It is well known that there is an adverse effect of long-term cigarette smoking on pulmonary function. Therefor we attempted to consider the vital capacity for position changes in a smokers and non-smokers. The pulmonary functions on sitting and supine positions were measured in 28 young healthy students fer the change of vital capacity. Forced expiratory flow-volume curve were performed sitting position and supine position and smoking. The results were summarized as follows; 1) The spirometric values(VC, FVC, FEV$_{1}$) were progressively decreased from sitting position to 30minutes after supine position in a non-smoking group(p<.05). 2) The VC, FVC. FEV$_{1}$, FEF25 ${\sim}$ 75% were decreased from sitting position to 30minutes after supine position in a smoking group(p< .01). The PEF and FEF25% were decreased from supine position to after smoking(p< .05). 3) non-smoking group and smoking group not showed significant change(p> .05). But the spirometric values were more decreased nonsmokers than smokers.
This study aimed to provide fundamental data that could guide high school students' night eating behavior by investigating habits of their night eating consumption during COVID-19 pandemic (From 2021/5/13 to 5/20). Association between their eating habits and the Nutrition Quotient for Korean Adolescents (NQ-A) were also explored. This study included a total of 604 students, among whom 441 students were identified as night eating consumers. Among all subjects, 30.5% consumed night eating 3~4 times a week, 27.3% consumed 1-2 times a week, and 27.0% did not consume any night eating at all. The high-night eating group had a higher score of total NQ-A than the non-night eating group for both male (p<0.05) and female (p<0.001) students. This was because male students in the high-night eating group reported significantly higher rates of daily dinner consumption compared to non-night eating group. Furthermore, both male (p<0.05) and female (p<0.001) students showed a significant increase in 'Moderation'. 'Diversity' was also significantly increased in female studies (p<0.05) as subcategories of dietary habits according to night eating frequency. These findings highlight the need for practical research to develop nutritional guidelines for night eating that reflect preferences of students while providing adequate nutritional habits.
Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the papers on nursing in the KJHSM (Korean Journal of Health Service Management) (2007-2018), to identify the research trends and to help the future development of nursing research. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in foot type of female college students according to academic major in both feet. The subjects for this study were 216 female students who took liberal arts classes in Seoul. Dependent variables were students' field of study -specifically whether or not they majored in physical education. Analysis of students' foot type and Malalignment Syndrome were measured using Resting Calcaneous Stance Position (RCSP). There were five categories for RCSP angle: Severe Pes Planus (< $-5^{\circ}$), Pes Planus ($-3^{\circ}{\sim}-4^{\circ}$), Pes Rectus (${\pm}2^{\circ}$), Pes Cavus ($+3^{\circ}{\sim}+4^{\circ}$), Severe Pes Cavus (> $+5^{\circ}$). ${\chi}^2$ analysis was used for statistical analysis. RCSP for all subjects (432 feet) occurred at the following frequency: Pes Planus(43.9%), Pes Rectus(43.8%), and Pes Cavus(12.3%). These levels were different for physical education majors, with Pes Planus at 42.6%, Pes Rectus at 49.4%, and Pes Cavusat 8.0%. Non-physical education majors exhibited Pes Planus at 45.0%, Pes Rectus at 39.9%, and Pes Cavus at 15.1%. 15.3% (33 subjects) of all students had Malalignment Syndrome. In conclusion, 56.2% of female college students had a foot deformity. There was nearly four times more Pes Planus than Pes Cavus. According to these results, exercise can be prescribed to alleviate foot deformities, especially supination. Severe pronation and supination problems appeared less amongst students not majoring in physical education. Thus, although exercise might be one cause of foot deformity, it can also help resolve problems with over-supination. Further study will be needed to understand and resolve the specific mechanism of over-supination.
