비선형 점탄성 부싱모델에 대한 주파수와 변위의 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Affection of Frequency and Displacement for Nonlinear Viscoelastic Bushing Model)

  • 부싱은 차체로 전달되는 하중을 줄여주는 역할을 하는 자동차 현가장치의 부품으로 바깥쪽 슬리브와 안쪽의 축 사이에서 가운데가 비어있는 실린더의 형상을 가진다. 축에 작용되는 하중과 부싱의 상대 변위는 비선형 점탄성 성질을 나타내며, 부싱에서 힘과 변위의 관계는 다물체 동역학 시뮬레이션에 중요하다. 비선형 점탄성 축방향모드에 대하여 힘과 변위와의 직접관계식인 ??킨-라저스 모델을 리아니스 모델로부터 유도하였으며, 사인함수의 변위를 ??킨-라저스 모델에 적용하여 주파수와 변위의 변화가 비선형 점탄성 부싱 모델에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보았다.

A Study of a Nonlinear Viscoelastic Model for Elastomeric Bushing in Radial Mode

  • An elastomeric bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. The relation between the load applied to the shaft or sleeve and the relative displacement of elastomeric bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. A load-displacement relation for elastomeric bushing is important fur dynamic numerical simulations. A boundary value problem fur the bushing response leads to the load-displacement relation, which requires complex calculations. Therefore, by modifying the constitutive equation for a nonlinear viscoelastic incompressible material developed by Lianis, the data for the elastomeric bushing material was obtained and this data was used to derive the new load-displacement relation for radial response of the bushing. After the load relaxation function for the bushing was obtained from the step displacement control test, Pipkin-Rogers model was developed. Solutions were allowed for comparison between the results of the modified Lianis model and those of the proposed model. It was shown that the proposed Pipkin-Rogers model was in very good agreement with the modified Lianis model.

Non-stationary vibration and super-harmonic resonances of nonlinear viscoelastic nano-resonators

  • This paper analyzes the non-stationary vibration and super-harmonic resonances in nonlinear dynamic motion of viscoelastic nano-resonators. For this purpose, a new coupled size-dependent model is developed for a plate-shape nano-resonator made of nonlinear viscoelastic material based on modified coupled stress theory. The virtual work induced by viscous forces obtained in the framework of the Leaderman integral for the size-independent and size-dependent stress tensors. With incorporating the size-dependent potential energy, kinetic energy, and an external excitation force work based on Hamilton's principle, the viscous work equation is balanced. The resulting size-dependent viscoelastically coupled equations are solved using the expansion theory, Galerkin method and the fourth-order Runge-Kutta technique. The Hilbert-Huang transform is performed to examine the effects of the viscoelastic parameter and initial excitation values on the nanosystem free vibration. Furthermore, the secondary resonance due to the super-harmonic motions are examined in the form of frequency response, force response, Poincare map, phase portrait and fast Fourier transforms. The results show that the vibration of viscoelastic nanosystem is non-stationary at higher excitation values unlike the elastic ones. In addition, ignoring the small-size effects shifts the secondary resonance, significantly.

시스템 규명을 통한 외팔 송수관의 비선형 동적 거동 해석 (Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of a Cantilever Tube Conveying Fluid with System Identification)

  • The vibration of a flexible cantilever tube with nonlinear constraints when it is subjected to flow internally with fluids is examined by experiment and theoretical analysis. These kind of studies have often been performed that finds the existence of chaotic motion. In this paper, the important parameters of the system leading to such a chaotic motion such as Young's modulus and coefficient of viscoelasticity in tube material are discussed. The parameters are investigated by means of a system identification so that comparisons are made between numerical analysis using the parameters of a handbook and the experimental results. The chaotic region led by several period-doubling bifurcations beyond the Hopf bifurcation is also re-established with phase portraits and bifurcation diagram so that one can define optimal parameters for system design.

자동차 부싱에 대한 Pipkin-Rogers 모델의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Pipkin-Rogers Model for Automotive Bushing)

  • An automotive bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is a hollow cylinder, which is bonded to a solid steel shaft at its inner surface and a steel sleeve at its outer surface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft and the relative deformation of a bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. In this paper, an automotive bushing is regarded as nonlinear viscoelastic incompressible material. Instron 8801 equipment was used for experimental res earch and ramp-to-constant displacement control test was used for data acquisition. Displacement dependent force relaxation function was obtained from the force extrapolation method and expressed as the explicit combination of time and displacement. Pipkin-Rogers model, which is the direct relation of force and displacement, was obtained and comparison studies between the experimental results and the Pipkin-Rogers results were carried out.

