Nowadays, gun crimes occur very frequently not only in public places but in alleyways around the world. In particular, it is essential to detect a person armed by a pistol to prevent those crimes since small guns, such as pistols, are often used for those crimes. Because conventional works for armed person detection have treated an armed person as a single object in an input image, their accuracy is very low. The reason for the low accuracy comes from the fact that the gunman is treated as a single object although the pistol is a relatively much smaller object than the person. To solve this problem, we propose a novel algorithm called APDA(Armed Person Detection Algorithm). APDA detects the armed person using in a post-processing the positions of both wrists and the pistol achieved by the CNN-based human body feature detection model and the pistol detection model, respectively. We show that APDA can provide both 46.3% better recall and 14.04% better precision than SSD-MobileNet.
According to the related reports, about 60 percents of ship collisions have resulted from operating mistake caused by human factor. Specially, the report said that negligence of observation caused 66.8 percents of the accidents due to a human factor. Hence automatic detection and tracking of an object from an IR images are crucial for safety navigation because it can relieve officer's burden and remedies imperfections of human visual system. In this paper, we present a method to detect an object such as ship, rock and buoy from a sea IR image. Most edge directions of the sea image are horizontal and most vertical edges come out from the object areas. The presented method uses them as a characteristic for the object detection. Vertical edges are extracted from the input image and isolated edges are eliminated. Then morphological closing operation is performed on the vertical edges. This caused vertical edges that actually compose an object be connected and become an object candidate region. Next, reference object regions are extracted using horizontal edges, which appear on the boundaries between surface of the sea and the objects. Finally, object regions are acquired by sequentially integrating reference region and object candidate regions.
worker-centered safety management for hazardous areas in the plant is required. The causes of gas accidents in the past five years are closely related to the behavior of the operator, such as careless handling of the user, careless handling of the suppliers, and intentional, as well as equipment failure and accident of thought. In order to prevent such accidents, real-time monitoring of hazardous areas in the plant is required. However, when installing a camera in a work space for real-time monitoring, problems such as human rights abuse occur. In order to prevent this, an infrared camera with low resolution with low exposure of the operator is used. In real-time monitoring, image analysis is performed using CNN algorithm, not human, to prevent human rights violation.
The recognition of the risk hazards is a vital step to effectively prevent accidents on a construction site. The advanced development in computer vision systems and the availability of the large visual database related to construction site made it possible to take quick action in the event of human error and disaster situations that may occur during management supervision. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the risk factors that need to be managed at the construction site and review appropriate and effective technical methods for each risk factor. This research focuses on analyzing Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) related to risk zone identification rules that can be adopted by the image recognition technology and classify their risk factors depending on the effective technical method. Therefore, this research developed a pattern-oriented classification of OSHA rules that can employ a large scale of safety hazard recognition. This research uses joint reasoning of risk zone Identification and numeric input by utilizing a stereo camera integrated with an image detection algorithm such as (YOLOv3) and Pyramid Stereo Matching Network (PSMNet). The research result identifies risk zones and raises alarm if a target object enters this zone. It also determines numerical information of a target, which recognizes the length, spacing, and angle of the target. Applying image detection joint logic algorithms might leverage the speed and accuracy of hazard detection due to merging more than one factor to prevent accidents in the job site.
Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is a representative food resource. To preserve the integrity of soybean, it is necessary to protect soybean yield and seed quality from threats of various pests and diseases. Riptortus pedestris is a well-known insect pest that causes the greatest loss of soybean yield in South Korea. This pest not only directly reduces yields but also causes disorders and diseases in plant growth. Unfortunately, no resistant soybean resources have been reported. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the distribution and movement of Riptortus pedestris at an early stage to reduce the damage caused by insect pests. Conventionally, the human eye has performed the diagnosis of agronomic traits related to pest outbreaks. However, due to human vision's subjectivity and impermanence, it is time-consuming, requires the assistance of specialists, and is labor-intensive. Therefore, the responses and behavior patterns of Riptortus pedestris to the scent of mixture R were visualized with a 3D model through the perspective of artificial intelligence. The movement patterns of Riptortus pedestris was analyzed by using time-series image data. In addition, classification was performed through visual analysis based on a deep learning model. In the object tracking, implemented using the YOLO series model, the path of the movement of pests shows a negative reaction to a mixture Rina video scene. As a result of 3D modeling using the x, y, and z-axis of the tracked objects, 80% of the subjects showed behavioral patterns consistent with the treatment of mixture R. In addition, these studies are being conducted in the soybean field and it will be possible to preserve the yield of soybeans through the application of a pest control platform to the early stage of soybeans.
Unlike general cameras, a high-speed camera capable of capturing a large number of frames per second can enable the advancement of some image processing technologies that have been limited so far. This paper proposes a method of removing undesirable noise from an high-speed input color image, and then detecting a human face from the noise-free image. In this paper, noise pixels included in the ultrafast input image are first removed by applying a bidirectional filter. Then, using RetinaFace, a region representing the person's personal information is robustly detected from the image where noise was removed. The experimental results show that the described algorithm removes noise from the input image and then robustly detects a human face using the generated model. The model-based face-detection method presented in this paper is expected to be used as basic technology for many practical application fields related to image processing and pattern recognition, such as indoor and outdoor building monitoring, door opening and closing management, and mobile biometric authentication.
One of the most frequently performed tasks in human-robot interaction (HRI), intelligent vehicles, and security systems is face related applications such as face recognition, facial expression recognition, driver state monitoring, and gaze estimation. In these applications, accurate head pose estimation is an important issue. However, conventional methods have been lacking in accuracy, robustness or processing speed in practical use. In this paper, we propose a novel method for estimating head pose with a monocular camera. The proposed algorithm is based on a deep neural network for multi-task learning using a small grayscale image. This network jointly detects multi-view faces and estimates head pose in hard environmental conditions such as illumination change and large pose change. The proposed framework quantitatively and qualitatively outperforms the state-of-the-art method with an average head pose mean error of less than
There are various items in the safety and health standards of the manufacturing industry, but they can be divided into work-related diseases and musculoskeletal diseases according to the standards for sickness and accident victims. Musculoskeletal diseases occur frequently in manufacturing and can lead to a decrease in labor productivity and a weakening of competitiveness in manufacturing. In this paper, to detect the musculoskeletal harmful factors of manufacturing workers, we defined the musculoskeletal load work factor analysis, harmful load working postures, and key points matching, and constructed data for Artificial Intelligence(AI) learning. To check the effectiveness of the suggested dataset, AI algorithms such as YOLO, Lite-HRNet, and EfficientNet were used to train and verify. Our experimental results the human detection accuracy is 99%, the key points matching accuracy of the detected person is @AP0.5 88%, and the accuracy of working postures evaluation by integrating the inferred matching positions is LEGS 72.2%, NECT 85.7%, TRUNK 81.9%, UPPERARM 79.8%, and LOWERARM 92.7%, and considered the necessity for research that can prevent deep learning-based musculoskeletal diseases.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
