A Critical Review on Mobility Business and Government Regulations: Trends, Issues, and Conflict Management (Mobility 신산업 동향 및 쟁점, 그리고 정부의 역할 : O2O, 승차공유, 택배, 물류 분야의 전망 및 규제연구를 중심으로)

  • This review article summarizes the trends and issues around the mobility business and government regulations in Korea. Key issues identified involve unclear government regulations, conflict management between key stakeholders, platform labor, and regional conflicts. The study then offers an overview of the current government regulations on the mobility business and conflict management, along with some policy recommendations in the areas of linking conflict resolution efforts with the welfare safety net, and corporates' social responsibility for the sustainable ecosystem. Ultimately, an ecosystem is required for multiple ministries and stakeholders to participate in the process of improving the regulations, as well as a control tower (government agency) who plays the pivotal role as a coordinator.

  • 인터넷 상거래의 발전으로 온라인 쇼핑몰은 간편 결제와 같은 다양한 페이들을 지원하며 결제방식에 있어서 다양한 방법들을 제공하고 있다. 한편, 경쟁 우위에 있는 다양한 온라인 앱들은 O2O(Online-to-Offline) 서비스를 기반으로 오프라인 매장에도 진출하고 있다. 반면, 기존의 오프라인 사업장을 가진 소상공인들은 ICT 적용과 활용을 위한 개발에 어려움을 겪고 있을 뿐만 아니라 고객 관리와 광고 등에서도 상대적인 열세로 인하여 오프라인 사업장의 수익은 점점 줄어드는 실정이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 블루투스 비콘 기술을 사용하여 고객 관리와 광고 등이 가능하며, 오프라인 사업장에도 적용이 가능한 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법을 통하여 오프라인 매장에서도 온라인 쇼핑몰처럼 관리가 가능하다.

  • Recent advancement in wireless communications and electronics has enabled the development of low power sensor network. Wireless sensor network are often used in remote monitoring control applications, health care, security and environmental monitoring. Wireless sensor networks are an emerging technology consisting of small, low-power, and low-cost devices that integrate limited computation, sensing, and radio communication capabilities. Sensor network platform for health care has been designed, fabricated and tested. This system consists of an embedded micro-controller, Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver, power management, I/O expansion, and serial communication (RS-232). The hardware platform uses Atmel ATmega128L 8-bit ultra low power RISC processor with 128KB flash memory as the program memory and 4KB SRAM as the data memory. The radio transceiver (Chipcon CC1000) operates in the ISM band at 433MHz or 916MHz with a maximum data rate of 76.8kbps. Also, the indoor radio range is approximately 20-30m. When many sensors have to communicate with the controller, standard communication interfaces such as Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or Integrated Circuit ($I^{2}C$) allow sharing a single communication bus. With its low power, the smallest and low cost design, the wireless sensor network system and wireless sensing electronics to collect health-related information of human vitality and main physiological parameters (ECG, Temperature, Perspiration, Blood Pressure and some more vitality parameters, etc.)

Keyword Analysis of Data Technology Using Big Data Technique (빅데이터 기법을 활용한 Data Technology의 키워드 분석)

  • With the advent of the Internet-based economy, the dramatic changes in consumption patterns have been witnessed during the last decades. The seminal change has led by Data Technology, the integrated platform of mobile, online, offline and artificial intelligence, which remained unchallenged. In this paper, I use data analysis tool (TexTom) in order to articulate the definitfite notion of data technology from Internet sources. The data source is collected for last three years (November 2015 ~ November 2018) from Google and Naver. And I have derived several key keywords related to 'Data Technology'. As a result, it was found that the key keyword technologies of Big Data, O2O (Offline-to-Online), AI, IoT (Internet of things), and cloud computing are related to Data Technology. The results of this study can be used as useful information that can be referred to when the Data Technology age comes.

Fabrication and Characteristics of Micro Platform for Micro Gas Sensor with Low Power Consumption (마이크로 가스센서의 저전력 구동을 위한 마이크로 플랫폼의 제작과 특성)

  • A Micro platform for micro gas sensor consisted of micro heater, insulator, and sensing electrode on 2 ${\mu}m$ thick $SiN_x$ membrane. Three types of micro platforms were designed and fabricated with membrane sizes. Total size of micro platform was 2.6 mm by 2.6 mm. Measured power consumptions were 28 mW, 28 mW, and 32.5 mW for Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3. At this moment, temperatures of membranes on the platforms were $295^{\circ}C$, $297^{\circ}C$, and $296^{\circ}C$, respectively. Fabricated micro platform considered appropriate to apply for low power consumption micro gas sensor. Micro gas sensors were prepared by the sequence that $SnO_2$ nanopowder pastes were dropped on membrane of Type 1 platforms, dried in oven, heat-treated with micro heaters in platforms. One of the micro gas sensors was tested for gas response to 1157 ppm, 578 ppm, and 231 ppm of methane and 1.68 ppm, 0.84 ppm, and 0.42 ppm of $NO_2$.

