국내 신문 인쇄의 색재현 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Color Reproduction Properties of Domestic Newspaper Prints)

  • Web offset newspaper prints is the most widely used printing process in domestic printing industry, but there are no industry-wide specifications for press control to assure consistent quality across newspaper printing plants. As newspaper printing becomes more of a commodity and less of an art, it is necessary to develop the print quality specification standard suitable for Korea web offset newspaper printing field. There are a few commonly employed printing standards such as, SNAP (Specification for Non-Heatset Publication) of the US, IFRA(INCA-FIEJ Research Association), J-color (Japan printing machinery association). And there exists KS for domestic standards, however, since it has been directly imported from ISO standards, there are discrepancies in printing materials and media. This paper aims to examine the color reproduction quality of domestic web offset newspaper prints by comparing with foreign standards. Printing experiments on this study have been performed at one of the domestic newspaper printing companies. The color reproduction properties of the web offset newspaper prints are measured by means of densitometry and colorimetry. These measures are evaluated comapratively with the international standards by means of analyzing, the major factors that determine the color reproduction quality of web offset newspaper prints.

멀티레벨 홀로그래픽 저장장치를 위한 적응 EM 알고리즘 (Adaptive Threshold Detection Using Expectation-Maximization Algorithm for Multi-Level Holographic Data Storage)

  • 본 논문은 멀티레벨을 가지는 홀로그래픽 저장 장치에서 EM (Expectation-maximization) 알고리즘을 이용한 적응 문턱전압검출기를 제안한다. 멀티레벨을 이용한 홀로그래픽 저장 장치의 경우 DC 오프셋의 정도에 따라 비적응 문턱전압검출기의 성능에 매우 심각한 영향을 미친다. EM 방법은 채널을 통과한 데이터를 이용해 Expectation step과 maximization step을 반복하면서 평균과 분산을 추정하는 방법이다. DC 오프셋이 있는 상황에서 제안된 방법을 적용하여 문턱값을 찾아내서 검출한 결과 일정한 한도 내의 DC 오프셋의 경우는 DC 오프셋이 없는 경우와 동일한 성능을 보였다.

  • In order to create a solid model more efficiently for a plastic or sheet metal product with a thin and constant thickness, various methods have been proposed up to now. One of the most typical approaches is to create a sheet model initially and then transform it into a solid model automatically for a given thickness. The sheet model as well as the transitive model in sheet modeling procedure is a non-manifold model. However, the previous methods adopted the boundary representations for a solid model as their topological framework. Thus, it is difficult to represent the exact adjacency relationship between topological entities and to implement the topological operations for sheet modeling and the transformation procedure of a sheet into a solid. In this paper, we proposed a sheet modeling system based on a non-manifold topological representation which can represent solids, sheets, wireframes, and their mixture. A set of generalized Euler operators for non-manifold topology as well as the sheet modeling capabilities including adding, bending, and punching functions are provided for easy modeling of sheet objects, and they are perfomed interactively with a two dimensional curve editor. Once a sheet model is completed, it can be transformed into a solid automatically. The transformation procedure is composed of the offset functions and the Boolean operations of sheet models, and it is even more comprehensive and easier to be implemented than the precious methods.

비정규 잡음에 강인한 OFDM 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법 (OFDM Frequency Offset Estimation Schemes Robust to the Non-Gaussian Noise)

  • 본 논문에서는 비정규 잡음 환경에서 orthogonal frequency division multiplexing 시스템의 주파수 옵셋을 신뢰성 있게 추정하는 기법들을 제안한다. 먼저 비정규 잡음을 복소 등방성 Cauchy 확률과정으로 모형화한 후 최대우도 (maximum-likelihood) 추정 기법을 제안하고, 또한 더 간단한 최대우도 추정 기반 준최적 추정 기법을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과를 통해 제안한 기법들이 기존의 기법들에 비해 비정규 잡음 환경에서 더 좋은 주파수 옵셋 추정 성능을 가질 뿐 아니라, 비정규 잡음 환경에서 강인함을 보인다.

