs is proposed; and the networking strategy of PWDC is discussed.

Analysis on the Determinants of International Competitiveness in OECD Service Industries (OECD 국가의 서비스산업 경쟁력 결정요인 분석)

  • Our study aims to investigate the determinants of international competitiveness and international specialization in services, using OECD service trade data. Real exchange rates, world demand, economies of scale, diffusion of IT, human capital, R&D expenditure and institutional variables are introduced as explanatory variables in regressions for 29 OECO countries over $1996{\sim}2003$. Some of major findings from the study can be summarized as follows. First, economies of scale play important role in transport and business services. Second, the index of freedom to trade measured by Faster Institute has a positive and significant impact on international competitiveness in telecommunication, finance and insurance and business services. Third, IT provides favorable condition to build international competitiveness in finance and insurance and business services. Fourth, R&D expenditure contributes to the amelioration of international competitiveness in transport services, while investment in new equipments contributes to increasing the competitiveness in telecommunication services. Thus, our results show the importance of the industrial base for developing a competitive service economy.

  • This paper introduce the model of remote monitoring system that combine information technology in electrical safety checks that has been done by professional staff. And for general use, electrical safety Value-Added Service using remote check data were presented. In the near future, If demand and interests of Value-Added Service will be increased, this will be a electrical safety Value-Added Service as an important role in the blind spot of country electricity disaster.

A Pickup and Delivery Problem Based on AVL and GIS

  • The fundamental design issues that arise in the pickup and delivery system planning are optimizing the system with minimum cost and maximum throughput and service level. This study is concerned with the development of pickup and delivery system with customer responsive service level, DCM(Demand Chain Management). The distribution process and service map are consisted of manufacturing, warehousing, and pickup and delivery. First we formulated the vehicle pickup and delivery problem using GIS-VRP method so as to satisfy the customer service requests. Second, we developed a GUI-type computer program using AVL, automated vehicle location system. The computational results show that the proposed method is very effective on a set of test problems.

  • Service user satisfaction in the community service is also an important factor that leads to the improvement of the quality of the social service and the self - reliance of the service provider. The purpose of this paper is to examine the satisfaction factors affecting service continuity intentions in community service users, and provide direction and demand forecast information to improve user satisfaction and service satisfaction. In this study, the reliability test was conducted to check the reliability of each measurement tool and descriptive statistics and frequency analysis were conducted to identify the general characteristics of the study subjects. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of user satisfaction factors on service continuity. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that service user satisfaction in the community service is an important factor for improving the quality of social services and for the independence of service providers.
