콘칼로리미터와 가스유해성 시험법을 이용한 카페트류의 연소특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Burning Properties of Various Carpet Samples by using the Cone Calorimeter and Gas Toxicity Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 나일론, 폴리프로필렌, PTT(poly(trimethylene terephthalate)), 양모(wool), 그리고 나일론/양모로 이루어진 5 종류의 카페트에 대한 연소거동을 열류량 $50kWm^2$의 콘 칼로리미터를 이용하여 평가하였으며, 가스유해성 평가는 KS F 2271의 시험방법에 따라 평가하였다. 콘 칼로리미터 실험결과 나일론 카페트는 쉽게 불이 붙는 것을 알 수 있었다. 점화 정도 혹은 초기 가연성은 나일론/양모로 이루어진 카페트가 가장 높은 값을 나타냈다. 불의 세기인 열방출량은 폴리프로필렌 카페트가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 나일론 카페트가 가장 높은 연기 발생량을 보인 반면, 나일론/양모로 이루어진 카페트는 가장 낮은 가스 발생량을 나타냈다. 질량 감소율은 나일론/양모 >양모 >나일론 >폴리프로필렌 >PTT 카페트 순으로 나타났다. 연소 시 발생하는 유해성 가스인 일산화탄소의 경우 PTT에서 가장 많은 발생량을 보였으며, 나일론과 양모로 이루어진 카페트에서 가장 적은 양이 발생됐다. 이산화탄소의 발생량은 폴리프로필렌이 가장 높았으며, 나일론/양모 카페트에서 가장 낮은 값을 나타냈다. 쥐의 행동정지시간을 통해 살펴 본 결과 카페트류의 가스유해성은 PTT 카페트가 가장 해로운 것으로 나타났다.

Limits of Exogenous Fibrolytic Enzymes to Improve Digestion and Intake of a Tropical Grass

  • The effect of the addition of exogenous fibrolytic enzymes (mainly xylanase and cellulase activities, 15 ml/15 kg of fresh forage), on intake, total tract digestibility and nylon bag degradability of a chopped fresh Digitaria decumbens grass was studied at 2 stages of regrowth ( 21 and 56-day old grasses). Moreover, comparisons between ground and chopped grass were done using the nylon bag degradability method. DM intake (g/kg $BW^{0.75}$) and organic matter total tract digestibility for control and enzyme treatments respectively were 69.1 vs. 65.9 (p>0.05) and 0.723 vs. 0.727 (p>0.05) with the 21-day old regrowth. Based on the same parameters, values for the 56-day old grass were 58.1 vs. 52.7 (p>0.05) and 0.621 vs. 0.591 (p>0.05). Nylon bag degradation at 24 h of the dry matter for control versus enzyme treatments were 0.653 vs. 0.70 (p<0.05) and 0.644 vs. 0.733 (p<0.0001) for the 21-day old chopped and ground forage respectively, whereas with the 56-day old grass, corresponding values were 0.321 vs. 0.392 (p<0.0001) and 0.463 vs. 0.481 (p>0.05). The positive impact of exogenous fibrolytic enzymes (EFE) on degradability of the young and ground pangola grass may suggest that in some cases, enzyme accessibility to potentially digestible cell wall is a limiting factor in their digestion.

DETERMINATION OF THE APPARENT ILEAL DIGESTIBILITY OF PROTEIN AND AMINO ACIDS IN FEEDSTUFFS AND MIXED DIETS FOR GROWIG-FINSHING PIGS WITH THE MOBILE NYLON BAG TECHNIQUE

  • A series of experiments was conducted to determine the influence of various pepsin-HCL pretreatment factor, hereby the factors of duration of washing for the retrieved bags, inherent to the mobile nylon bag technique (MNBT), on apparent ileal digestibility of crude protein (AIDCP) and apparent ileal digestibility of dry matter (AIDDM). At last, the AIDCP and apparent ileal digestibility of amino acids (AIDAA) in maize, barley, wheat, rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal and three mixed diets were determined with the MNBT and ileo-rectal anastomis pigs (IRAT). For the MNBT techniques, bag measuring $25{\times}40$ MM and containing 0.75 g feedstuff samples, after pre-digestion in vitro, were introduced into the ileo-rectal anastomis pigs (IRAT) gastrointestinal tract through a duodenal cannula and recovered in the ileal digesta between 6 and 12 h. later. 1. The apparent ileal digestibility of dry matter (AIDDM) and crude protein (AIDCP) of the tested samples, with the exception of fish meal, determined by MNBT were not affected by the different pepsin-HCL pretreatment times in vitro between 2.5 h. and 4 h. 2. There was no significant (p > 0.05) difference of the AIDCP and AIDDM of maize determined by the MNBT among different pepsin concentration (0.03%, 0.07% and 0.1 %) treatment in vitro. 3. The AIDCP determined with the MNBT was affected by the washed and unwashed recovered bags from the ileal digesta. 4. The AIDCP and AID amino acids (AIDAA) of maize, barley, wheat, rapeseed meal, soya-bean meal, cottonseed meal and three mixed diets from the MNBT, with a solution of 0.01N HCL (PH 2) and 0.1% of pepsin concentration, a pepsin-HCL pretreatment time in vitro or 4h. and a washing time of the recovered bag from the ileal digesta compared well with those from the IRAT. The linear regression analysis showed a significant correlation (p < 0.01) of AIDCP and AIDDA between the IRAT and MNBT.

