About 20% of non-Hodgkin' lymphoma occur in the extra-nodal region in the head and neck area and more than half of extra-nodal lymphoma in the head and neck area involves the Waldeyer' ring. Malignant lymphoma arising in the parotid glands are relatively rare, although 90% of all salivary gland lymphomas, appear in parotid gland and are classified as extranodal non Hodgkin' lymphoma. We experienced one rare case of non-Hodgkin' lymphoma in the right parotid gland, with a painless swelling of the cheek region as the chief complaint. We treated with CHOP(cyclophosphamide, $750mg/m^2$ i.v. day1 ; doxorubicin, $50mg/m^2$ i.v. day 1 ; vincristine, $1.4mg/m^2$ i.v. day 1;prednisone, $50mg/m^2$ orally days 1 to 5. repeat every 21 days) and Rituximab combination therapy. We aimed to report here one case of non-Hodgkin' lymphoma in the right parotid gland with review of literature.

In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a very flexible cable due to moving multibody system along its length is presented. The very deformable motion of a cable is presented using absolute nodal coordinate formulation, which is based on the finite element procedures and the general continuum mechanics theory to represent the elastic forces. Formulation for the sliding joint between a very flexible beam and a rigid body is derived. In order to formulate the constraint equations of this joint, a non-generalized coordinate, which has no inertia or forces associated with this coordinate, is used. The modeling of this sliding joint is very important to many mechanical applications such as the ski lifts. cable cars, and pulley systems. A multibody system moves along an elastic cable using this sliding joint. A numerical example is shownusing the developed analysis program for flexible multibody systems that include a large deformable cable.

During most of manufacturing processes of auto-body panels, the trimming line should be designed in advance prior to flanging. It is an important task to find a feasible trimming line to obtain a precise final part shape after flanging. This paper proposes a new fast method to find feasible trimming line based on one-step analysis. The basic idea of the one-step analysis is to seek for the nodal positions in the initial blank from the final part, and then the distribution of strain, stress and thickness in the final configuration can be calculated by comparing the nodal position in the initial blank sheet with the one of the final part. The one-step analysis method is able to predict the trimming line before flanging since the desired product shape after flanging can be defined from the final configuration and most of strain paths are simple during the flanging process. Finally, designers can obtain a discrete trimming line from the boundary of the developed meshes after one-step analysis and import it into CAD system in the early design stage. The proposed method has been successfully applied to two basic curve flanging processes demonstrating many advantages.
A new theory of weightless sagging planer elasto-flexible cables under point loads is developed earlier by the authors and used for predicting the nonlinear dynamic response of cable-suspended linear elastic beams. However, this theory is not valid for nonlinear elastic cracked concrete beams possessing different positive and negative flexural rigidity. In the present paper, the flexural response of simply supported cracked concrete beams suspended from cables by two hangers is presented. Following a procedure established earlier, rate-type constitutive equations and third order nonlinear differential equations of motion for the structures undergoing small elastic displacements are derived. Upon general quasi-static loading, negative nodal forces, moments and support reactions may be introduced in the cable-suspended concrete beams and linear modal frequencies may abruptly change. Subharmonic resonances are predicted under harmonic loading. Uncoupling of the nodal response is proposed as a more general criterion of crossover phenomenon. Significance of the bilinearity ratio of the concrete beam and elasto-configurational displacements of the cable for the structural response is brought out. The relevance of the proposed theory for the analysis and the design of the cable-suspended bridges is critically evaluated.

