디지탈 신호처리 기법을 이용한 맥동연소기의 소음원 규명에 관한 연구 (Noise Source Identification of a Pulse Combustion Burner Using Digital Signal Processing Techniques)

  • This paper presents a method for estimating the noise source contribution of a pulse combustion burner in a multiple input system where the input sources may be coherent each other. By coherence function method, it is found that the biggest part of the noise source in the pulse combustion burner is generated by the part of the combustion chamber. This analysis is modeled as three input / single output system because the noise generating mechanism of the pulse combustion burner is very complicated. The coherence function method is proved to be useful tool for the identification of noise source. The overall levels of the radiated source pressure by coherence function method are compared with those measured and calculated by the frequency response function approach. The experimental results have shown a good agreement with the results calculated by the coherence function method when the input sources are coherent strongly each other. The estimation of shield effect by FRF method indicates that significant reduction can be achieved in sound radiation if only transmission path generated by the part of combustion chamber is acoustically shield.

차음구조물의 방사음향파워로부터 고체 및 공기전파음향파워의 정량적인 분리법 (A Quantitative Separation Method of Structure and Air Borne Sound Power from the Enclosure)

  • Engine enclosures are widely adopted to reduce the noise emission in various fields of application. The radiated noise, which is due to the vibration of enclosure's outer surface, is composed of two kinds of sound power with different path of propagation. One is the 'structure-borne sound power' which stems from the engine's vibratory force applied to the structure of enclosure through the mounting parts of engine etc., while the other is the 'air-borne sound power' which is originated by the sound power radiated from the engine surface to the inner space of enclosure that should excite the vibration of enclosure from inside. In order to get a most efficient engine enclosure is required a profound consideration upon the above structure-borne and air-borne noise, since the guiding principle of countermeasure for each noise is quite different. The controlling of input vibration and its isolation are major subject for the structure-borne sound power and the specifications of absorbing member and damping panels are the major interests for the air-borne sound power. Hence it seems very efficient to separate the total sound power into two categories with a great accuracy when one think of further reduction of engine noise from the exciting enclosure, however, its separating methods have not been made clear for many years. Then author proposes a new practical separation method of two propagation path's contribution to the total radiation sound power for the enclosure under the engine operating condition.

투명방음판의 품질기준 설정에 관한 연구(2) - 음향 특성 및 내후성 평가 (Study on Quality Criteria for Transparent Soundproof Panels(2) - Sound Insulation Characteristics and Evaluation of Weatherability)

  • Transparent noise barrier panels have the advantages of transmitting light to nearby residents and allowing drivers to orientate themselves by providing views of the surrounding area. To develop guidelines on quality criteria for transparent soundproof panels, their sound transmission loss and weatherability were experimentally investigated. In Korea, the sound transmission loss of noise barrier panels should be more than 25 dB at 500 Hz and 30 dB at 1000 Hz. The transmission loss tests of transparent panels were performed in accordance with KS F 2808. Typically, plastic materials suffer from color changes when exposed to ultraviolet(UV) light over extended periods. Therefore, weathering of plastics is one of the most important properties for outdoor applications. Protection against UV radiation and weathering is usually accomplished by using UV stabilizer additives or coatings. Transparent materials for soundproof panels were examined through accelerated weathering tests and their weathering resistances were evaluated from changes in yellowness index.

흉부 및 복부에서 AEC 적용에 따른 MDCT의 선량 감소 효과 (Radiation Dose Reducing Effect during the AEC System in the Chest and Abdomen of the MDCT Scanning)

  • CT검사에 따른 방사선 선량의 유해성에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있어, 고정관전류기법과 AEC(automatic exposure control)를 적용하여 선량의 감소 효과를 비교하였다. 64MDCT를 이용하여 인체조직등가물질 팬텀으로 흉부 및 복부 부위를 고정관전류기법과 AEC를 적용하여 CTDIvol과 DLP를 비교하였고, 영상의 평가는 관심영역으로 CT감약계수와 노이즈를 측정하여 비교하였다. 흉부에서 고정관전류기법과 AEC적용에 따른 선량감소 효과는 CTDIvol 35.2%, DLP 49.3%, 복부에서는 CTDIvol 5.9%, DLP 3.2% 감소 효과가 있었다. CT검사에서 자동노출장치인 AEC를 이용하여 선량의 감소효과가 있다. CT 검사에 따른 환자의 피폭선량을 줄이기 위해서는 AEC를 이용하여야 한다.

무작위로 거친 표면에서의 후방복사 초음파 (Ultrasonic Backward Radiation on Randomly Rough Surface)

  • 표면 거칠기가 다른 유리시편에 대해 후방 복사된 초음파 세기의 입사각 의존성(프로파일)이 측정되었다. 후방복사 세기와 레일리(Rayleigh) 표면파 속도는 표면 거칠기에 비례하였고 이 경향은 각기 초음파의 산란규칙과 경화현상으로 설명되었다. 후방복사 프로파일의 면적 역시 표면 거칠기에 민감함을 보여 표면상태에 대한 새로운 비파괴적 평가 변수의 가능성을 보였다. 레일리 각 C-스캔 기법은 화상 명도의 반전과 높은 신호대 잡음비(S/N)를 보여주었다.

