  • To identify health behavior of Peptic ulcer patients among all employees in Korea and examine relevant factors to present basic data for improving Korean adult employees' health conditions and quality of living, 3,515 employees aged 20 to 69 were sampled from the group that responded to the question concerning the presence of Peptic ulcer in the fourth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey for the third year (2009). After logistic regression analysis was carried out to see the effects of working conditions, harmful factors, shift work, stress perception, and experience of depression on the presence of Peptic ulcer, it was found that unsafe or unpleasant working conditions led to higher risk of getting Peptic ulcer, that flexible workers were more likely to get Peptic ulcer, and that depression or stress perception exerted almost no effect on Peptic ulcer. With the increase in the number of flexible workers, increasingly more interest is taken in the effects of shift work on health; occupational Peptic ulcer tends to become chronic as compared with the condition in the general population and reappear even after recovery in many cases; therefore, it is necessary to take special management measures by estimating the number of those at a risk of getting Peptic ulcer and by finding out its risk factors.

Moreover, subjects without dinner consumption had 0.658 times lower possibilities of obesity. In addition, consumption of three meals a day will be obesity 0.771 times lower than that of one or two meals a day(OR=0.771, 95%CI=0.65-0.913). Conclusions: The goal of this study is to achieve a better understanding of the characteristics of obesity depending on the elderly's eating habits and finally to present the baseline data for the improvement of their dietary habits.

Methods: The interview survey was performed in March 2004 with structured questionnaires to 510 respondents of the residents who lived in Muan-Gun of Jeonnam province. The questionnaire was the abridged Scale of the Nutritional Knowledge Attitude Practice(SNKA) and health status as the morbidity, subjective health status, health management, and health examination. The covariate, F-test or t-test, and Chi-squire method were used for some of the cross-sectional data. Results: Average weight of nutritional knowledge was $10.64{\pm}5.98$ by SNKA of the 20 items(0-20). Average weight of nutritional attitude practice was $64.59{\pm}7.72$ by SNKA of the 20 items(20-80). The level of the nutritional knowledge was lower than the level of the nutritional attitude practice. 77.3% of the respondents have been health management, 49.6% of the respondents have been health examination. A majority of the respondents(31.3%) had disease, while 13.5% of the respondents had chronic disease, and 17.8% of the respondents had acute disease. The level of nutritional knowledge and general characteristics was positively correlated while the relationships were positive between nutritional knowledge and health status, and between nutritional attitude practice and health status. Conclusion: These results suggested that education programs of the nutritional knowledge were necessary for the residents of rural area. And behavior change of the nutritional knowledge were necessary for the residents of rural area. Further research would be required to specify the necessities and operation researches.

  • The study was conducted to identify related risk factor of elderly's suicidal ideation. This study used a cross-sectional design with secondary analysis of the $6^{th}$ 2013 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Data for 1,201 elderlies who aged over 65 years old from the KNHANES were included. Suicidal ideation, general characteristics, physical health, psychological health, EuroQoL, and health behavior were measured. Chi-square test, t-test, and multiple logistic regression were used to analyze this data through the SPSS win 22.0 program. In the results, 7.7% of the elderly had suicidal ideation. The odds ratios of suicidal ideation were significantly higher among those with restriction of activity (OR=1.31, CI=1.40~3.82), those with depression (OR=4.44, CI=1.66~7.40), and those with high levels of stress (OR=9.24, CI=3.48~24.5). Therefore, the activity level, depression level, and stress level need to be regularly assessed in order to prevent suicidal ideation among the elderly.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of mental health (stress perception, depression, suicidal ideation) on binge drinking among adolescents according to gender. Data were collected from the 12th (2016) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey(KYRBWS) and 65,528 middle and high school students, aged 12-18 years, were selected. Data analysis was conducted by using logistic regression analysis for mental health effects on binge drinking. The results showed that the binge drinking due to mental health of female students was higher in that of male students (stress perception: 1,444 times (95% CI: 1,200-1,737), depression: 1,843 times (95% CI: 1.674-2.029), suicidal ideation: 1.656 times (95% CI: 1.464-1.872)). The development of preventive / therapeutic programs for binge drinking should include not only the management of risk factors for mental health but also various approaches depending on gender.

Fifty five percent of subjects responded the average weekly internet usage hours was 'less than 3 hours', The e-health literacy (r=.349, p<.001) and subjective health status (r=.466, p<.001) were positively correlated with health seeking behavior. Subjects' gender (β=.22, p=.012), type of disease (β=.23, p=.013) and subjective health status (β=.38, p<.001) had significant effects on health-seeking behaviors. The results suggest that the development of intervention programs to increase the level of e-Health literacy and subjective health status to improve of their health-seeking behaviors.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the functional status variables related to the care time of health professionals for patients in long-term care facilities. Methods : The functional stati of 1001 patients in 8 long-term care hospitals were examined by the Resident Assessment Instrument for Long-term Care Facility Version 2.0. The care time of health professionals for patients was calculated using data from a self-reported task survey by nurses, auxiliary nurses, private aides, doctors, physiotherapists and social workers. Results : The average care time per diem was 240.6 minutes. The care time by doctors, nurses and private aides were 11.0, 71.0 and 139.5 minutes, respectively. The lower the function of activities of daily living (ADL) and the greater the symptoms of extensive services, special care and clinical complexity, the more care time was served. On the contrary, the greater the symptoms of nursing rehabilitation, depression, cognitive disorder, behavior problem and psychiatry/mood disorder, the less care time was served. Age and gender were not significantly related to the care time. Conclusions : Developing a case mix classification system for elderly long term care patients may be helpful for both of patients and health care providers. The ADL, extensive services, special care and clinical complexity of variables should be considered in the development of a case mix system for the long term care of patients in Korea.
