Car Collision Verification System for the Ubiquitous Parking Management (유비쿼터스 주차관리를 위한 차량충돌 검증시스템)

  • Most researches in WSN-based parking management system used wireless sensors to monitor the events in a car parking area. However, the problem of car collisions in car parks was not discussed by previous researches. The car position details over time are vital in analyzing a collision event. This paper proposes a collision verification method to detect and to analyze the collision event in the parking area, and then notifies car owners. The detection uses the information from motion sensors for comprehensive details of position and direction of a moving car, and the verification processes an object tracking technique with a fast OBB intersection test. The performance tests show that the location technique is more accurate with additional sensors and the OBB collision test is faster compared to a normal OBB intersection test.

  • The characteristics of the rock cleavage of Jurassic Geochang granite were analysed using the parameters from the length and spacing-cumulative frequency diagrams. The evaluation for three planes and three rock cleavages was performed using the 25 parameters such as (1~2) slope angle(${\alpha}^{\circ}$and ${\beta}^{\circ}$), (3) intersection angle(${\alpha}-{\beta}^{\circ}$), (4) exponent difference(${\lambda}_S-{\lambda}_L$), (5~12) length of line(oa, ob, ol, os, ss', ll' and sl') and (13~15) length ratio(ol/os, ss'/ll' and ll'/sl'), (16) mean length((ss'+ll')/2), (17~23) area (${\Delta}oaa^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}obb^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}obb^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}oaa_a^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}obb_a^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}ll^{\prime}s^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}ss^{\prime}l^{\prime}$ and ⏢$ll^{\prime}ss^{\prime}$) and (24~25) area difference(${\Delta}obb^{\prime}-{\Delta}oaa^{\prime}$ and ${\Delta}obb_a^{\prime}-{\Delta}oaa_a^{\prime}$). Firstly, the values of the 11 parameters(group I: No. 1, 3~4, 7, 9~10, 13, 15~16, 20 and 25), the 3 parameters(group II: No. 5, 8 and 17) and the 2 parameters(group III: No. 12 and 22) are in orders of H(hardway) < G(grain) < R(rift), R < G < H and G < H < R, respectively. On the contrary, the values of parameters belonging to the above three groups show reverse orders for three planes. Secondly, the generalized chart for three planes and three rock cleavages were made. From the related chart, the distribution types formed by the two diagrams related to lengths and spacings were derived. The diagrams related to spacings show upward curvature in the chart of rift plane(G1 & H1, R') and hardway(H1 & H2, H). On the contrary, the diagrams related to lengths show downward curvature. These two diagrams take the form of a convex lens in the upper section. Besides, the two diagrams cross each other in the lower section. The overall shape formed by the above two diagrams between three planes($H^{\prime}{\rightarrow}G^{\prime}{\rightarrow}R^{\prime}$) and three rock cleavages($R{\rightarrow}G{\rightarrow}H$) display in reverse order. Lastly, these types of correlation analysis is useful for discriminating three quarrying planes.

  • The characteristics of the rock cleavage of Jurassic Geochang granite were analysed using the distribution of microcrack lengths and spacings. The length and spacing-cumulative diagrams for the six directions of rock cleavages were arranged in increasing order ($H2{\rightarrow}R1$) on the density (${\rho}$) of microcrack length. The various parameters were extracted through the combination of above two types of diagrams. The evaluation for the six directions of rock cleavages was performed using the four groups (I~IV) of parameters such as (I) intersection angle (${\alpha}-{\beta}$), exponent difference (${\lambda}_S-{\lambda}_L$), length of line (ol and ll'), length ratio (ol/os and ll'/sl'), mean length ((ss'+ll')/2), area of right-angled triangle (${\Delta}oaa_a^{\prime}$ and ${\Delta}obb_a^{\prime}$) and area difference (${\Delta}obb^{\prime}-{\Delta}oaa^{\prime}$ and ${\Delta}obb_a^{\prime}-{\Delta}oaa_a^{\prime}$), (II) length of line (oa and os) and area (${\Delta}oaa^{\prime}$), (III) length of line (sl') and length ratio (ss'/ll') and (IV) length of line (ob, ss' and ls') and area (${\Delta}obb^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}ll^{\prime}s^{\prime}$, ${\Delta}ss^{\prime}l^{\prime}$ and ⏢ll'ss'). The results of correlation analysis between the values of parameters for three rock cleavages and those for three planes are as follows. The values of parameters for three rock cleavages are in orders of (I) H(hardway, (H1 + H2)/2) < G(grain, (G1 + G2)/2) < R(rift, (R1 + R2)/2), (II) R < G < H, (III) G < H < R and (IV) H < G < R. On the contrary, the values of parameters for three planes are in orders of (I) R' < G' < H', (II) H' < G' < R' and (III and IV) R' < H' < G'. Especially the values of parameters belonging to group I and group II show mutual reverse orders. In conclusion, this type of correlation analysis is useful for discriminating three quarrying planes.

