Advances in 3D garment simulation technology contribute greatly to consumers becoming more immersed in movies and games by realistically expressing the garments the characters in the movie or game are wearing. The fashion industry has reached a point where it needs to maximize efficiency in production and distribution to go beyond time and space in order to compete on the global market. The processes of design and product development in the fashion industry require countless hours of work and consume vast resources in terms of materials and energy to repeat sample production and assessment. Therefore, the design and product development tools and techniques must aim to reduce the sample making process. Therefore, this study aims to study a case for comparing the real garment sample making process to the virtual garment sample making process. In this study, we have analysed the differences between the real and virtual garment making processes by choosing designated patterns. As we can see from the study results, the real and virtual garments generally are made through similar processes in manufacturing, while the time consumed for each shows great variation. In real garment making, scissoring and sewing require the greatest number of work hours, whereas in virtual garment making, most of the time was spent in the simulation process.

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of soil properties, such as soil organic matter(SOM) content and water content on die-off and regrowth of indigenous microbes due to in-situ ozonation. Four different soils were collected and the soil samples applied to different ozonation time(0-360 min) were incubated during 4 weeks. Population of the indigenous microbes was monitored during incubation period. The number of indigenous microbes in all samples dramatically decreased (more than 90%) within 30 minutes of ozone injection. With increased ozonation time by 360 minutes, the number of the indigenous microbes decreased by 99.99% in all samples. Die-off of the indigenous microbes due to ozone treatment was inversely proportional to SOM and water content. Especially, sample 3 and Sample 4 containing relatively high SOM content and water content showed high regrowth rate, and this resulted from the increase of water soluble and biodegradable organic fraction in soil water after ozone treatment. Soil sample ozonated for 360 minutes showed minor increase in microbial population during 4 weeks of incubation period.

In the present study, the Weibull statistical analysis using the Monte-Carlo simulation has been performed to investigate the micro-Vickers hardness measurement reliability considering the variability. Experimental indentation test were performed with a micro-Vickers hardness tester for as-received and quenching and tempering specimens in SCM440 steels. The distribution of micro-Vickers hardness is found to be 2-parameter Weibull distribution function. The mean values and coefficients of variation (COV) for both data set are compared with results based on Weibull statistical analysis. Finally, Monte-Carlo simulation was performed in order to evaluate the effect of sample size on the micro-Vickers hardness measurement reliability. For the parent distribution with shape parameter 30.0 and scale parameter 200.0 (COV=0.040), the number of sample data required to obtain the true Weibull parameters was founded by 20. For the parent distribution with shape parameter 10.0 and scale parameter 200.0 (COV=0.1240), the number of sample data required to obtain the true Weibull parameters was founded by 30.

A method which determines the number of replications in the simulation is proposed, particularly for small-sample comparison of estimators. This method takes the smallest number of replications that makes the difference of mean square errors be statistically significant and provides an efficient algorithm for calculating the standard error of the mean square error. Two examples are illustrated, the first one is on comparison of mean and median ; the second, the Kaplan-Meier type and Buckley-James type estimators of a quantile function with censored data.
Abnormal samples are usually difficult to obtain in production systems, resulting in imbalanced training sample sets. Namely, the number of positive samples is far less than the number of negative samples. Traditional Support Vector Machine (SVM)-based anomaly detection algorithms perform poorly for highly imbalanced datasets: the learned classification hyperplane skews toward the positive samples, resulting in a high false-negative rate. This article proposes a new imbalanced SVM (termed ImSVM)-based anomaly detection algorithm, which assigns a different weight for each positive support vector in the decision function. ImSVM adjusts the learned classification hyperplane to make the decision function achieve a maximum GMean measure value on the dataset. The above problem is converted into an unconstrained optimization problem to search the optimal weight vector. Experiments are carried out on both Cloud datasets and Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining datasets to evaluate ImSVM. Highly imbalanced training sample sets are constructed. The experimental results show that ImSVM outperforms over-sampling techniques and several existing imbalanced SVM-based techniques.
While the utility of the number line is considerable, articulating its conceptual foundation is often neglected in school mathematics. We suggest that it is important to build up strong conceptual foundations in the earlier grades so that number lines can be used in a more meaningful way and that any misconceptions associated with the number line can be prevented or intervened. This paper addresses unit, direction, and origin as the key elements of number lines and presents activities from Davydov's curriculum for early grades that promote exploration of those key elements and may resolve some students' misconceptions. As shown in sample activities from Davydov's curriculum, this paper suggests that students can broaden their perspectives on the number line and use it versatilely in various areas of mathematics learning when they deeply engage in the construction of a number line and have flexibility in interpreting the relationships between key number line elements.
Follicular fluid has pivotal effects on attraction and motility of spermatozoa for successful fertilization. The effect of samples of human follicu1ar fluid(hFF) on attraction and motility of spermatozoa was investigated. Capillary tubes loaded with one of these samples, hFF sample A collected from patients with tubal factor, hFF sample B collected from patients with male factor, m-HTF and heated hFF sample were used for assessment of attraction and motility of spermatozoa following culture of 1, 2, and 4 hrs. Number and motile rate of spermatozoa in the tubes loaded with hFF sample A were significantly(P<0.05) higher than those of m-HTF, hFF sample B and heated hFF. Although the fresh hFF tended to increase the attraction of spermatozoa as compared to inactivated hFF, there was no significant difference between treatments.
Shannon and Simpson indexes are used for species diversity analysis of ecosystem. In species diversity analysis of ecosystem, not only frequency of each species but also survey size have to be considered. In this study, total information composed with knowledge and ignorance was suggested as a species diversity analysis method for ecosystem survey. To apply developed method, flora in the Sangachun river valley was sampled with 19 sites and 198 species. In applying results, Shannon index shows more reasonable results than Simpson index by the variance of sample size but has difficulties of determining the relation of surveying species number and sample site number. Suggested total information can overcome this difficulty by the relation of knowledge and ignorance.

Companies strive for quality improvement and use process data obtained through measurement process to monitor and control the process. Measurement data contain variation due to error of operator and instrument. The total variation is sum of product variation and measurement variation. Gage R&R is for repeatability and reproducibility of measurement system. Gage R&R study is usually conducted to analyze the measurement process. In performing the gage R&R study, several parameters such as the appropriate number of operators (o), sample size of parts (p), and replicate (r) are used. In this paper we propose how to determine the optimal combination of number of operators (o), sample size of parts (p), and replicates (r) considering measurement time and cost by statistical method.
Financial ratio indicators of the 46 sample hospitals provided by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, together with the survey data responded by the 57 sample hospitals, were analysed to identify the characteristics of the red-figured hospitals' financial structure, financial operational efficiency and management decision-making behavior, The financial characteristics identified through the analysis include high dependency to liabilities, high salary expenses and overhead costs, low profitability of the unduly large amount of fixed assets, and low managerial efficieny of inventory. The hospitals, in face of the IMF economic impasse, took the necessary decision-making and counter measures to cut down salary expenses, to increase the number of patient and medical revenue, and to reduce investment to fixed assets. Based on these findings this study suggested that the hospitals should take more active cost containment measures, financial structural reorganization, and developoment of the strategies that can contribute to increase of the number of patient and medical revenue and that do not. require much capital funds.
