The Electric Properties of High Voltage Varistor with Rare Oxides (희토류 산화물 첨가에 따른 고압용 바리스터 전기적 특성)

  • ZnO을 주원료로 하고 첨가제로 $Bi_2O_3$, $Sb_2O_3$, $Nd_2O_3$, CoO, $Cr_2O_3$, $MnO_2$, NiO를 고정한 후 $Y_2O_3$ 첨가량에 바리스터의 전기적 특성을 검토하였다. $Y_2O_3$ 첨가량이 증가할 수록 바리스터 전압이 직선적으로 증가함을 확인할 수 있으며 결정립계에 존재하는 스핀넬상에 $Y_2O_3$가 이차상으로 존재함을 확인 할 수 있었다. $Y_2O_3$ 첨가에 따라 ZnO 결정입자 성장을 방해하여 바리스터 전압을 증가시키는 반면 결정립의 크기를 불균일하게 하여 유전율을 감소시키고 유전손실은 증가함을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과 $Y_2O_3$ 첨가로 바리스터 전압은 350 V/mm이상을 얻을 수 있으며 누설전류를 $1{\mu}A$이하로 하는 조성을 얻을 수 있었으며 소형 바리스터 제작이 가능함을 확인하였다.

O$_3$/H$_2$O$_2$와 O$_3$/Catalyst 고급산화공정에서 1,4-dioxane의 제거 특성 연구

  • O$_3$/H$_2$O$_2$ 고급산화공정에서 1,4-D의 제거는 반응시간에 따라 완만하게 감소하였으나, O$_3$/catalyst 고급산화공정에서는 전체 제거량의 약 50${\sim}$75%가 반응 초기 5분 내에 제거되어 O$_3$/H$_2$O$_2$ 공정에 비해 초기 반응속도가 현저히 빠른 것을 알 수 있었다. O$_3$/H$_2$O$_2$ 고급산화공정은 ${\Delta}$TOC/${\Delta}$ThOC의 비는 0.09${\sim}$0.40으로 나타났으며, O$_3$/catalyst 고급산화공정에서는 ${\Delta}$TOC/${\Delta}$ThOC의 비가 0.68${\sim}$0.98로 나타나 O$_3$/catalyst 고급산화공정이 O$_3$/H$_2$O$_2$ 고급산화공정에 비해 유기물의 산화력이 우수한 것으로 확인되었다.

  • ZnO varistor with composition of ZnO(90wt%)-$Bi_2O_3$(3wt%)-$Sb_2O_3$(3.61wt%)-$CO_2O_3$(1.16wt%)-NiO (0.88wt%)-$MnO_2$(0.71wt%)-$Cr_2O_3$(0.93wt%) according to $Al_2O_3$ addtive was fabricated by sintering methods. The optimal densification were established for the processing conditions of 8000 rpm 190$^{\circ}C$ spray drying and 1200$^{\circ}C$ 2hrs sintering. Then here investigated how additive compotions and processing variables affected the electrical and the phesical properties of these ZnO varistors.

Improved Ethanol Gas Sensing Performance of α-Fe2O3 Nanoparticles by the Addition of NiO Nanoparticles (NiO의 첨가에 따른 α-Fe2O3 나노입자 센서의 에탄올 가스 검출 특성 향상)

  • In order to investigate the effect of NiO on the ethanol gas sensing performance of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles, NiO and ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles are synthesized by hydrothermal method. The sensor with ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ and NiO nanoparticles mixed at an optimum ratio of 7:3 showed 3.8 times improved sensing performance for 200ppm ethanol gas at $200^{\circ}C$. The enhanced gas sensing performance can be considered to be caused by pn heterojunction at the grain boundaries of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ and NiO nanopartcles.

  • The $MgTiO_3\; and \;$0.9MgTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ ceramics were fabricated by the conventional mixed-oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were $1300^{\circ}C~1600^{\circ}C$, 2hr., respectively. The structural and microwave dielectric properties were investigated with sintering temperature and the application for the satellite communication microwave dielectric resonator was investigated. The coexistence of cubic $SrTiO_3$ and hexagonal TEX>$MgTiO_3$ structures in $0.9MgTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ ceramics were found from X-ray diffraction patterns. In the case of $MgTiO_3$ ceramics, sphere phase and needle-like phase were coexisted. The $0.9MgTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ ceramics observed sphere phase. The dielectric constants and temperature coefficient of resonant $frequency(\tauf)$ were increased with addition of $SrTiO_3$ but the quality factor was decreased. The dielectric constant, quality factor and $\tau$f of the;$0.9MgTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ ceramics were 22.61, 10.928(at 1GHz) and $+50.26ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively.

$BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ Heterolayered Thin/Thick films Dielectric Properties ($BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ 이종층 박막/후막의 유전특성)

  • $SrTiO_3$ and $BaTiO_3$ sol-liquids and powders were prepared by the sol-gel method. $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ heterolayered thin/thick films have been prepared on the $Al_2O_3$ substrates by screen printing and spin-coating method. The thin films were sintered at $750^{\circ}C$ in the air for 1 hour and the thick films sintered at $1325^{\circ}C$ in the air for 2 hours, respectively. The $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ thin/thick films's structural and dielectric properties were investigated. Increasing the spin-coating times, (110), (200), (211) peaks of the $SrTiO_3$ were increased. The X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns and SEM photographs indicated that the $SrTiO_3$ phase were formed in the surface of $BaTiO_3$ thick films. The average thickness of a $BaTiO_3$ thick films and $SrTiO_3$ thin films were $50{\mu}m$ and 400nm, respectively The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ thin/thick films with $SrTiO_3$ coated 5 times were 1598 and 0.0436 at 10KHz.

  • Quantitative analysis each portland cement components was conducted by standard calibration method using X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. Standard sample and the unknown sample were prepared by fused cast bead method. In checking the errors of standard cement 227A372 the relative errors of constituents such as CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO and SrO were less than 1% and the relative errors of constituents such as So3, K2O, TiO2, Na2O P2O5, and Mn2O3 were less than 5% Sample preparation was mainly contributed to the errors. Compared with general wet chemical method the results of X-ray fluorescence analyses were more precise and accurate. Moreover it is possible to analyze precisely a little amount of the constituents such as SrO, Mn2O3 and P2O5 the analyses of which were very difficult using the wet chemical method.

Phase Relation and Microwave Dielectric Properties of $BaO-(Nd, Sm)_2O_3-TiO_2$ Ceramic System ($BaO-(Nd, Sm)_2O_3-TiO_2$계 세라믹스의 상관계 및 마이크로파 유전특성)

  • Phase relation and microwave dielectric properties of the system BaO.(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.TiO2 (n=4, 5) were studied. With n=5 (1 : 1 : 5), Ba2Ti9O20 and TiO2 formed in case of X$\leq$0.7, and Ba2Ti9O20 and Sm2Ti2O7 formed at X=1.0 as the second phases dispersed in fine-grained orthorhombic matrix phase. With n=4 (1 : 1 : 4). on the contrary, only fine grains of an ortho-rhombic phase were observed irrespective of Nd/Sm ratio. The compositions of these two stable orthorombic phases having distinct lattic constants even with the same Nd/Sm ratio were estimated as 4BaO.5(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.18TiO2 and BaO.(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.4TiO2 with n=5 and n=4 in the system BaO.(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.TiO2, respectively. Consequently the composition BaO.(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.5TiO2 lies in the compatible triangle of 4BaO.5(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.18TiO2 and the second phases mentioned above. The microwave dielectric properties (~4 GHz) of BaO.(Nd1-xSmx)2O3.5TiO2 can be controlled effectively by adjusting Sm content : with increasing X from 0 to 0.7, both dielectric constant and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency decreased monotonically from 82 to 65 and from 91 (ppm/$^{\circ}C$) to -19(ppm/$^{\circ}C$), respectively, while unloaded Q(Qo) remained constant at about 2,600.

  • To improve mechanical properties of $Al_2$O$_3$/ZrO$_2$composites have been controlled dispersion of ultra low size ZrO$_2$ particles in $Al_2$O$_3$ ceramics by polymeric precursor method (Pechini process). In case of coprecipitation or mechanical mixing of ZrO$_2$ powders with $Al_2$O$_3$, homogeneous dispersion and controlling the ZrO$_2$ size were relatively difficult due to high sintering temperature. So the polyesterization process of Zr/Y(NO$_3$)$_3$-citric acid solution in ethylene glycol with the commercial sub-micron sized o(-alumina powder (Sumitomo AES-11(0.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)) was adopted in order to obtain homogeneous dispersion of ZrO$_2$ in A1203. By this partial polyesterization process, the homogeneous dispersion of relatively low sized ZrO$_2$in $Al_2$O$_3$/ZrO$_2$composites was achieved at 1450∼1$600^{\circ}C$ of sintering temperature range and their mechanical properties were measured.