개방성 치조골 골절의 고정법: 응급실에서 간편하게 적용할 수 있는 방법 (Fixation of Open Alveolar Bone Fractures: Easily Applicable Method in the Emergency Department)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this clinical trial was to evaluate the fixation method for treating alveolar fractures in an emergency department. Methods: The efficiency of using the fixation method was judged on the basis of clinical criteria. Stability, occlusion state, bleeding amount after fixation, operation time, and difficulties during procedural operation were recorded. Results: Eight patients were enrolled in this study. In all instances, the fixation method was effective in bleeding control. Each patient had a noticeable decrement in bleeding. A wire was used for four of the eight patients, and nylon strings was used for the others. The average operation time was 6.3 minutes for the wire patients and 2.8 minutes for the Nylon string patients. No specific problem was identified during the procedural operation. However, the difference in the fixation material influenced the effectiveness of the procedure, the operation time, and the satisfaction of the doctor. Conclusion: In the emergency department, the fixation method using wire or nylon string in the treatment of alveolar fractures is effective in bleeding control

  • 샤피충격시험은 동적하중 하에 있는 고분자 재료의 거동을 이해하는데 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 샤피충격시험장치에서 얻어지는 파단에너지를 사용하여 나일론 소재 샤피 시편의 노치각도에 따른 에너지 해방율을 구하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 샤피충격시험장치를 계장화하여 최대 하중과 파단 시까지 소요되는 에너지 등의 파손인자들을 산출하였다. 그리고 노치각도에 따른 동적파괴 인성치와 유한요소법을 사용하여 중앙집중 하중 하에서 사피 시편의 노치각도에 따른 응력분포를 산출하였다.

감초로 부터 글리시리진의 추출 및 직물의 항균성 (The Extract of the Glycyrrhizin from Glycyrrhizae Radix and Antibacterial Activity of the Treated Fabrics)

  • This study investigates the attachment of glycyrrhizin to fabric using an X-ray photoelectron spectrophotometer( XPS). XPS spectra analysis showed that carbon content on treated fabrics with 0.2% glycyrrhizin increased to 2.699% for silk, 2.829% for nylon, 1.505% for cotton, respectively. The results show that glycyrrhizin is absorbed on treated fabrics. The glycyrrhizin extraction method makes radix glycyrrhizae powder 10g treat the first and the second treatment with ethanol, remove impurities on $75^{\circ}C$; subsequently, it is treated for 10 hours with ethanol 75% on $85^{\circ}C$ and lyophilizated. As the result, glycyrrhizin is extracted 1.7g in GL-I, 1.1 g in GL-II. As the result of abstracting glycyrrhizin with two methods, pure glycyrrhizin was abstracted 45.9% in GL-I, 74.9% in GL-II. GL-I, GL-II; in addition, glycyrrhizin( Japan) on TLC plate was separated in Rf 0.6. By GL-II extract method, this experiment obtained glycyrrhizin 15 g treated in a bath ratio set to 1: 100. Silk fabric was treated at $80^{\circ}C$, 60 min. in, nylon fabric $10^{\circ}C$, 70 min., and cotton fabric $30^{\circ}C$, 80 min.; subsequently, silk, nylon, cotton fabrics showed a 99.9% antibacterial activity for Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the impact that temperature and relative humidity have on the volatilization loss of particulate nitrate $(NO_3^-)$ from Teflon filters during measurements of ambient fine particles $(PM_{2.5})$. Fine particles $(d_p<2.5{\mu}m)$ were measured using an annular denuder system (ADS) at four representive areas in Seoul. The measurements were made during 28 different days at 24-hr sampling intervals from February 14 to October 15, 1997. In this study, nitrate losses. calculated by the ratio of nitrate on the nylon filter to their sum in both Teflon and nylon titters, varied seasonally in the following order: summer (45.5%) > spring (23.8%) > fall (20.6%) > winter (19.7%). The results showed strong correlations with temperature, but we did not observe any significant effects of relative humidity. However, we observed that both temperature and relative humidity influenced the ambient gas/particle nitrate ratio in a different case study using a denuder.

홍차색소의 성분과 특성 (Components and Characteristics of Black Tea Colorants)

  • Colored components in black tea were extracted, freeze-dried, and analysed to investigate the possibility using as a natural dye. Fractionation of the colored components was carried out by gel permeation chromatography. The colored components in black tea were elected into seven fractions. Each fraction was analyzed by UV spectrophotometer. The early fluted fractions 1-4 did not show any absorption peaks in 320-700 nm and showed the increase in absorption as it approaches to short wavelength and are considered as highly polymerized colored substances. Fractions 5-6 showed tar at 350 m and are considered as thearubigins. Fraction 7 showed absorption peaks at 376 nm and 456 nm and is considered as theaflavin. IR spectra of each fraction show: Strong C=0 stretching band at 1650 cm-1 appears in fractions 1-4, but not in fractions 5-7. Strong C=0 stretching band at 1700 cm-L appears in fraction 3-7. C=0 stretching band at 1610 cm-1 appears as a shoulder in fraction 4 and progressively changes into strong peak in fraction 5-7. From these results, it is assumed that colored components in black tea consist of polyphenolic substances having different molecular weight which were formed during tea manufacturing process. The colorants from black tea infusion were applied to silk, wool, cotton and nylon fabrics. Black tea colorants showed high affinity to wool, silk and nylon, but very low affinity to cotton fabrics.
