뇌파 분류에 유용한 주성분 특징 (On Useful Principal Component Features for EEG Classification)

  • EEG-based brain computer interface(BCI) provides a new communication channel between human brain and computer. EEG data is a multivariate time series so that hidden Markov model (HMM) might be a good choice for classification. However EEG is very noisy data and contains artifacts, so useful features mr expected to improve the performance of HMM. In this paper we addresses the usefulness of principal component features with Hidden Markov model (HHM). We show that some selected principal component features can suppress small noises and artifacts, hence improves classification performance. Experimental study for the classification of EEG data during imagination of a left, right up or down hand movement confirms the validity of our proposed method.

  • 본 논문에서는 기울기 추정오차잡음에 기인한 현 계수와 최적 계수와의 간격의 랜덤 변동이 유발하는 초과 자승평균오차(excess MSE)를 개별탭 LMS(ITLMS, Individual Tap LMS) 알고리듬에 대하여 유도하였으며, ITLMS 알고리듬의 초과 자승평균오차는 LMS 알고리듬 보다 항상 작거나 같음을 보였다. 페이딩 채널에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 초과자승오차에 대한 알고리듬의 성능을 나타내었고, 그 결과가 이론적으로 분석한 결과와 들어맞음을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 문맥의존 철자오류 교정은 통계 정보를 이용한 방법으로 통계적 언어처리에서 가장 널리 쓰이는 샤논(Shannon)이 발표한 노이지 채널 모형(noisy channel model)을 기반으로 한다. 선행연구에서 부족하였던 부분의 성능 향상을 위해 교정대상단어의 오류생성 및 통계 데이터의 저장 방식을 개선하여 Default 연산을 적용한 모델을 제안한다. 선행 연구의 모델은 교정대상단어의 오류생성 시 편집거리의 제약을 1로 하여 교정 실험을 하지만 제안한 모델은 같은 환경에서 더욱 높은 검출과 정확도를 보였으며, 오류단어의 편집거리(edit distance) 제약을 넓게 적용하더라도 신뢰도가 있는 검출과 교정을 보였다.

Reliable and Secure Voice Encryption over GSM Voice Channel

  • In this paper, we study and develope a special secure Dongle to be adapted in GSM SmartPhone for secure voice communication to the serial 20-pin connector in SmartPhone. We design and implement the Dongle module hardware, firmware, and software including cipher crypto-synchronization and cipher algorithm. Also we study and emulate the SmartPhone GUI software interface including communication software module to the Dongle. Finally, we analyze the performances of crypto-synchronization in some noisy environment and also we test the secure Dongle module.

PRS 및 49-QPRS 채널의 Trellis-Coded 변조 기술 (Trellis-Coded Modulation Techniques for PRS and 49-QPRS Channels)

  • In this paper, we consider trellis-coding techniques with the convolutional encoder R=k/(k+1) for improving the reliability of digital transimission over bandlimited noisy PRS and 49-QPRS channels. Employing the R=k/(k+1) convolutional code for the PRS channel results in over 3 dB of coding gain comparing with the baseline system. The trellis-coded 49-QPRS system can be realized by combining the 9-QPRS system with the R=1/2 convolutiona code, which can be improved by over 2dB coding gain comparing with the 9-QPRS system. In additin, we study a method of avoiding the occurance of unlimited runs of identical output to prevent operation of timing error.

  • In DS/SS systems it is necessary to synchronize the locally generated despreading signal with the received spreading signal to demodulate the received signal. The synch process between the two signals is usually accomplished in two steps : first acquisition then tracking. In this paper, an acquisition system aided by the neural network is proposed for the rapid and exact acquisition in DS/SS. the neural netowrk is composed o fthree-layered perpecptrons and trained by the backpropagation algorithm. The performance of the proposed system is analyzed and compared with ones of conventional systems using the sequential estimation technique under an additive while gaussian noisy channel. In all of th econsidered simulations, the proposed system outperforms conventional systems.

군 통신상에서 워터마킹 기술을 이용한 피아식별 방법 (Identifying Friendly and Foe Using a Watermarking Technique During Military Communication)

  • In this paper, a watermark technique for identifying friendly and foe is proposed during communication. The speech signal is processed in several stages. First, speech signal is partitioned into small time frames and the frames are transformed into frequency domain using DFT(Discrete Frequency Transform). The DFT coefficients are quantized and the watermark signal is embedded into the quantized DFT coefficients. At the destination channel quantization errors of received signal are regarded as the watermark signal. Identification of friendly and foe are done by correlating the detected watermark and the original watermark. As in most other watermark techniques, this method has a trade off between noise robustness and quality. However, this is solved by a partial quantization and a noise level dependent quantization step. Simulation results in the various noisy environments show that the proposed method is reliable for identification between friendly and foe.

A Performance Enhanced UHF RFID System with Modified I/Q Diversity Receiver

  • In this paper, we propose a modified I/Q diversity scheme receiver of UHF RFID reader system. The modified I/Q diversity receiver is more robust than the conventional homodyne receiver in the wireless noisy, fading channel and phase noise environments by making use of additional axes. In particular, it is shown that the closer the phase difference ${\theta}(t)$ between the reader and the tag to ${\pi}/4$, the larger performance improvement we can get. The performance of the proposed receiver is verified by equations and is demonstrated by the computer simulation for various difference ${\theta}(t)$ cases.

  • In general, the state of system can be effected by external noise and observed only through a noisy channel. Therefore we use the estimation technigue for the information of state of the system effected by noise. There are many filters such as kalman-Buchy filter, kalman filter, Extended Kalman filter algorithm, cononlinear, extended Kalman filter algorithm to the estimation of parameters is very useful and has a long history. Also a considerable number of applications of this method has been reported. In this paper, the robot control system is treated in stochastic optimal control because of the robots doing a complicated and accurate task in inapproate environment. We have conclusion that error covariance is converged and the stability of filtering is obtained.

잡음이 심한 채널에서 효율적인 데이터전송에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficient Data Transmission in Noisy Channels)

  • 본 논문은 에러가 많은 채널에서 Reed-Solomon 코드와 ARQ 시스템을 결합시킨 효율적인 데이터 전송에 관한 연구이다. (15,11)RS 코드가 1개의 에러만 정정하는 경우 디코더의 조합회로가 간단해지고 신뢰도에 문제가 발생하나 SR ARQ 방식과 결합하여 잡음이 심한 선로에서도 효율적인 통신이 되게 한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 한 개의 에러는 정정 가능하며, 네 개의 에러는 검출이 가능하여 재전송에 의해 올바르게 수신할 수 있었으며, 채널 에러율이 높을 때, ($10^{-1}$~$10^{-2}$) 일 때 가장 우수함을 알 수 있었다.
