주석 및 아연 박막이 코팅된 베어링 표면의 구름 저항 거동에 대한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Rolling Resistance of Bearing Surfaces Coated by Pure Tin and Zinc Films)

  • An experimental study was performed to discover the tribological behaviors of pure tin and zinc coated 52100 bearing steel. Pure tin coatings ranging from 30 nm to 30,000 nm and pure zinc coatings ranging from 500 nm to 52,000 nm were produced by a thermal evaporation coating method. Experiments using a thrust ball bearing-typed rolling test-rig were performed for the investigations of the effect of coating thickness on the tribological rolling behavior. Results showed that the existence of optimum film thickness which revealed minimum rolling resistance was discovered for tin and zinc coating. The compatibility of coating material to iron showed no significant effect on the rolling resistance behavior. The hardness of coating material revealed significant influence to the rolling resistance behavior.

Raw Cokes의 흑연화 및 내산화성에 미치는 $B_4C$첨가 효과 (Effect of Addition of Boron Carbide on the Graphitization and Oxidation Resistance of Raw Cokes)

  • The specimens which were prepared from cokes with additions of 0~25 wt% B4C were sintered in Ar atmosphere at 220$0^{\circ}C$. The effects of B4C content on graphitization and oxidation resistance of cokes were investigated. B4C accelerates the graphitization of cokes and at 220$0^{\circ}C$ the degree of graphitization increased from 0.33 which is the value of pure carbon to 0.56, which increased bluk density and porosity. Especially bending strength increased as th graphitization temperature increased. Oxidation resistance property was greatly improved when B4C was added more than 10wt% at 80$0^{\circ}C$ and when B4C was added more than 20wt% at 100$0^{\circ}C$. This was because that the thin layer of B2O3 glass phase on the surface of the composite could be identified to increase the oxidation resistance.

A Study on Acceptance and Resistance of Smart TVs

  • This study investigated what factors affect consumers' decision making concerning the adoption of smart TVs. For this purpose, the integrated adoption model that consists of six major constructs from the diffusion of innovation theory (DIT), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the model of innovation resistance(MIR) was employed. To collect data, an online survey was used. Data collected were analyzed with the structural equation model (SEM). Findings showed that the innovativeness has a positive influence on the both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. It was also shown that both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use affect the intention to use smart TVs in a positive way. The innovation resistance has a negative influence on the intention to use. The mediating role of the innovation resistance was also found. The implications of these results are discussed.

  • Recently, Korea Highway Corporation has attemped to improve the highway safety in accordance with minimizing user's imconveniences. Currently, the Anti Skidding Pavement(ASP) has been introduced as a safety countermeasure on the safety frailty sections. In this study, a series of field evaluations on pavement skid resistance have been conducted on the skid frailty sections to analyze the effects and problems of the Anti Skidding Pavement (ASP), and to understand the behavior of pavement skid resistance due to pavement type, section characteristics, vehicles' speed and traffec volume. Test results show the Anti Skidding Pavement (ASP) has the effects to induce vehicles' speed reduction. However, there are no effects to increase skid resistance. According to these results, it is demanded to improve the applying method of current Anti Skidding Pavement (ASP) to devise an effective safety countermeasure for pavement skid, and to increase pavement skid resistance.

Al$_2$O$_3$-SiC-C 내화물의 특성에 미치는 MgO의 첨가효과 (Effects of MgO Addition on the Properties of $Al_2$O$_3$-SiC-C Refractory)

  • The effects of MgO on the resistance to corrosion and oxidation of Al2O3-SiC-C refractory have been in-vestigated. The resistance to oxidation was improved as the amount of MgO increased. The resistance to corrosion was enhanced until 2 wt% MgO content but degraded over that content. From the dependence of temperatuer on the oxidation resistance oxidation was suppressed by the microstructural densification caused by spinel formation over 1200~130$0^{\circ}C$and the formation MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 liguid-phase over 130$0^{\circ}C$ The weight loss of specimens containing MgO with various purity at range of 95 to 99% and par-ticle size of -0.045 mm to -0.074 mm was examined. The oxidation resistance was not changed signficantly with the particle size and purity of MgO powders.

  • Addition of fibers in cement or cement concrete may be of current interest, but this is not a new idea or concept. Fibers of any material and shape play an important role in improving the strength and deformation characteristics of the cement matrix in which they are incorporated. The new concept and technology reveal that the engineering advantages of adding fibers in concrete may improve the fracture toughness, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, flexural strength, compressive strength, thermal crack resistance, rebound loss, and so on. The magnitude of the improvement depends upon both the amount and the type of fibers used. In this paper, locally available waste fibers such as coir fibers, sisal fibers and polypropylene fibers have incorporated in concrete with varying percentages and l/d ratio and their effect on compressive, split, flexural, bond and impact resistance have been reported.

Effect of Metallic Tungsten Concentration on Resistance Switching Behavior of Sputtered W-doped NbOx Films

  • In this study, we investigated that the resistance switching characteristics of W-doped NbOx films with increasing W doping concentration. The W-doped NbOx based ReRAM devices with a TiN/W-doped NbOx/Pt/Ti/SiO2 were fabricated on Si substrates. The 50 nm thick W-doped NbOx films were deposited by reactive dc magnetron co-sputtering at $400^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressure of 35%. Micro-structure of W-doped NbOx films and atomic concentration were investigated by XRD, TEM and XPS, respectively. The W-doped NbOx films showed set/reset resistance switching behavior at various W doping concentrations. The process voltage of set/reset is decreased and whereas the initial current level is increased with increasing W doping concentration in NbOx films. The change of resistance switching behavior depending on doping concentration was discussed in terms of concentration of metallic tungsten of oxygen of W-doped NbOx.

탄성밴드를 이용한 저항운동이 허약 노인의 상지 근력 및 ADL에 미치는 효과 연구 (Effect of Elastic Band Based Resistance Exercise on Upper Limbs Strength and ADL of Frail Elders)

  • The purposes of this study were to effect the upper extremities strength and ADL with upper extremities in frail elders. This study comparison upper extremities strength to pre-exercise and post-exercise and ADL with upper extremities. 30 elders who was in C silver hospital in Busan after resistance exercise during 12 weeks using elastic band, It was confirmed that improvement upper extremities strength and ADL with upper extremities after resistance exercise. As a result of study about effect of elastic band based resistance exercise on ADL of frail elders, it seems to have good effect on over all items(eating, dressing, bathing, make-up, go to a rest room). Therefore, it is necessary to find method about rehabilitation exercise for frail or partial disability elders.

Improving Wrinkle Resistance of Cotton Fabric by Montmorillonite

  • Cotton fabric was treated with montmorillonite (MMT) so as to evaluate its effectiveness on improving its wrinkle resistance. The MMT in emulsion form was applied to cotton fabric by padding and finally the wrinkle resistance of the MMT-treated cotton fabric was improved. Furthermore, instrumental methods were used for studying the presence of MMT particles on the cotton fabric surface. It was noted that nano-scale MMT particles adhered on the fiber surface and the particle size played an important role in influencing the wrinkle resistance of the cotton fabric. The experimental results are discussed thoroughly in this paper.
