의과대학생과 간호대학생의 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 비인지적 요인들의 차이: 성취목표지향성과 자기조절학습능력을 중심으로 (Differences in Non-Cognitive Factors Influencing the Academic Achievement of Medical and Nursing Students: Focusing on Achievement Goal Orientation and Self-Regulated Learning)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in non-cognitive factors, specifically achievement goal orientation (AGO) and self-regulated learning (SRL), influencing the academic achievement (AC) of medical and nursing students. 186 students, including 110 medical students and 76 nursing students, completed a survey, which addressed the factors of AGO and SRL. There were significant differences in the factors that affected the academic achievement of medical and nursing students. Multiple regression revealed that the AC of medical students was significantly more affected by mastery-approach AGO (p<0.05), seeking information (p<0.001), and rehearsing/memorizing SRL (p<0.01), while the AC of nursing students was affected by performance-approach AGO, self-efficacy (p<0.001), and time-management SRL. Analysis of variance revealed that significant differences in the sub-factors of AGO and SRL between the medical and nursing students. Thus, it was found that the academic achievement of medical and nursing students was influenced by non-cognitive factors, but there were significant differences in the sub-factors by group. It is suggested that comparative studies with other student groups and a longitudinal study of medical and nursing students need to be conducted, and a personalized counseling and learning intervention focusing on non-cognitive factors should be provided to medical and nursing students.

한.양방협진에 대한 의.한의.간호대학생의 태도비교 (Attitude of Western Medicine, Korean Medicine, and Nursing Students toward the East-West Collaborative Medical Practices)

  • Objectives : This study was aimed to investigate attitude of western medicine(WM), Korean medicine (KM), and nursing school students toward the east-west collaborative medical practices(EWCMP). Methods : The participants were 185 WM students, 123 KM students, and 230 nursing students belonging to two universities (P and D) in Busan metropolitan city, Korea. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics, $X^2$ test, t-test and ANOVA with SPSS win 14.0. Results : Of 538 participants, overall 87.1% has heard EWCMP. Preferred type of EWCMP was significantly different by participants' backgrounds. WM students preferred (western) medical treatment with minor supportive Korean medical care(85.5%). However, KM students emphasized EWCMP with the same weight in both medical and Korean medical treatment(59.0%), and nursing students were in between two schools. Intention to recommend EWCMP for the consumer was 67.4%, and also showed very different between WM students and others, 37.3% of WM students, 89.4% of KM students, and 83.9% of nursing students. WM students showed more negative opinion on the EWCMP than KM and nursing students, Conclusions : The attitude of WM, KM, and nursing school students toward EWCMP was very similar to that of WM doctors, KM doctors, and nurses, respectively. WM students showed big difference in the overall attitude toward EWCMP from that of KM and nursing students. It is recommended to introduce the joint curriculum or exchange programs between WM and KM schools.

한국과 몽골 간호대학생의 주관적 행복감, 임상실습 스트레스, 임상실습 만족도에 대한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Subjective Happiness, Clinical Practice Stress and Satisfaction with Clinical Practice of the Nursing Student's in Korea and Mongolia)

  • 본 논문은 한국과 몽골 간호대학생의 주관적 행복감, 임상실습 스트레스, 임상실습 만족도에 관하여 비교 연구함으로써 몽골과 한국의 간호대학생의 임상실습 만족도를 향상시키기 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 한다. 경남 소재 1개 대학 간호대학생 187명과 몽골 국립의과대학의 간호대학생 100명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 자료분석은 IBM SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 한국 간호대학생이 몽골 간호대학생보다 주관적 행복감, 임상실습 만족도 정도가 낮았으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으며, 임상실습 스트레스는 몽골 간호대학생이 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 또한, 한국 간호대학생은 임상실습 스트레스가 낮을수록, 주관적 행복감이 높을수록 임상실습 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 몽골 간호대학생은 임상실습 스트레스가 낮을수록 임상실습 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 한국과 몽골 간호교육기관의 임상실습 교육에 대한 비교 연구를 시행하여 임상실습 만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 공동 프로그램을 개발하여 효과 검증을 위한 연구가 필요하다.

