The evaluation of coded error probabilities for antijam communication systems is usually difficult to do and, thus, easy-to-evaluate upper bounds are used. Since it is relatively easy to evaluate the cutoff rate for the coding channel, the coded bit error bounds for most antijam systems of interest can be easily expressed directly in terms of this cutoff rate parameter using the relationship between the bit error bounds and cutoff rate for AWGN channel. The key feature of these bounds is the decoupling of the coding aspects of the system from the remaining part of the communication system which includes jamming, suboptimum detectors, and arbitrary decoding metrics which may or may not use jammer state knowledge. In this paper the bit error bounds for the Trumpis coded FH/MFSK with an AWGN channel are translated into the corresponding bit error bounds for boradband and partial band noise jammer. And the impact of the side information about jammer state is also evaluated with these upper bounds. Although it is considered for the soft decision detector, it is also applicable to the hard decision detector.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) has become popular and widely used in many fields from military to civilian applications. However, GPS signals are suffered from interference due to its weak signal over wireless channel. There are many types of interference, such as jamming, blocking multipath, and spoofing, which can mislead the operation of GPS receiver. In this paper, vector-based tracking loop model with integrity check is proposed to detect and mitigate the harmful effect of interference on GPS receiver operation. The suggested methods are implemented in the tracking loop of GPS receiver. As a first method, integrity check with carrier-to-noise ratio (C/No) monitoring technique is applied to detect the presence of interference and prevent contaminated channels out of tracking channels to calculate position. As a second method, a vector-based tracking loop using Extended Kalman Filter with adaptive noise covariance according to C/No monitoring results. The proposed methods have been implemented on simulated dataset. The results demonstrates that the suggested methods significantly mitigate interference of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and improve position calculation by 44%.
Clocks for time synchronization using radio signals such as global navigation satellite system (GNSS) may lose reference signals by intentional or unintentional jamming. This is called as holdover. When holdover occurs, a clock goes into free run in which synchronization performance is degraded considerably. In order to maintain the required precise time synchronization during holdover, accurate estimation on main parameters such as frequency offset and frequency drift is needed. It is necessary to implement an optimum filter through various simulation tests by creating clock noise in accordance with given specifications in order to estimate the main parameters accurately. In this paper, a method that creates clock noise in accordance with given specifications is described.

The media transport systems, such as printers, copiers, facsimile, ATMs, cameras, etc., have been widely used and being developed rapidly. In the development of those systems, the media feeding mechanism is an important key technology for the design and development of the media transport systems. In this paper, a multi-degree of freedom sheet model with dynamic contact conditions is presented to understand the mechanism of sticking and jamming. A sheet is modelled as a cantilever beam and the feeding velocity is assumed to be constant. The relation between the feeding velocity and the coefficient of friction for guaranteeing stable feeding is presented. Simulations are performed for a horizontal linear guide and a oblique linear guide, calculating the contact force and contact states of mass points.

The track radar use the range track loop to track the target range. The bandwidth of the radar range tracker can be determined by tradeoff according to signal to noise ratio and the target range. On the other hand, electronic warfare is carried out to prevent the radar from tracking targets by electronic attack. The deception or noise jamming in electronic warfare can be performed to interfere with the range track loop of the radar. In order to efficiently perform electronic warfare, the bandwidth in radar tracking loop is estimated and can be used for electronic attack. To do this, we have studied the method of estimating the bandwidth of radar tracking loop using the variables that can be gathered in electronic warfare.

OSPF is the optimized routing protocol in wired network and considered as a tactical routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. However because it is designed basically based on wired environment, it runs inadequately in wireless tactical environment: noise and jamming signal. So, we proposed new OSPF cost function to develop active routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. In redefined cost function, there are four parameters that are relative transmission speed, link weight, router utilization, link average BER(Bit Error Rate). These parameters reflect wireless tactical characters. Also, we remodel the option field in Hello packet. It can help user to periodically check the link state. From the simulation result, it is shown that proposed OSPF is better than OSPF in jamming situation and has accumulative delay gain with dispersion of traffic load in entire network.

The Global Positioning System (GPS), Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Pseudolite (PL) technologies all play very important roles in navigation systems. As an independent navigation system, GPS can provide high precision positioning results which are independent of time. However, the performance will become unreliable when the system experiences high dynamics, or when the receiver is exposed to jamming or RF interference. In comparison to GPS, though INS is autonomous and provides good short-term accuracy, its use as a standalone navigation system is limited due to the time-dependent growth of the inertial sensor errors. PLs are ground-based transmitters that can transmit GPS-like signals. They have some advantages in that their positions can be determined precisely, and the Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNR) are relatively high. Because their combined performance, in principle, overcomes the shortcomings of the individual systems, the integration of GPS, INS and PL is increasingly receiving attention from researchers. Depending on the desired performance vs complexity, system integration can be carried out at different levels, namely loose, tight and ultra-tight coupling. Compared with loose and tight integration, although it is more complex in terms of system design, ultra-tight integration will be the basis of the next generation of reliable and robust navigation systems. Its main advantages include improved performance under exposure to high dynamics, and jamming and RF interference mitigation. This paper presents an overview of the ultra-tight integration developments and discusses some of the challenging issues.

This paper deals with the variation of the effective detectability factor fo logarithmic receiver in noise interference environment. The computed results as a function of maximum detection range and jamming range were compared with the effective detectability factor for linear receiver. Even though the logarithmic receiver has a wide dynamic characteristics, it is found that the effective detectability factor being reduced about 15% than the linear receiver at 100 KM range.

GNSS receiver which uses the weak satellite signal is very vulnerable to the intentional jamming or non-intentional electromagnetic interference. One of the best method to overcome this disadvantage is to use an adaptive array antenna which has the capability of beamforming or nulling to the certain direction. In this paper, the performance of spatial adaptive null pattern control algorithm of 5 element array antenna is analyzed. A control algorithm which is designed in the 5 element array antenna is OPM(Output Power Minimization) which is eliminating the correlation characteristics between a reference antenna and the others. This algorithm can be applied effectively to the satellite navigation's CRPA because the satellite direction is not considered and GNSS signal power is below the thermal noise. The feature of the OPM algorithm is analyzed and the performance is compared with other null pattern control algorithm.

In this paper, we have described a Simulated Radar Target Generation Equipment(SRTGE) for evaluating the performance of a developed radar system. In order to change a simulated target range(or time delay), the variable optical delay line structure is used in SRTGE, In addition, SRTGE is required to generate a target return signal which is composed of variable amplitude and Doppler velocity. The interference such as noise jamming and clutter is also produced from SRTGE for evaluating ECCM(Electronic-Counter-Counter Measure) capability of radar.
