Background : This article presents long-term outcomes after correcting secondary bilateral cleft lip nasal deformities using a refined reverse-U incision and V-Y plasty or in combination with a composite graft in order to elongate the short columella. Methods : A total of forty-six patients underwent surgery between September 1996 and December 2008. The age of the patients ranged from 3 to 19 years of age. A bilateral reverse-U incision and V-Y plasty were used in 24 patients. A composite graft from the helical root was combined with a bilateral reverse-U incision in the 22 patients who possessed a severely shortened columella. The follow-up period ranged between 2 and 10 years. Results : A total of 32 patients out of 46 were evaluated postoperatively. The average columella length was significantly improved from an average of 3.7 mm preoperatively to 8.5 mm postoperatively. The average ratio of the columella height to the alar base width was 0.18 preoperatively and 0.29 postoperatively. The postoperative basal and lateral views revealed a better shape of the nostrils and columella. The elongated columella, combined with a composite graft, presented good maintenance of the corrected position with no growth disturbance. A composite graft showed color mismatching in several patients. Twenty-six patients demonstrated no alar-columella web deformity and satisfactory symmetry of the nostrils. Four patients experienced a drooping and overhanging of the corrected alar-columella web. Conclusions : A bilateral reverse-U incision with V-Y plasty or in combination with a composite graft was effective in correcting secondary bilateral cleft lip nasal deformity.

BangPungTongSung-San is usually perscribed in Hyungsang medicine for those of Yangmyung type, Pung type, those who have inner fever as well as redness of the tip of the nose, and for those with the external shape who tend to have dandruff. Following conclusions were obtained from the treatment of 8 patients suffering from inflammatory dermatitis. The causes of inflammatory dermatitis are mainly wind-fever, poisonous fever of the Samcho, dry-fever, and congenital conditions. The inflammatory dermatitis usually occurre to people who belong to Yangmyung types having vigorous Yangmyung meridian and body heat. Some patients who did not belong to the Yangmyung type were either those with much body heat or having congenital conditions inherited from their parents. There was no difference in the frequency of disease between men and women. The disease occurred at the times bodily conditions were weak or significant physiological changes took place. The term for the treatment required at least 3 months. Three more months are considered to be needed in treatment even after the completion of the remedy observing the return of the disease. The inflammatory dermatitis is easily occurred and recurred to those who belong to Yangmyung type and therefore the best prevention would be appropriate diet and bodily manner in daily life.

The avatar can be used as an auxiliary methodology of text and image communications in cyber space. An intelligent communication method can also be utilized to achieve real-time communication, where intelligently coded data (joint angles for arm gestures and action units for facial emotions) are transmitted instead of real or compressed pictures. In this paper. for supporting the action of arm and leg gestures, a method of generating the facial expressions that can represent sender's emotions is provided. The facial expression can be represented by Action Unit(AU), in this paper we suggest the methodology of finding appropriate AUs in avatar models that have various shape and structure. And, to maximize the efficiency of emotional expressions, a comic-style facial model having only eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth is employed. Then generation of facial emotion animation with the parameters is also investigated.

Image warping is a technology to transform input images to be suitable for given conditions and has been recently utilized in changing face shape of characters in the field of movies or animation. Mesh warping which is one of warping methods that change shapes based on the features of face forms warping images by forming rectangular mesh groups around the eyes, nose, and mouth and matching them 1:1. This method has a problem in the resultant images are distorted in the segments of boundaries between meshes when there are errors in mesh control points or when meshes have been formed as many small area meshes. This study proposes a triangle based image interpolation technique to minimize the occurrence of errors in the process of forming natural warping images of face and process accurate results with a small amount of arithmetic operation and a short time. First, feature points that represent the face are found and these points are connected to form basic triangle meshes. The fact that the proposed method can reduce errors occurring in the process of warping while reducing the amount of arithmetic operation and time is shown through experiments.