SimMan3G 시뮬레이션 기반 학습 시나리오 개발 및 효과 연구 : 급성복통 환자를 중심으로 (Development of a scenario and evaluation for SimMan3G simulation-based learning : Case for patient with acute abdominal pain)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop a scenario and to evaluate the students by simulation-based learning of acute abdominal pain case in an emergency unit. The expert group of simulation developed the scenario based on actual abdominal pain by medical treatment records. Methods : Scenario was developed to evaluate the simMan3G simulation-based learning. The scenario was used in 2013 with ten groups of fourth grade 50 nursing students who voluntarily participated in the simulation class. Results : The nursing students were able to express nursing knowledge, learning attitude and self-efficacy. The simulation-based scenario proved to be very effective to students' skill training. The performance of nursing practice through simulation class made the nursing students more confident with patient care. Conclusion : Simulation-based learning was found to be the most effective curriculum to the nursing students and made the students satisfied and confident. So the simulation-based learning would be helpful to other students including paramedic students and medical school students.

간호대학생의 환경의식과 의료폐기물 관련 지식 및 태도 (Nursing Students' Environmental Consciousness and Medical Waste Related Knowledge and Attitudes)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence nursing students' environmental consciousness and knowledge of medical waste have on their attitudes toward medical waste. Methods: The subjects were 211 nursing students recruited from 2 universities. Data were collected with a structured self-report questionnaire comprising measures of environmental consciousness, and knowledge of and attitude toward medical waste. Data analysis was conducted with the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. Results: A total of 211 copies of the questionnaire were used for the final analysis, except for 9 untrusted responses out of 220 that included missing values. Those subjects' environmental consciousness who received environmental education in middle and high schools was higher (t=3.15, p=.002). The higher their grades, the better their knowledge of medical waste (F=3.40, p=.035). Those subjects' knowledge of medical waste who received medical waste education was relatively high (t=3.14, p=.002). Those subjects with clinical practice experience had more sensitive attitudes toward medical waste (t=2.06, p=.041). Those subjects' attitudes toward Medical waste who received medical waste education at the universities were relatively high (t=2.04, p=.043). The subjects' environmental consciousness was positively correlated with their attitudes toward medical waste (r=.44, p<.001). The most influential factor in their attitudes toward medical waste is their environmental attitudes and medical waste education. Conclusion: The higher the nursing students' environmental consciousness, the higher their attitudes toward medical waste. It is necessary to provide environment and medical waste education for nursing students in order to strengthen their environmental consciousness and attitude toward medical waste.

치위생과, 간호과 학생의 의료시장개방에 대한 인식 및 태도에 관한 연구 (A Study on dental hygiene and nursing students' perception and attitudes about medical market opening)

  • Objectives : This study was conducted during the period from August 30 to September 9, 2011 in order to survey difference in the general perception of medical market opening and factors related to the choice of foreign hospitals among dental hygiene and nursing students at universities in Seoul. Methods : For this purpose, 438 students were surveyed using a questionnaire and collected data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 18.0. Conclusions drawn from this study are as follows. Results : 1. With regard to dental hygiene and nursing students' perception of medical market opening according to general characteristics, significant difference was not observed according to gender, experience in working at a hospital, medical institution used, and the frequency of using medical institutions, but significant difference was observed according to department, and interest in healthcare-related news. 2. There was significant difference in dental hygiene and nursing students'pro/con attitude toward medical market opening, but not in gender, experience in working at a hospital, medical institution used, and the frequency of using medical institutions. 3. With regard to intention to visit and revisit foreign hospitals, there was significant difference between dental hygiene and nursing students in intention to visit but not in intention to revisit. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that more research on the medical market opening portion dental hygiene and nursing students' perception and attitude did not differ significantly, so the more accurate and open markets for a variety of medical education and school education and a variety of materials through hands-on experience be grasped should allow. Furthermore, students' acquisition of accurate prior knowledge about medical market opening is expected to be helpful to activate their employment in overseas.

Educational needs for practicing neonatal intensive care among Korean nursing students

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the educational needs for practicing neonatal intensive care among Korean nursing students. Methods: An explorative, sequential, mixed-methods design was used. Qualitative content analysis was conducted of in-depth interviews of six nursing students, five clinical practice faculty members, and five nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit. The results of a survey of 174 nursing students were analyzed quantitatively. Results: Nursing students, clinical practice faculty members, and nurses wanted opportunities for direct nursing practice and education in school during neonatal intensive care practice. In terms of specific educational content, nursing students expressed the highest observation-related educational needs for communication with medical team members, and they expressed the highest practice-related educational needs for operating medical equipment used for neonatal intensive care. The nursing students' needs with regard to the method of practice education were highest for orientation from the head nurses. Conclusion: Communication and operating medical equipment were found to be areas with high educational needs for practicing neonatal intensive care among Korean nursing students. Further research is needed to develop an educational framework and setting for practicing neonatal intensive care that would meet their needs.