New Parallel Mechanism for Biped Robots (병렬형 다리 구조를 가진 2족 보행 로봇의 설계 및 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose new parallel mechanism of a 3 dimensional biped robot whose each leg is composed of two 3-dof parallel platforms linked serially. This proposed parallel mechanism is able to move freely in the man-made environment and is applied to various fields, such as medical, welfare, and so on. And a total weight of each leg is expected to be lighter than serial linked leg. One side leg consists of a 3-dof orientation platform and 3-dof asymmetric parallel platform. The former consists of three active linear actuators and seven passive joints, and the latter of two active linear actuators, one active rotational actuator and eight passive joints. Thus, there are two kinds of parallel platforms each chain's elements and active joint's positions are different for the biped robot to move freely like a serial link without the kinematics constraints. The effectiveness and the performance of the proposed parallel mechanism and locomotion trajectory are shown in computer simulations with a 12-DOF parallel biped robot.

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

Effect of Scutellaria baicalensis and Gastrodia elata on Learning and Memory Processes (황금과 천마의 학습 및 기억에 미치는 영향)

  • Learning and memory are essential requirements for every living organism in order to cope with environmental demands, and cholinergic systems are known to be involved in learning and memory. Scutellaria baicalensis (SB) and Gastrodia elata (GE) as a traditional Oriental medicine have been clinically used to treat or prevent memory deficits, including Alzheimer's disease. In the present study, we investigated the effects of SB and GE on learning and memory in the Morris water maze task and the central cholinergic system of the rats with excitotoxic medial septum lesions. In the water maze test, the animals were trained to find a platform at a fixed position over 6 days and then received a 60-s probe trial in which the platform was removed from the pool on the 7th day. Ibotenic lesion of the medial septum (MS) impaired their performance in the maze test (latency of acquisition test on the 3rd day, $27.6{\pm}$4.4 sec vs. $61.7{\pm}17.7$ sec; retention test, $7.9{\pm}1.3%$ vs. $5.7{\pm}1.0%$: sharn vs. ibotenic lesioned groups, respectively) and reduced choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) - immunoreactivity in the MS and the hippocarnpus, which is a marker for degeneration of the central cholinergic system (number of cells, $21.1{\pm}1.1$ vs. $13.2{\pm}1.3$: sham vs. ibotenic lesioned group). Daily administrations of SB (100mg/kg, p.o.) and GE (100mg/kg, p.o.) for 21 consecutive days produced significant reversals of ibotenic acid-induced deficit in learning and memory. These treatments also reduced the loss of cholinergic immunoreactivity in the MS and the hippocarnpus induced by ibotenic acid. These results demonstrated that SB and GE ameliorated learning and memory deficits through effects on the central nervous system, partly through effect on the acetylcholine system. Our studies suggest an evidence of SB and GE as treatment for Alzheimer's disease.

  • A novel multi-layer type micro gas sensor for $NO_X$ detection was designed and fabricated. Micro platform defined as type II-1 in this article for micro gas sensor was fabricated using the MEMS technology to meet the demanding needs of lower power consumption. Nano composite materials were fabricated with nanosized tin oxide powder and $\underline{m}$ulti-$\underline{w}$all $\underline{c}$arbon $\underline{n}$ano $\underline{t}$ube (MWCNT) to improve sensitivity. We investigated characteristics of fabricated multi-layer type micro gas sensor with $NO_2$ concentration variations at constant 2.2 V. Sensitivity (S) of micro gas sensor were observed to increase from 2.9, to 7.4 and 11.2 as concentrations of $NO_2$ gases increased from 2.4 ppm, to 3.6 ppm and 4.9 ppm. When 2.4 ppm of $NO_2$ gas was applied, response time and recovery time of micro gas sensor were recorded as 101 seconds and 142 seconds, respectively.

Comparative Genomics Platform and Phylogenetic Analysis of Fungal Laccases and Multi-Copper Oxidases

  • Laccases (EC 1.10.3.2), a group of multi-copper oxidases (MCOs), play multiple biological functions and widely exist in many species. Fungal laccases have been extensively studied for their industrial applications, however, there was no database specially focused on fungal laccases. To provide a comparative genomics platform for fungal laccases, we have developed a comparative genomics platform for laccases and MCOs (http://laccase.riceblast.snu.ac. kr/). Based on protein domain profiles of characterized sequences, 3,571 laccases were predicted from 690 genomes including 253 fungi. The number of putative laccases and their properties exhibited dynamic distribution across the taxonomy. A total of 505 laccases from 68 genomes were selected and subjected to phylogenetic analysis. As a result, four clades comprised of nine subclades were phylogenetically grouped by their putative functions and analyzed at the sequence level. Our work would provide a workbench for putative laccases mainly focused on the fungal kingdom as well as a new perspective in the identification and classification of putative laccases and MCOs.
