Characteristic of wireless power transmission S-Parameter for a superconductor coil

  • Many studies are being conducted to implement wireless charging, for example, for cellular phones or electronic tooth brushes, via wireless power transmission technique. However, the magnetic induction method had a very short transmission distance. To solve this problem, the team of Professor Marin Soljacic proposed a magnetic resonance system that used two resonance coils with the same resonance frequency. It had an approximately 40% efficiency at a 2m distance. The system improved the low efficiency and short distance problems of the existing systems. So it could also widen the application range of wireless power transmission. Many studies on the subject are underway. In this paper, the superconductor coil was used to improve the efficiency of magnetic resonance wireless power transmission. The resonance wireless power transmission system had a source coil, a load coil, and resonance coils (a transmitter and a receiver). The efficiency and distance depended on the characteristics of the transmitter and receiver coils that had the same resonance frequency. Therefore, two resonance coils were fabricated by superconductors. The current density of the superconductor was higher than that of the normal conductor coil. Accordingly, it had a high quality-factor and improved efficiency.

차폐 재질에 따른 무선전력전송 특성 분석 (Analysis of WPT Characteristics by Shielding Materials)

  • In this paper, the shield plate was applied to the wireless power transfer (WPT) system. Then we compared transmission efficiency of WPT system between transmitter and receiver coils. The superconductor coil was applied to transmitter and receiver coils in order to increase the transmission efficiency of WPT. The superconductor coil was more effective to power transmission as its current density was higher than normal conductor coil. Efficiency of WPT between transmitter and receiver coils was changed by a quality of shielding. We used the shielding materials such as glass, iron, steels, aluminum etc. The efficiency of WPT system was depended on the shielding materials of transmitter and receiver coils. As a result, magnetic material such as aluminum, iron reduced the magnetic flux density and the efficiency of WPT. remarkably, but in non-magnetic material such as glass and plastic, the efficiency of WPT was unaffected.

  • During normal machine operation, partial discharge(PD) measurements were performed with turbine generator analyzer(TGA) in two high voltage motors. Two 6.6kV motors were installed with 80pF capacitive couplers at the terminal box. The PD patterns were displayed two dimensional and three dimensional. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantifies such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). Off-line PD measurements were conducted on one 4.16kV motor. The motor was energized to 2.4kV, 3.0kV, 3.5kV and 4.16kV, respectively. The PD levels in pC were measured with a conventional digital PD detector. The comparison of positive to negative PD indicates whether the defect elements of PD are within the insulation or on the insulation surface. Discharge at conductor surface was discovered in No. 1 motor. Internal discharges were generated in phase A, B and C of No. 2 motor, Slot discharges occurred in three phases of No. 3 motor.

  • Partial discharge(PD) tests are used to evaluate the insulation condition of stator windings in two 4.16kV and three 6.6kV motors. These tests were conducted using a conventional partial discharge detector(PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA). Off-line PD measurements were performed on five high voltage motors. PD magnitudes ranged from 1000 pC to 5400 pC at the normal line-to-ground voltage. Five high voltage motors have been equipped with 80pF epoxy-mica coupler on the motor terminal box. The PD pulse from sensors were measured with the TGA instrument. TGA summarizes each plot with two Quantities such as the peak PD magnitude(Qm) and the total PD activity(NQN). The defect mechanisms of high voltage motor can be associated with PD patterns such as internal, slot and conductor surface discharges. The PDD and TGA test results of No. 4 motor showed that internal discharge was detected in voids of the groundwall insulation.

  • A superconducting synchronous motor has different electromagnetic structure from the conventional machine. With the help of superconductor having much higher operating current density than normal conductor, superconducting motor can eliminate most of iron core filled inside of the conventional machine. This air-cored structure could be analysed and designed theoretically based on 2-dimensional(2-D) magnetic field distribution assuming that the windings are extended infinitely toward the axial direction. However, the actual structure of superconducting motor has the end regions interconnecting the straight parts of the same cross-section with the 2-D model. Therefore, this actual 3-D model has smaller field distribution than the 2-D model. In this paper, we consider the effect of the end regions on the output of a HTS model motor and suggest more accurate design approach through comparison of 2-D and 3-D magnetic field analysis results.

열열화된 PVC 케이블의 부분방전 진단 (Partial Discharge Diagnosis of Thermal Degradated PVC Cable)

  • In this thesis, the partial discharge according to applied voltage and variations of cross-sectional area and length of the conductor related to general condition for using cable was measured in order to study degradation diagnosis for 2-Core cable of the PVC insulator used in industrial fields for other safety installations. Also the thermal degradation conditions under various installation circumstances of cables were studied by assuming degradation conditions with each different degradation rate (50%, 67%, 100%) such as variation in degradated temperature, thermal exposure time, normal state, partially degradated state and overall degradated state for thermal degradation diagnosis. The quantity of electric discharge (V-Q) according to applied voltage was measured for measurement of inception voltage and extinction voltage. The quantity of electric discharge and the number of electric discharge (Q-N) were measured with applied voltage kept constantly. In addition, pictures were taken using SEM (scanning electron microscope) to compare the surface of external insulator to degradated state of internal insulator according to thermal degradation temperature and also compare the surface of external insulator to degradated surface state of internal insulator according exposure time of cables to thermal stress.