3D Mesh Creation using 2D Delaunay Triangulation of 3D Point Clouds (2차원 딜로니 삼각화를 이용한 3차원 메시 생성)

  • The 3D Delaunay triangulation is the most widely used method for the mesh creation via the triangulation of a 3D point cloud. However, the method involves a heavy computational cost and, hence, in many interactive applications, it is not appropriate for surface triangulation. In this paper, we propose an efficient triangulation method to create a surface mesh from a 3D point cloud. We divide a set of object points into multiple subsets and apply the 2D Delaunay triangulation to each subset. A given 3D point cloud is cut into slices with respect to the OBB(Oriented Bounding Box) of the point set. The 2D Delaunay triangulation is applied to each subset producing a partial triangulation. The sum of the partial triangulations constitutes the global mesh. As a postprocessing process, we eliminate false edges introduced in the split steps of the triangulation and improve the results. The proposed method can be effectively applied to various image-based modeling applications.

  • In this paper, we present a robust hand recognition approach to sudden illumination changes. The proposed approach constructs a background model with respect to hue and hue gradient in HSI color space and extracts a foreground hand region from an input image using the background subtraction method. Eighteen features are defined for a hand pose and multi-class SVM(Support Vector Machine) approach is applied to learn and classify hand poses based on eighteen features. The proposed approach robustly extracts the contour of a hand with variations in illumination by applying the hue gradient into the background subtraction. A hand pose is defined by two Eigen values which are normalized by the size of OBB(Object-Oriented Bounding Box), and sixteen feature values which represent the number of hand contour points included in each subrange of OBB. We compared the RGB-based background subtraction, hue-based background subtraction and the proposed approach with sudden illumination changes and proved the robustness of the proposed approach. In the experiment, we built a hand pose training model from 2,700 sample hand images of six subjects which represent nine numerical numbers from one to nine. Our implementation result shows 92.6% of successful recognition rate for 1,620 hand images with various lighting condition using the training model.

  • 본 논문에서는 3D 점집합으로부터 3D 메쉬를 생성하는 효율적인 기법을 소개한다. 대표적인 3D 삼각화 방법으로 3D Delaunay 삼각화 기법이 있으나 물체의 표면만을 고려한 메쉬 생성을 위한 방법으로 비효율적인 측면이 있다. 본 논문에서는 적은 계산량으로 물체의 표면 메쉬를 생성하는 기법을 소개한다. 물체의 각 영역을 분할하고 각 영역에 대해서 2D Delaunay 삼각화를 적용하여 3D 메쉬 구조를 얻는다. 3차원 점 집합에 대해 OBB를 계산하고 이를 기준으로 점집합을 다양한 각도에서 자르고 각 부분 점집합에 대해서 2D Delaunay 삼각화를 실시한다. 절단하는 각도의 간격이나 폭은 원래의 3D 점집합에서의 가장 가까운 이웃점들까지의 평균 거리를 이용하여 결정하도록 하였다. 후처리 과정으로 삼각 분할과정에서 잘못된 에지의 연결을 제거함으로써 객체의 삼각 분할 결과를 향상시킨다. 제안된 메쉬 생성 기법은 다양한 영상 기반 모델링 응용에서 효과적으로 적용될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 이러한 방식에서 탈피한, 3D 그래픽을 이용한 1인칭 미니 회피게임을 제작하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 기존의 3인칭 시점에 상하좌우 네 방향으로만 움직이는 방식을 벗어나, 시점을 1인칭으로 변환하고 FPS와 같은 시점과 이동방식을 제공하며, 기존의 2D게임에서 사용되던 축이 고정된 오브젝트의 충돌인 AABB(Axis Aligned Bounding Box)가 아닌 축이 수시로 변하는 OBB(Oriented Bounding Box) 방식을 사용함으로 써, 3D 그래픽에서도 2D 그래픽에서처럼 정교한 충돌 검출 기능이 가능하도록 제작한다.