  • An elastomeric bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to cushion the force transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is an elastomeric hollow cylinder which is bonded to a solid metal shaft at its inner surface and a metal sleeve at its outer suface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft or sleeve and their relative deformation is nolinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. Numerical solutions of the boundary value problem represent the exact bushing response for use in the method for determining the force relaxation function of the bushing. The new nonlinear viscoelastic bushing model, which is called Pipkin-Rogers model, is proposed and it is shown that the predictions of the proposed force-displacement relation are in very good agreement with the exact results. This new bushing model is thus very suitable for use in multi-body dynamics codes. The success of the present study for axial mode response suggests that the same approach be applied to other modes, such as torsional or radial modes.

  • 자동차 부싱은 차체로 전달되는 하중을 줄여주는 역할을 하는 자동차 현가장치의 주요 부품으로 바깥쪽 슬리브와 안쪽의 축 사이에서 가운데가 비어있는 실린더의 형상을 가진다. 차축에 작용되는 하중과 부싱의 상대 변위는 비선형 점탄성 성질을 나타내며, 부싱에서 힘과 변위의 관계는 다물체 동역학 시뮬레이션에 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 실험을 바탕으로 하여, 자동차 부싱에 대한 힘과 변위의 비선형 점탄성 관계를 변위에 의존하는 힘 완화함수로 표현하여 이를 유도하는 방법을 개발하였으며, 완성된 비선형 점탄성 부싱 모델은 ??킨-라저스 모델로 명명하여 실험값과 비교하여 검증하였다.

  • 고체추진제 내부의 균열은 연소면적을 증가시키기 때문에 과연소를 발생시키며 로켓의 기능을 상실하거나 파손되는 문제로 이어질 수 있다. 따라서 고체추진제의 설계에서 균열진전에 대한 저항력인 파괴인성의 평가가 요구된다. 하지만 고체추진제의 특성상 복잡하고 심한 비선형 거동을 나타내기 때문에 파괴인성을 측정하는 데에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 고체추진제를 선형점탄성 재료로 가정하여 파괴인성을 평가하였다. CCT(Center-cracked Tension) 시험편을 이용한 파괴인성시험을 수행하였으며 점탄성재료에서 나타나는 응력완화현상을 이용한 가상탄성변위를 계산하여 ASTM E399 규격을 통해 파괴인성을 평가하였다. 또한 파괴인성에 대한 시험온도, 시험 속도의 영향에 대한 결과를 고찰하였다.

  • 본 리뷰 논문에서는 일반 접촉 역학 이론과 더불어 유기탄성체 마찰에 관한 이론 및 배경을 소개한다. 특히 Greenwood & Williamson 접촉 역학 이론을 확장하여 거친 표면을 자기-아핀(self-affine) 특성으로 고려한 접촉 역학 및 마찰의 수학적 모델을 제시한 Klüppel & Heinrich 이론을 중심으로 유기탄성체 복합재료의 마찰 거동에 대해 살펴본다. 자기-아핀 특성에 의한 노면의 멀티스케일 거칠기로 인해 미끄러짐 마찰 시 유기탄성체 복합재료는 다양한 주파수에 따른 동적 변형이 가해지며 이때 재료가 나타내는 점탄성이 마찰 거동에 주요한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 유기탄성체 복합재료의 비선형 점탄성을 고려하여 광범위한 주파수 영역에서의 점탄성 거동인 마스터커브를 구축하는 원리 및 방법을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 유기탄성체 복합재료 마찰 이론을 타이어 트레드 컴파운드와 노면 간의 마찰에 응용한 실험적 결과와 그 물리적 의미를 이론과 접목하여 설명하였다.

Comparison of interpretation methods for large amplitude oscillatory shear response

  • We compare FT (Fourier Transform) and SD (Stress Decomposition), the interpretation methods for LAOS (Large Amplitude Oscillatory Shear). Although the two methods are equivalent in mathematics. they are significantly different in numerical procedures. Precision of FT greatly depends on sampling rate and length of data because FT of experimental data is the discrete version of Fourier integral theorem. FT inevitably involves unnecessary frequencies which must not appear in LAOS. On the other hand, SD is free from the problems from which FT suffers, because SD involves only odd harmonics of primary frequency. SD is based on two axioms on shear stress: [1] shear stress is a sufficiently smooth function of strain and its time derivatives; [2] shear stress satisfies macroscopic time-reversal symmetry. In this paper, we compared numerical aspects of the two interpretation methods for LAOS.
