  • The occurrence and regional distribution of low temperature and drought during rice cropping period in Korea were studied to characterize the climatic impacts. The long term changes in rice yield, air temperature and precipitation were analyzed, and regional distributions were characterized. The significant climatic impacts on rice yield were heavy rain or flood, drought and low temperature. Since 1910, the occurrence of drought was 29 times, that of flood was 24 times and that of low temperature was 9 times; however, the drought and flood damages were decreased due to expansion of irrigation system since 1970 but low temperature damage was remarkedly increased. The long term changes in air temperature since 1908 in Suweon showed that the 5-year moving average from July to August decreased while that from May to June increased. The occurrence probability of the long term and early term low temperature types were the greatest in Korea and were in order of Suweon, Daegu and Kwangiu. The long term changes in 10-year moving average precipitation from April to June showed a 15 year cycle and recent years were in low precipitation period. The drought frequencies were the highest in Daegu and Pohang area. According to the precipitation from April to June and resevtoir storage at late June, the severest dry area were the Youngnam inland and the southwest coastal area.

  • We surveyed the distribution pattern of weeds in onion, garlic, potato, and barley fields including 304 sites of Gyeongsangbuk-do. The weeds were summarized as 30 family and 125 species in onion crop field, 29 family and 101 species in garlic field, 30 family 88 species in potato field, finally 27 family and 108 species. Compositae was dominant family (26.4%, 33 species), followed by Polygonaceae (8.8%, 11 species), Cruciferae (8.8%, 11 species) in onion field. Compositae was also dominant family (24.8%, 25 species) in garlic field, it was 22.7% (20 species) in potato field, and it was also 24.1% (26 species) in barley field, respectively. Among these winter crops, major five families were occupied 61.1, 58.4, 58.0 and 57.5% in turn at barley, onion, potato and garlic fields. The PCA-covariance plot analysis for investigation of occurrence pattern of weeds by four winter crop fields revealed that the occurrence pattern of weed species in barley field was distinguished by Alopecurus aequalis var. amurensis, Stellaria alsine var. undulate and Stellaria aquatica.

  • Software reliability in the software development process is an important issue. Software process improvement helps in finishing with reliable software product. Infinite failure NHPP software reliability models presented in the literature exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this study, reliability software cost model considering shape parameter based on life distribution from the process of software product testing was studied. The cost comparison problem of the Lomax distribution reliability growth model that is widely used in the field of reliability presented. The software failure model was used the infinite failure non-homogeneous Poisson process model. The parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation was conducted. For analysis of software cost model considering shape parameter. In the process of change and large software fix this situation can scarcely avoid the occurrence of defects is reality. The conditions that meet the reliability requirements and to minimize the total cost of the optimal release time. Studies comparing emissions when analyzing the problem to help kurtosis So why Kappa efficient distribution, exponential distribution, etc. updated in terms of the case is considered as also worthwhile. In this research, software developers to identify software development cost some extent be able to help is considered.

  • This study is to examine a relation between coal mining subsidence occurrence at abandoned underground coal mines and underground goaf with respect to surface geology, subsurface structure, depth and thickness of coal beds and the distribution of drifts. A study is carried out at the site where susceptibility of coal mining subsidence was proven high in a previous study. In that previous study, the susceptibility of coal mining subsidence was spatially analyzed by GIS using digitized geological maps, investigation reports, digitized mining tunnel maps without consideration of subsurface structure and the multi-level arrangement of drifts. Here we analyze geological characteristics around the goaf and the distribution of coal seam based upon digitized geological maps and investigation reports on the study area. And digitized mining tunnel maps are also used to analyze the depth and multi-level arrangement of drifts. The results show that weakened surface rock strength, relatively shallow depth and large thickness of coal seam below the surface are closely related to the coal mining subsidence occurrence. Complicatedly inter-connected drifts, shallow depth of drifts and surface rock fractures are revealed as additional control factors affecting coal mining subsidence. These factors examined in this study as well as original factors should be taken into account for the quantitative estimation of coal mining subsidence occurrence at abandoned underground coal mine.

