  • In this paper, we propose a new frequency offset estimation algorithm for DBO-CSS which is a standard for wireless personal area network (WPAN). In DBO-CSS, there can be several integer multiples of $2{\pi}$ in the phase rotation caused by the frequency offset because of the long time difference between the samples of differential relation and the high permissible frequency offset of the crystal oscillators between the transmitter and the receiver. In this paper, we propose an estimation algorithm by using the relationships of each sub-chirp signals to find the integer part without phase ambiguity.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient technique to minimize the input offset of a dynamic latch comparator. We analyzed offset due to charge injection mismatching and unwanted positive feedback during sampling phase. The last one was only considered in the previous works. Based on the analysis, we proposed a modified dynamic latch with initialization switch. The proposed circuit was simulated using 0.65$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS process parameter with 5v supply. The simulation results showed that the input offset is less than 5mv at 200㎒ sampling frequency and the input offset is improved about 80% compared with previous work in 5k$\Omega$ input resistance.

  • The paper discusses the problem of the flow over the backward facing step and the offset jet, which are calculated numerically. Standard k- .epsilon. model and its LPS modification are used as turbulence models. Hybrid central/upwind scheme and skew- upwind scheme are used as numerical schemes. The numerical scheme has a strong influence on the offset jet rather than the flow over backward facing step. The skew-upwind scheme gives good results in both cases. However, the k- .epsilon. model with LPS modification yields no remarkable improvements in the predictions of both flows. The skew-upwind scheme improves the prediction of reattachment length in the offset jet.

  • In this paper, the 5-axis tool path that has been generated from the original surface is, newly generated from the offset polyhedral mesh. In this approach, the interference check between two solid models can be simplified to that of offset polyhedral mesh and axis line. The tool path computation and interference check based on the offset mesh is simpler and faster than that based on the original surface. But 5-axis tool path generation using this approach is able to apply only for ball endmill and still takes longer time than 3-axis tool path generation.

  • An experimental study on the flow characteristics was performed for a two-dimensional turbulent wall attaching offset jet at different oblique angles to a surface. The flow characteristics were investigated by using a split film probe with the modified Stock's calibration method. The jet mean velocity, turbulent intensity, wall static pressure coefficient profiles, and time-averaged reattachment point were measured at the Reynolds number Re (based on the nozzle width, D) ranging from 17700 to 53200, the offset ratio H/D from 2.5 to 10, and the inclined angle .alpha. from 0.deg. C to 40.deg. C. The Correlations between the maximum pressure position, minimum pressure position, and reattachment point and offset ratios, and inclined angles are presented.

  • This paper presents d new algorithm to compute the offlet curve of a given planar parametric curve. We reduce the problem of computing an offset curve to that of intersecting a surface to a paraboloid. Given an input curve C(t)=(x(t), y(t))∈R², the corresponding surface D/sub c(t)/ is constructed symbolically as the envelope surface of a one-parameter family of tangent planes of the paraboloid Q:z=x²+y²along a lifted curve C(t)=(x(t), y(t), x(t)²+y(t)²∈Q. Given an offset distance d∈R, the offset curve C/sub d/(t) is obtained by the projection of the intersection curve of D/sub c(t)/ and a paraboloid Q:z=x²+y²-d² into the xy-plane.

  • This Paper describes the design of high speed and low power comparator based on the feed forward bias control. Major building blocks of this comparator are composed of input offset canceling circuit and feed forward bias control circuit. The usual offset canceling circuit cancels the offset voltages by storing them in capacitors using MOS switches, The comparator of this paper employs the bias control circuit which generates bias signal from the input signal. The bias signal is applied to the capacitors and keeps the transfer of chares in the capacitors in the minimal amount, therefore making the comparator operate in stable condition and reduce decision time. The comparator in this form has very samll area and power dissipation. Maximum sampling rate is 200 Ms/sec. The comparator is designed in 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ technology and the offset is less than 0.5㎷.

  • As OFDM-based systems exhibits robustness over wireless channel, it is possible to consider them the next generation of the wireless communications including the mobile communications. However, there is a critical point that OFDM-based systems can receive the distorted signal due to the frequency-offset. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately estimate the frequency-offset for OFDM-based systems to be adopted as the next wireless communication systems. In this paper, the efficient frequency-offset estimation scheme based on MUSIC is presented in 802,1la WLAN systems. As shown in the simulation result, this scheme can improve and optimize the estimation performance.

  • This paper proposed a method to design the offset slotted rectangular microstrip patch antenna which can be used for GPS antenna. The multi-port connection method and the desegmentation technique had been used to analyze !he characteristics of this antenna. To reduce a size of this antenna, a dielectric substrate with a high permittivity($\varepsilon_{\gamma}$=10.2) was used and a offset rectangular slot was inserted in the microstrip patch antenna. The dimension of a manufactured antenna is $20\times30\times1.27$[mm]. Accordingly this small antenna can be used directly GPS antenna or cellular phone.

  • This paper proposes an improved carrier frequency offset (CFO) and sampling frequency offset (SFO) estimation scheme for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based broadcasting system with cyclic delay diversity (CDD) antenna. By exploiting a periodic nature of channel transfer function, cyclic delay and pilot pattern with a maximum channel power are carefully chosen, which helps to enable a robust estimation of CFO and SFO against the frequency selectivity of the channel. As a performance measure, a closed-form expression for the achievable mean square error of the proposed scheme is derived and is verified through simulations using the parameters of the digital radio mondiale standard. The comparison results show that the proposed frequency estimator is shown to benefit from properly selected delay parameter and pilot pattern, with a performance better than the existing estimator.
