  • Objectives: The present study aims to examine associations between job demands and problem drinking, smoking, and practice of regular exercise among middle-aged and older male employees. Methods: Analyses were based on 239 employees aged 50+ and participated the 1st(2006) and the 4th(2012) waves of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA). Panel logit regression analyses were performed to explore longitudinal associations between physical and cognitive job demands and the health behaviors when effects of demographic characteristics and objective job conditions were controlled. Results: Results suggested that first, workers who reported greater cognitive job demands were less likely to engage in problem drinking over the 6-year-period. Second, increased physical demands of the job were associated with greater odds of smoking, while physical demands predicted a reduced likelihood of practicing regular exercise. Conclusions: Results from the present analyses emphasize job demands could lead workers to problem health behaviors and suggest areas for health promotion efforts at the workplace that are sensitive to the needs of aging workers.

  • Organizational abilities which assure human resource of excellent quality in enterprise and organization, manages human resource effectively and systematically will be depended on the performance and successful or not of enterprise. The organization which readies to accept changes will survive, the organization makes full use of changes to opportunity and strategy will be a winner. Now when the environment of enterprise is uncertain and environment of management changes, organization should manage HRM in strategic point of view to maintain persistent competition superiority. We investigated how outsourcing affected on organizational performance perception according to inducting BSC from the employees of metro. As a result of the investigation, outsourcing is perceived importantly in study, growth, internal process point of view, but didn't perceived in finance and customer. We guessed that outsourcing would be perceived importantly in financial point of view as a cost reduction. In 5 years from the beginning of metro, it seemed to be perceived importantly, as organizations grow older, perceptions of outsourcing are perceived low because of stabilization of organization and labor's resistance. It is why that the more outsourcing is performed, the more reduction of organization and decrease of employees is expected as much as cost reduction.

  • Background: Social status might be a determinant of occupational health inequalities. This study analyzed the effects of social status on both work environments and health outcomes. Methods: The study sample consisted of 27,598 wage employees aged 15 years and older from among the Korean Working Condition Survey participants in 2011. Work environments included atypical work, physical risks, ergonomic risks, work demands, work autonomy, social supports, and job rewards. Health outcomes comprised general health, health and safety at risk because of work, the World Health Organization-5 Well-being Index, work-related musculoskeletal disease, and work-related injury. Multivariable logistic-regression models were used to identify the associations between social status and work environments and health outcomes. Results: Employees in the demographically vulnerable group had lower occupational status compared with their counterparts. Low social status was largely related to adverse work environments. Especially, precarious employment and manual labor occupation were associated with both adverse work environments and poor health outcomes. Conclusion: Precarious and manual workers should take precedence in occupational health equity policies and interventions. Their cumulative vulnerability, which is connected to demographics, occupational status, adverse work environments, or poor health outcomes, can be improved through a multilevel approach such as labor market, organizations, and individual goals.

The survey was conducted on 5th and 6th grade students and foodservice employees at 19 elementary schools in Gwangju, Gyeonggi. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS ver. 17.0 for descriptive analysis, frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, and ANOVA. Students were highly satisfied with 'variety of menu' (3.78) and 'food taste' (3.75). The healthy group and no plate waste group showed significantly higher satisfaction levels on seven items, except 'sanitary utensil', as compared to others. Foodservice employees had high levels of satisfaction with human relationships and their jobs, but they were dissatisfied with their wages. Older employees had a high level of satisfaction with 'relationship with a dietitian' (P<0.05), whereas employees with a low level of education exhibited higher 'respect and reflection of his/her opinion on the duty' (P<0.01) and 'current duties' (P<0.05) as compared to others. The group with higher student satisfaction showed significantly higher employee job satisfaction for 11 items, including 'cooperation with co-workers' (P<0.01), 'relationship with a dietitian' (P<0.05), and inversely, the group with higher job satisfaction exhibited significantly higher student foodservice satisfaction for all nine items.