  • The citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella (Lepidoptera: Gracillaridae), is an important pest that decreases the productivity of citrus trees by attacking citrus leaves, and especially it causes a severe damage during the young growth stage. In this study, we investigated the distribution of eggs on the leaves of shoots according to the position and the survival rate of this pest in the field condition. The occurrence patterns of P. citrella eggs in citrus orchards were largely affected by the occurrence of shoots. Even if the adults were still being attracted in the pheromone traps, the eggs were not observed on leaves when the growth of shoots was stopped. The density of P. citrella eggs in the citrus shoots peaked at the fifth or sixth leaf from the terminal leaf, and over 90% of the eggs were found in the first to eighth leaves as a whole. In 2015 and 2016, the average survival rate of larvae surviving to pupa was 1.4%, and the rate of survival to adults was 0.2%, indicating that most of them died. Furthermore, we have discussed the management strategy of P. citrella considering the distribution of eggs and the larval survival rate in the citrus shoots.

  • The distribution shapes of air and water temperatures are basic and essential information, which determine the frequency patterns of their occurrence. It is also very useful to understand the changes in long-term air and water temperatures with respect to climate change. The typical distribution shapes of air and water temperatures cannot be well fitted using widely used/accepted normal distributions because their shapes show multimodal distributions. In this study, Gaussian mixture distributions and kernel distributions are suggested as the more suitable models to fit their distribution shapes. Based on the results, the tail shape exhibits different patterns. The tail is long in higher temperature regions of water temperature distribution and in lower temperature regions of air temperature distribution. These types of shape comparisons can be useful to identify the patterns of long-term air and water temperature changes and the relationship between air and water temperatures. It is nearly impossible to identify change patterns using only mean-temperatures and normal distributions.

  • Finite failure NHPP software reliability models presented in the literature exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this paper, proposes the Gompertz distribution reliability model, which made out efficiency application for software reliability. Algorithm to estimate the parameters used to maximum likelihood estimator and bisection method, model selection based on mean square error (MSE) and coefficient of determination$(R^2)$, for the sake of efficient model, was employed. Analysis of failure using real data set for the sake of proposing fixed shape parameter of the Gompertz distribution was employed. This analysis of failure data compared with the Gompertz distribution model of shape parameter. In order to insurance for the reliability of data, Laplace trend test was employed. In this study, the proposed Gompertz model is more efficient in terms of reliability in this area. Thus, Gompertz model can also be used as an alternative model. From this paper, software developers have to consider the growth model by prior knowledge of the software to identify failure modes which can was helped.

  • Approximately 20% of the total fire is electrical fire, and electrical energy is a potential source of heat. Large-scale fault currents that occur during a line ground fault flow into electric utility poles, electric power equipment, or electric appliances of the customer, and cause simultaneous electrical fire. In this paper, we investigated the possibility of fire through the change of fault current flowing in faulty and sound feeder in case of 1 line ground fault in 22.9 kV distribution line. We propose a fire investigation analysis method for simultaneous multiple electrical fire such as evidence analysis method, and fault current occurrence confirmation method in case of fire accident by analyzing the fault current occurring in the ground fault in the distribution line using EMTP, electric power system analysis program.

  • Traditional transmission planning usually caters for rated wind power output. Due to the low occurrence probability of nominal capacity of wind power and huge investment in transmission, these planning methods will leads to low utilization rates of transmission lines and poor economic efficiency. This paper provides a novel transmission expansion planning method for integrating large-scale wind power. The wind power distribution characteristics of large-scale wind power output and its impact on transmission planning are analyzed. Based on the wind power distribution characteristics, this paper proposes a flexible and economic transmission planning model which saves substantial transmission investment through spilling a small amount of peak output of wind power. A methodology based on Benders decomposition is used to solve the model. The applicability and effectiveness of the model and algorithm are verified through a numerical case.