  • The KOMPSAT-2 satellite is a push-broom system with MSC (Multi Spectral Camera) which contains a panchromatic band and four multi-spectral bands covering the spectral range from 450nm to 900nm. The PAN band is composed of six CCD array with 2528 pixels. And the MS band has one CCD array with 3792 pixels. Raw imagery generated from a push-broom sensor contains vertical streaks caused by variability in detector response, variability in lens falloff, pixel area, output amplifiers and especially electrical gain and offset. Relative radiometric calibration is necessary to account for the detector-to-detector non-uniformity in this raw imagery. Non-uniformity correction (NUC) is that the process of performing on-board relative correction of gain and offset for each pixel to improve data compressibility and to reduce banding and streaking from aggregation or re-sampling in the imagery. A relative gain and offset are calculated for each detector using scenes from uniform target area such as a large desert, forest, sea. In the NUC of KOMPSAT-2, The NUC table for each pixel are divided as HF NUC (high frequency NUC) and LF NUC (low frequency NUC) to apply to few restricted facts in the operating system ofKOMPSAT-2. This work presents the algorithm and process of NUC table generation and shows the imagery to compare with and without calibration.

오프셋 모형화 기법을 이용한 상호연관 시스템의 분산형 적응제어 (Decentralized Adaptive Control of Interconnected System using Off-Set Modeling)

  • In this paper, self tuning control of interconnected systems are dealt in view point of large scale system control. The plant model is given in MIMO ARMA procss. This process is simlified as independent SISO ARMA processes having offset terma, which are considered as effects of interconnections. In each decentralized system, self tuning controller with instrumental variable method is adopted. As a result, this algorithm enables the paramter estimation to be unbiased and non-drift. This controller contains a new implicit offset rejection technique. Simulation results consider well with the analysis in case of linear interconnection.

  • 주파수 부족 문제를 해결하기 위하여 무선 통신 환경을 인지하여 활용할 수 있는 인지 무선(cognitive radio: CR) 시스템이 크게 주목받고 있다. 이러한 CR 시스템을 위한 변조 기법으로서 (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing: OFDM) 기술이 가장 유력하게 제안되고 있다. 하지만 CR 시스템이 사용되는 주파수 대역에는 인위적인 충격성 잡음, 간섭 등으로 인한 비정규 잡음이 존재하며, 이로 인해 정규 잡음을 기반으로 하는 OFDM 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법들은 심각한 성능 저하를 겪는다. 본 논문에서는 OFDM 기반 CR 시스템을 위한 최대 우도 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법을 제안하였으며, 또한 적은 개수의 시행 값을 사용함으로써 낮은 복잡도를 갖는 준최적 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법을 제안하였다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 추정 기법들이 기존 추정 기법보다 비정규 충격성 잡음 환경에서 강인하고, 우수한 성능을 가짐을 확인하였다.

CDM사업을 대상으로 한 국내 온실가스 상쇄배출권의 잠재량 산정 및 정책 제언 (Analyzing the Potential of Offset Credits in the Korean Emission Trading Scheme Focusing on Clean Development Mechanism Projects)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential quantity of Korean Offset Credits (KOC) resulting from Certified Emission Reductions (CER) in 98 domestic Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects that were registered with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as of the end of 2016. Our results show that the total amount of potential KOC is 62,774 kt CO2eq. The potential KOC is only 23.4% of the total CER Issuance. During the first phase, this will be 3.2% of the allocated volume. This is because many projects are related to Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), HFC-23, and adipic acid N2O. There is a strong bias in some sectors and projects which could act as market distortion factors. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the target CDM project and activate non CDM offset projects. RPS projects bring fundamental changes to the energy sector, and it is worth reconsidering their acceptability. A wide variety of policy incentives are needed to address strong biases toward certain sectors and projects. The offset scheme has the advantage of allowing entities to reduce their GHG emissions cost effectively through a market mechanism as well as enabling more entities to participate in GHG reduction efforts both directly and indirectly. In contrast, having an inadequate offset scheme range and size might decrease the effort on GHG reduction or concentrate available resources on specific projects. As such, it is of paramount importance to design and operate the offset scheme in such a way that it reflects the situation of the country.

Joint Blind Parameter Estimation of Non-cooperative High-Order Modulated PCMA Signals

  • A joint blind parameter estimation algorithm based on minimum channel stability function aimed at the non-cooperative high-order modulated paired carrier multiple access (PCMA) signals is proposed. The method, which uses hierarchical search to estimate time delay, amplitude and frequency offset and the estimation of phase offset, including finite ambiguity, is presented simultaneously based on the derivation of the channel stability function. In this work, the structure of hierarchical iterative processing is used to enhance the performance of the algorithm, and the improved algorithm is used to reduce complexity. Compared with existing data-aided algorithms, this algorithm does not require a priori information. Therefore, it has significant advantage in solving the problem of blind parameter estimation of non-cooperative high-order modulated PCMA signals. Simulation results show the performance of the proposed algorithm is similar to the modified Cramer-Rao bound (MCRB) when the signal-to-noise ratio is larger than 16 dB. The simulation results also verify the practicality of the proposed algorithm.