Feasibility study of multiplexing method using digital signal encoding technique

  • Radiation imaging systems consisting of a large number of channels greatly benefit from multiplexing methods to reduce the number of channels with minimizing the system complexity and development cost. In conventional pixelated radiation detector modules, such as anger logic, is used to reduce a large number of channels that transmit signals to a data acquisition system. However, these methods have limitations of electrical noise and distortion at the detector edge. To solve these problems, a multiplexing concept using a digital signal encoding technique based on a time delay method for signals from detectors was developed in this study. The digital encoding multiplexing (DEM) method was developed based on the time-over-threshold (ToT) method to provide more information including the activation time, position, and energy in one-bit line. This is the major advantage of the DEM method as compared with the traditional ToT method providing only energy information. The energy was measured and calibrated by the ToT method. The energy resolution and coincidence time resolution were observed as 16% and 2.4 ns, respectively, with DEM. The position was successfully distributed on each channel. This study demonstrated the feasibility that DEM was useful to reduce the number of detector channels.

Effects of collimator on imaging performance of Yttrium-90 Bremsstrahlung photons: Monte Carlo simulation

  • Yttrium-90 is a useful therapeutic radioisotope for tumor treatment because of its high-energy-emitting beta rays. However, it has been difficult to select appropriate collimators and main energy windows for Y-90 Bremsstrahlung imaging using gamma cameras because of the broad energy spectra of Y-90. We used a Monte Carlo simulation to investigate the effects of collimator selection and energy windows on Y-90 Bremsstrahlung imaging. We considered both MELP and HE collimators. Various phantoms were employed in the simulation to determine the main energy window using primary-to-scatter ratios (PSRs). Imaging performance was evaluated using spatial resolution indices, imaging counts, scatter fractions, and contrast-to-noise ratios. Collimator choice slightly affected energy spectrum shapes and improved PSRs. The HE collimator performed better than the MELP collimator on all imaging performance indices (except for imaging count). We observed minor differences in SR and SF values for the HE collimator among the five simulated energy windows. The combination of an HE collimator and improved-PSR energy window produced the best CNR value. In conclusion, appropriate collimator selection is an important component of Bremsstrahlung Y-90 photon imaging and main energy window determination. We found HE collimators to be more appropriate for improving the imaging performance of Bremsstrahlung Y-90 photons.

애자의 소음 분석을 통한 애자 고장 탐지 가능성 연구 (A Study on Possibility of Detection of Insulators' Faults by Analyses of Radiation Noises from Insulators)

  • 애자는 송전선 시스템에서 전기적으로나 기계적으로 매우 중요한 소자이다. 송전선 시스템에 설치된 이후 애자의 열화 등에 의해 고장이 난 애자를 찾아내기 위해 애자로 부터의 방사 소음을 측정하여 분석하였다. 대상으로 한 제품은 2종류의 현수 애자, COS, 2종류의 Line Poster, 피뢰기이며, 이들 제품의 정상 상태와 고장 상태의 방사 소음을 각각 측정하여 시간 파형, 주파수 스펙트럼, 피크 검출의 결과를 서로 비교하여 그 차이점을 제시하였다. 또한, 이를 바탕으로 방사 소음으로부터 고장 상태의 애자의 검출의 가능성 및 그 방법을 제시하였다.

굴삭기 냉각팬 성능해석 및 슈라우드 특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Cooling Fan Performance Analysis and Shroud Characteristics for an Excavator)

  • In this paper, the performance analysis is experimentally carried out in order to select the best cooling fan and shroud considering both cooling performance and noise reduction. 4 cooling fans have been tested in the fan tester and the real excavator. In order to obtain the performance of the cooling fans, flow capacity has been estimated by measuring flow velocity using a hot wire anemometer, and noise radiation has been also measured to estimate the fan noise. Characteristics of a box-type and a streamlined shroud have been examined by changing the immersion depth of cooling fans. Based upon the results, the best cooling fan is selected. Finally, the criterion to select the best cooling fan has been set up.

  • To leading subway technology Advanced Urban Transit System is developed by national research and development. Next-generation trains equipped with direct driving permanent magnet traction motor and individually controlled propulsion system. Electromagnetic properties of the Next-Generation Train from four perspectives will be discussed. The first is closely related to human hazards that affect the 60Hz low frequency electromagnetic field. The Second is inductive noise that affect railroad signal system. The third is conductive noise that affect communication line near railroad. The 4th is radiation noise that may affect electronic equipment near the railroad tracks.