Purpose: Torus palatinus is a bony prominence at the middle of the hard palate. The size varies from barely discernible to very large, from flat to lobular. This oral exostosis is not a disease or a sign of disease, but if large, may be a problem. So, we present the clinical and histopathologic features and applied therapy and provide a comprehensive review of the rare case of the symptomatic exostoses. Methods: A 37-year-old woman had slowly growing exophytic nodular mass of the bone that arises the midline suture of the hard palate. The patient was concerned about discomfort associated with movement of her tongue and about frequent irritation of the palatal mucosa during mastification of the hard food. The patient had a large, unilobulated torus palatinus. It extended from the area adjacent to the canine to a point beyond the junction with the soft palate. The mass was oblong in shape, measuring about 3 cm long, 2 cm wide, and 0.8 cm in height. Results: Before surgical intervention a CT was obtained for the sake of estimating the thickness of the bone between the exostoses and the maxillary antrum and floor of the nose. The surgical procedure was performed with the patient under general anesthesia. Removal of the exostosis was performed after midline mucoperiosteal incision with osteotome and diamond burr. Histologic finding revealed decalcified dense bony tissue, the presence of lacunae, and normal osteocytes. Conclusion: Surgical removal is recommended when one or more of the following condition exist: interference with the construction of prosthesis, interference with oral function, irritation or pathology of the overlying tissue, inability of the patient to maintain proper oral hygiene, and fear of malignancy or other psychologic trauma. We report a rare case of the torus arising in hard palate with symptoms.

Following conclusions are drawn from study about Yukmigiwhangwon through referring to literatures and reviewing in the point of Hyungsang medicine. Yukmigiwhangwon was prescribed by Jeon Eul in order to cure five kinds of flaccidity of infants, but after since then it has been basically applied to symptoms which was caused by deficiency of the kidney not only infants but also adult. The deficiency of kidney is the lack of vital essence and body fluid stored in kidney, it happens because infants are born in the conditions of lack of receiving in the womb. And it happens because adults infringe the rules of life, especially the sexual life. Main symptoms of the poverty of renal functions are emptiness of the brain marrow, dizziness, forgetfulness, tinnitus, deafness, vertigo and dim eyesight, insomnia, the low back and knees aching and limping, heat on the legs, tibia aching, nocturnal emission, dry mouth, reddened tongue and little coating or non coating of the 'tongue, weak blood meridians. the treating method is nourishing Eum and supplementing kidney. In Dongeuibogam Yukmigiwhangwon is mentioned in the parts of vital essence, blood, voice, kidney, urine, eye, ear, the low back, hair, fire, exhaustion syndrome, cough, polydipsia, infant, etc. The shapes which Yukmigiwhangwon is applied to are the Dam Body Doing deficiency of Eum due to excess of Yang, man, infant, Jung type, Fish group, reverse triangular shape, big headed man, big eared man, big mouthed man, man having prominent cheekbones, man having long waist, man having big hips, man with thick hair or white hair, man with bald on the head, etc. In color it is applied to darkish complexion, flushed tip of the nose, or flushed cheek bones. Through inquiring into the clinical cases on the points of Hyungsang medicine Yukmigiwhangwon is efficacious cure to lumbago, symptoms of tendons and bones, symptoms of eyes and ears, symptoms of respiratory organs, dermatopathia, headache, polydipsia, urinary disorders, etc.

In this paper, the effect of different steel bar configurations on the quasi-static punching and impact response of concrete slabs was studied. A total of forty RC square slab specimens were cast in two groups of concrete strengths of 40 and 63 MPa. In each group of twenty specimens, ten specimens were reinforced at the back face (singly reinforced), and the remaining specimens were reinforced on both faces of the slab (doubly reinforced). Two rebar spacing of 25 and 100 mm, with constant reinforcement ratio and effective depth, were used in both singly and doubly reinforced slab specimens. The specimens were tested against the normal impact of cylindrical projectiles of hemispherical nose shape. Slabs were also quasi-statically tested in punching using the same projectile, which was employed for the impact testing. The experimental response illustrates that 25 mm spaced rebars are effective in (i) decreasing the local damage and overall penetration depth, (ii) increasing the absorption of impact energy, and (iii) enhancing the ballistic limit of RC slabs. The ballistic limit was predicted using the quasi-static punching test results of slab specimens showing a strong correlation between the dynamic perforation energy and the energy required for quasi-static perforation of slabs.