ITO와 ZnO:Al 투명전도막의 전기적 특성 및 PDP 셀의 휘도 특성 (Electrical Properties of ITO and ZnO:Al Thin Films and Brightness Characteristics of PDP Cell with ITO and ZnO:Al Transparent Electrodes)

  • 각 종 전자 디바이스의 투명전도막으로 많이 사용되는 ITO 및 ZnO:Al 박막을 스퍼터링법에 의해 제작하였다. 가스압력 및 기판온도 등의 최적조건하에서 제작된 ITO 및 ZnO:Al 박막은 각각 $1.67{\times}10^{-3}[{\Omega}-cm]$$2.2{\times}10^{-3}[{\Omega}-cm]$의 비저항율과 89.61[%] 및 90.88[%]의 가시광 영역에서의 광투과율을 나타내었다. ZnO:Al과 ITO 투명전극을 이용하여 5인치의 PDP 셀을 동일한 제조조건하에서 제작하였다. ZnO:Al의 경우 Ne(base)-Xe(8%)의 가스 혼합비, 그리고 400[Torr]의 압력조건에서 가장 잘 동작되었으며, $200{\sim}300$[V]의 인가전압 범위에서 $836[cd/m^2]$의 평균휘도를 나타내었다. 고휘도 및 저 소비전력특성을 위한 중요한 파라메타인 광효율은 전원 주파수가 $10{\sim}50[Khz]$의 범위에서 $1.2{\sim}1.6[lm/W]$정도를 나타내었으며, ITO의 경우 휘도 및 광 발생 효율은 약 10[%]정도 상승하였다.

백서 연조직에 저수준 레이저 요법시 창상 치유기전에 관한 연구 (EFFECT OF LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY ON HEALING OF OPEN SKIN WOUNDS IN RATS)

  • This research was focused on overall examination of tissue alteration, wound healing promotion. After the hair on the dorsal surface was shaved, $5{\times}5mm$ oval skin defect was formed. Experimental wounds of right side were irradiated on every day for 90 second with Ga-Al-As semi-conductor laser. Left side wounds served as control group. The rats were sacrificed on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 14th, 21th day. For light microscopically, parafin section were stained with H&E, MT. The outcomes were as follows : 1. On 1st day, experimental and control group were seen acute inflammatory cell infiltration, edema. 2. On the 3rd days, both groups were seen crust development, collagen, blood vessel proliferation. 3. On the 5th days, experimental group were reduced edema and inflammatory cell infiltration than control group. 4. On the 7th days, both groups were observed edema, inflammatory cell infiltration disappearance and keratinocytes motility from wound defect. 5. On the 14th days, experimental group appeared collagen, blood vessel proliferation and hair follicle than control group. 6. On the 21th days, both groups were seen normal status re-epithelization. According to the above results, The wound-healing stimulated by laser radiation involves an increased rate of epithelial growth. LLLT was confirmed that it has fibroblast, blood vessel proliferation, influence initial wound healing process.

잉크젯 프린팅된 Cu 박막의 응력해소를 통한 전기적 특성 개선 (The Improvement of Electrical Characteristics of Inkjet-printed Cu films with Stress Relaxation during Thermal Treatment)

  • 미래형 유연소자 개발 시 비용감소 및 공정적합성 개선을 위해 동박을 잉크젯 프린팅법을 이용해 공중합체 유연기판 상 형성하고, 전기적 특성에 열처리 분위기가 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 3 종류의 환원분위기에서 열처리를 진행하여 보았다. 그 결과 200도의 낮은 온도에서 환원 특성이 뛰어난 포름산 분위기에서 전도체 수준의 비저항은 얻을 수 있었으나, 열처리 시 발생하는 응력으로 인해 발생된 표면균열에 기인해 그 값이 기존 동박에 비해 매우 높았다. 이에 비정질재료에서 응용되는 응력해소법을 응용하여 표면균열을 억제한 결과 230도 열처리 시 기존 열처리 방법에서는 $7.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$의 비저항을 보이나, 응력해소를 통한 표면 균열이 억제된 시편에서는 $3.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$의 비저항 값을 얻을 수 있었다. 특히 등온열처리에 의한 응력해소 효과를 확인하기 위해 동일 온도에서 등온시간 없이 열처리를 진행한 결과, 표면균열이 억제되지 못함을 확인할 수 있었다.

전파를 이용한 도체 Scale 분석에 Regression Progress 기법 이용 연구 (Regression Progress to Evaluate Metal Scale Thickness using Microwave)

  • 본 논문은 열연 공정을 거친 철강 강판에 형성된 산화철 층, 즉 scale 층의 두께를 유전체 렌즈 안테나를 이용하여 측정하는 방법을 소개하였다. 유전체 렌즈 안테나는 X 밴드 대역에서 주파수에 독립적인 특성을 가지며, 혼 안테나에서 방사되는 구면파를 초점이 형성되는 평면에 평면파를 형성하는 역할을 한다. 이러한 동작원리를 이용하여 철강 강판에 형성된 scale 층에 완전 도체와 유전체로 형성된 two-layer 구조에 직각 입사하는 평면파의 이론적 해석이 적용될 수 있다. Scale의 두께를 도출해 내는 과정에서 유전체 렌즈의 영향을 최소화하기 위한 calibration 과정이 삽입되었으며, 이로 인한 반사 계수 위상의 오차가 발생하였다. 이러한 위상 오차에 의한 scale 두께의 오차를 줄이기 위하여, 수치적으로 regression 방법을 사용하였으며, 기존의 iteration 방법과 비교하여, 주기적으로 얻어지는 두께의 값이 아닌 단일 두께 값을 얻어낼 수 있었다.