Constructing AR Game Space through Cuboid Detection in Indoor Environment (실내 환경에서 직육면체 검출을 통한 AR 게임 공간 구성)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of constructing AR game spaces through cuboid detection in indoor environment. Conventional spatial recognition methods can detect planes only in limited spaces that can be well observed. They are also vulnerable in density and noise. The proposed method overcomes the limitations of the conventional method by constructing AR game spaces by a method of detecting OBBs from spherical videos. Experimental results showed that the proposed method is faster than the conventional method and it is also robust against environmental constraints such as changes in density and noisy.

  • 선로의 레일은 재료적인 특성과 현장의 많은 주변 요소에 의한 불확실성이 매우 높은 시스템으로 결함의 위험이 상존한다. 결함 발생과 조치에 따라 영업손실로 이어지므로 레일 결함 발생과 동시에 적절한 조치가 요구된다. 따라서 레일결함 발생 시 레일교환시기를 파악하는 것이 선로관리비용을 줄일 수 있으며 레일교환에 대한 신속한 판단을 위함 관리기준을 정립하는 것이 요구된다. 현재 국내에서 고속선의 경우 관리 기준이 있으나, 일반철도는 없는 실정이다. 본 연구는 차후 일반철도 180km/h 속도상승을 계획하고 있는 현 시점에 국외 관리기준을 분석하여 결함관리기준을 정립에 기여하고자 한다. 국내의 경우, 2004. 4. 1 프랑스 기술을 전수받아 개통한 고속선은 프랑스 레일관리기준을 적용한 "레일손상 등급별 관리기준"을 제정하여 레일관리를 시행하고 있다. 국외의 경우, INNOTRACK프로젝트 안에서 관련된 다른 IM(Infrastructure Managers, 사회기반시설 관리자들)에게 최근의 활동과 변화의 이해를 제공하기 위해서, 선택된 결함들의 최소조치들의 조사가 Network Rail, OBB, Prorail, Banverket 그리고 DB에서 수행되고 있으며 UIC 지침에도 포함되고 있다. 모든 최소조치 원칙은 초음파나 육안에 의해 발견된 길이나 초음파 또는 와류탐상기(eddy current system)를 이용한 깊이에 대한 제한(limits)을 준다. 또한 침목과 이음매 또는 용접부에 관한 위치에 관한 결함의 제한이 있다. 명시된 기간은 즉각적일 수도 있으며, 보통 속도 제한이나 비상 죔쇠(Clamps)같은 경감시키는 수단에 적용될 수 있으며, 또는 더 긴 기간이 될 수도 있다. 더 긴 기간들은 수리나 레일 교체를 통하여 선로로부터 결함이 제거되어야 하는 최대의 시간이다. 본 연구에서는 Transverse Breaks, Squats, Head Checks 3가지 결함 유형에 대해 각 국에서 사용하는 최소 조치를 비교하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 유럽에서는 레일결함에 대하여 깊이 있는 연구를 통하여 관리기준을 정하여 관리하고 있으며 이에 따라 상세하고 구체적인 레일 관리가 가능하므로 효율적이며 안전성이 제고되는 것으로 판단된다. 차후 일반철도의 180km/h 속도상승을 계획하고 있는 현 시점에서 국내철도 일반선 여건에 적합한 레일결함관리기준을 정립하기 위한 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The increase of input resources, such as labor and equipment, in a construction project causes workspace interference between activities and it influences on the productivity and quality of construction activities. To solve this problem, many studies related to the workspace interference have been performed, however they verified the workspace concerning with only the geometric location of activities or generated the shape of workspace by a whole object concept not separated units of detailed operations. It is difficult for project manager to reasonably analyze the workspace conflict, because the size of workspace cannot reflect the characteristics of an activity and input time of a resource. This paper presents a methodology that can generate three-dimensional models in order to optimize the workspace shape and size by considering with the characteristics of each activity and input time of each resource. The suggested method can be used for the active BIM system that optimizes the workspace conflict without additional construction duration and for the searching algorithm of optimized moving path for construction equipment.