When high carbon steel is heated in an appropriate austenizing temperature range and subjected to austempering, the size and shape of lamellar structure can be controlled. The high carbon steel sheet having the pearlite structure has excellent elastic characteristics because it has strong restoring force when properly rolled, and is applied in a process known as patenting-process using lead bath. In the case of isothermal treatment using lead-medium, it is possible to quickly reach a uniform temperature due to high heat transfer characteristics, but it is difficult to replace it with process technology that requires treatment to remove harmfulness lead. In this study, we intend to develop fluidization technology using garnet powder to replace the lead medium. After heating the high-carbon steel, the cooling rate was changed by compressed air to the vicinity of the nose of the continuous cooling curve, and then maintained for 90 s and then exposed to room temperature. The microstructure of the treated specimens were analyzed and compared with the existing products treated with lead bath. The higher the flow rate of compressed air, the faster the cooling rate to the pearlite transformation temperature, so lamellar spacing decreases and the hardness tends to increase.

The face shape extracted by the depth values has different appearance as the most important facial feature information and the face images decomposed into frequency subband are signified personal features in detail. In this paper, we develop a method for recognizing the range face images by combining the multiple frequency domains for each depth image and depth fusion using fuzzy integral. For the proposed approach, the first step tries to find the nose tip that has a protrusion shape on the face from the extracted face area. It is used as the reference point to normalize for orientated facial pose and extract multiple areas by the depth threshold values. In the second step, we adopt as features for the authentication problem the wavelet coefficient extracted from some wavelet subband to use feature information. The third step of approach concerns the application of eigenface and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) method to reduce the dimension and classify. In the last step, the aggregation of the individual classifiers using the fuzzy integral is explained for extracted coefficient at each resolution level. In the experimental results, using the depth threshold value 60 (DT60) show the highest recognition rate among the regions, and the depth fusion method achieves 98.6% recognition rate, incase of fuzzy integral.

Human body could be distinguished as fresh and spirit. Body has the meaning of physicality. Physical means the bodily and constitution, but in the meaning of constitution there is the content of spirituality. Physicality means the appearing or arising of trace or image or nuance of body. The paintings which are using bodies are 1) directly draw bodies 2) twisting or transformation or nuance of the body and highly upgrade the physical emotion or fantastic bodily nuance 3) directly rubbing artist's body on the surface of painting with pigments to elect tactile specification. These physical art have appeared broadly by various artists, mainly with the social aspects of sex, drug, psycho sexual issues. In case of Joel peter Whitkin, the reason of strong physicality in the art is from the mind of the rejection and resistance of real world which is targeting top, perfect and beauty. Further explanation, being the world which is separated top and under, men and women, beauty and ugly; further in the situation, the hierarchy, terror and pressure began and many difficult problems has derived. The contents of attacking feminists's art works are very obscene to reveal female and male's phallus strongly. Sometime, it is strongly related in the political issues. The physical paintings have strong meanings in the action by hands and feet. It supports that it could reveal the humanity with smell, breath, and traces of bodies. In the bodies, the origin of life begins which gives human life by blood lines and water. Sometime, the physical paintings are made by the blood and urine to stick the physicality for special nuance. The physical paintings are made by the image of penis and clitoris which are related in the image of urinating, ejaculation and sometime is symbolized as pens and candles to drop liquid. The selected painters who are related in physical painting are Jackson Pollock, Andrea Serano, Eve Klein, Francis Bacon, Francesco Clemente, Lichard Long, Jakes & Dinos Chapman, Anselm Kiefer, Kiki Smith and Park, Ki Woong. Francis Bacon's style is destructive in representing human shapes which give us special message about the unbearable activity of men politician, high brain, wealthy and religious people. Francesco Clemente's method is to use throat, ear hole, mouse, clitoris, belly nostrils and every holes of body to transmute human physical body. Lichard Long uses directly his body in drawing the surface of painting by using liquid of mud Jakes & Dinos Chapman destroys or transforms the bodies of human. It sometime appears wrong location of the bodies that the penis and vulva is in between human faces or nose of women, Anselm Kiefer uses human hair for representing the human decaying martyrs, and indirectly using straw, he gives special ritual action to repent the Nazi's fault. From 2002 to 2003, Park KI Woong used women womb images to intermingle the smoke shape of <9.11 terror, 2001> in New York to reveal the painful situation of the time(*).