연명치료 중단 인식과 태도에 대한 의대생과 간호대생의 차이 (Difference between Medical Students and Nursing Students about Awareness and Attitude toward Withdrawal of Life-Sustaining Medical Treatment)

  • 본 연구는 의대생과 간호대생의 연명치료 중단에 대한 인식과 태도를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 전국 의과대학과 간호대학에 재학 중인 학생으로 2018년 10월 8일부터 11월 15일까지 수집된 자료 240부를 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, Mann Whitney U, ANOVA를 사용해 분석하였다. 연구결과 대상자의 95%이상 연명치료 중단이 필요하다고 답하였다. 연명치료 중단 인식에서 '연명치료 중단이 필요한 주된 요인', '필요하지 않은 이유', '중단 설명의 적절한 시기', '지침서 제정 필요성'에 대해서는 의견이 비슷하였으나 '연명치료의 바람직한 결정자'에 대해서 의대생은 '환자의 의지'가 간호대생은 '환자와 가족의 의지'가 중요하다고 답하였다. 연명치료 중단 태도는 통계적 유의한 차이가 없었고, 연명치료 중단 결정에 있어 간호대생은 의대생에 비해 '가족의 의지와 결정'이 더 중요하다는 태도를 보였다. 연구의 결과를 토대로 예비 의료인인 의대생과 간호대생을 대상으로 올바른 가치관에 근거한 연명치료 중단에 대한 인식과 태도 형성을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 대한 지속적인 논의가 필요하다.

Disease Prevention Knowledge, Anxiety, and Professional Identity during COVID-19 Pandemic in Nursing Students in Zhengzhou, China

  • Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate nursing students' understanding of the prevention of COVID-19, as well as their anxiety towards the disease and their perception of their professional identity in the wake of the pandemic, in Zhengzhou, China. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed to investigate 474 nursing students by cluster sampling using a stratified questionnaire from February 15 to March 31, 2020. Multiple linear regression was used to identify the factors affecting professional identity. Binary and multiple logistic regression were used to identify the factors affecting anxiety. Results: Responders with a high level of understanding of COVID-19 and frequent use of behavioral strategies for its prevention comprised 93.2% and 30.0% of the cohort, respectively. Professional identity was significantly associated with gender and anxiety (p < .050). The prevalence of anxiety among nursing students was 12.4%. Male (odds ratio [OR] = 2.39; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.26~4.52), sophomores (OR = 5.30; 95% CI = 1.61~7.45), and infrequent use of prevention measures (OR = 3.49; 95% CI = 1.16~5.19) had a significant effect on anxiety. Conclusion: Anxiety during the COVID-19 epidemic gives an adverse effect on the professional identity of nursing in students. Nursing education institutions need to provide psychological counseling services for nursing students, in addition to improving their teaching of COVID-19 prevention strategies.

간호 대학생을 위한 전문직간 약물관련 교육프로그램의 연구동향: 주제범위 문헌고찰 (Research trends in interprofessional education programs related to medication for undergraduate nursing students: a scoping review)

  • Purpose: This study investigated how interprofessional education (IPE) related to medication for undergraduate healthcare students, including nursing students, has been designed and conducted. Furthermore, the outcomes of these IPE programs were evaluated. Methods: A scoping review was performed to understand the content and methods of IPE on medication for undergraduate healthcare students, including nursing students. A literature search was done using PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Embase, Research Information Sharing Service, and Korean Nursing Database in English between January 2000 and December 2022. In total, 14 papers were selected and reviewed. Results: Eleven research studies were conducted on the implementation of one-time IPE on medication safety or errors. Among them, six studies focused on providing IPE to nursing students alongside medical and pharmacy students, while three studies targeted nursing and medical students, and two studies focused on nursing and pharmacy students. The most commonly employed educational method was simulation, which was utilized in 12 studies. All studies consistently reported a positive impact on attitudes toward IPE and effective communication. Additionally, five studies evaluating medication knowledge reported improvements in participants' understanding of drugs. Conclusion: The effects of IPE related to medication for undergraduate nursing students have been confirmed. It is necessary to introduce IPE in the field of pharmacology.