Background: Prognostication of breast cancer using clinico-pathologic variables, although useful, remains imperfect. Recent research has focused on finding new markers of prognosis using gene expression profiling. Panels of proteins assessed by immunohistochemistry might also be useful in this regard. This study focused on Bcl-2 protein expression in triple-negative (TNBC) and non- triple-negative breast cancer (non-TNBC) with correlation to clinico-pathologic variables. Materials and methods: We analyzed Bcl-2 expression in 77 women with primary breast carcinoma divided into two groups; triple-negative and non- triple-negative according to expression of estrogen (ER), progesterone (PR) and human epidermal growth factor receptors (Her2/neu). Bcl-2 expression was assessed in relation to age, histo-pathological subtype, grade, nodal status and tumor size. Results: Bcl-2 was expressed in 74% of triple-negative breast cancers and 70% of non- triple-negative cancers. In TNBC, expression was significantly correlated with invasive ductal subtype, while in non-TNBC it was significantly correlated with age and negative nodal status. In both groups higher Bcl-2 expression associated with favourable prognostic factors in breast cancer, but no significant statistical correlations were found. Conclusions: Frequency of Bcl-2 expression does not differ between TNBC and non-TNBC, but different prognostic factors correlate with Bcl-2 in the two cases.

Purpose: We determined the therapeutic effects of blockade of epidermal growth factor(EGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) receptor tyrosine kinases on the growth of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) xenografted in athymic nude mice. Experimental Design: We investigated the in vivo antitumor effects of a tyrosine kinase inhibitor for EGFR and VEGFR-2, AEE788 in a mouth floor(orthotopic) tumor model. Nude mice with orthotopic tumors were randomized to receive AEE788, paclitaxel, a combination of AEE788 and paclitaxel, or control. Antitumor mechanisms of AEE788 were determined by immunohistochemical/immunofluorescent and apoptosis assays. Results: Tumors of mice treated with AEE788 demonstrated down-regulation of phosphorylated EGFR, phosphorylated VEGFR and their downstream mediators(pMAPK and pAkt), decreased proliferative index, decreased microvessel density(MVD). As a result, growth of the primary tumor and nodal metastatic potentials were inhibited by AEE788. Conclusion: These data show that EGFR and VEGFR can be molecular targets for the treatment of OSCC.

The size distributions of smoke particles from fire are prerequisite for the studies on fire detection and adverse health effects. Above the flame of the fire, coagulation dominates and the smoke particles grow from 1 to 50 nm up to 100 to 3,000 nm, sizes ranging from the free-molecular regime to the continuum regime. The characteristics of the agglomeration of the smoke particles are well known, independently for each of the free-molecular and continuum regimes. However, there are not many systematic studies in the entire regime by the complexity of the mechanisms. The purpose of this work is to find the characteristics of the development of the size distribution of smoke particles by agglomeration in the entire size range covering the free-molecular regime, via transition regime, to the near-continuum and continuum regime for each variation of parameters such as fractal dimension, primary particle size and dimensionless coagulation time. In this work, the dynamic equation for the discrete-size spectrum of the particles was solved using a nodal method based on the modification of a sectional method. In the calculation, the collision frequency function for the entire regime, which is derived by using the concept of collision volume and general enhancement function, was applied. The self-preserving size distribution for the entire regime is compared with the ones for the free-molecular or continuum regimes for each variation of the parameters.
Pongamia pinnata Pierre is a tree legume, having potential in production of raw material for biodiesel. A protocol for in wk propagation of this plant was standardized using seedling explants. Growth regulators (GR) including gibberellic acid $(GA_3),\;N^6-benzylaminopurine(BA)$, thidiazuron (TDZ), and Adenine sulphate (Ads) were tested for optimum germination of seeds. Removal of seed coat prior to germination, controlled fungal growth partially but enhanced bacterial growth. Antibiotic cefotaxime was ineffective in controlling bacterial contamination. Seedling derived nodal explants and cotyledon nodes with attached cotyledons were excised and cultured for induction of shoots. Optimum sprouting and multiplication of shoot buds were obtained in MS medium supplemented with $8.88{\mu}M$ BA. These buds differentiated and rooted on medium devoid of GR. Optimum growth of Pongamia seedling was obtained in cotton plugged culture vessels. Reculturing of the cotyledon node explants produced more shoots from the same site. This process of removing shoots and reculturing of cotyledon node was followed for eight passages yielding 4 to 8 shoots in each cycle. The shoots (75%) rooted on half strength MS basal medium supplemented with 0.22% charcoal. All plants survived on transfer to soil. This is the first report on in vitro regeneration of Pongamia pinnata. This report demonstrates the possibility of coupling more than one parameter in single experiment to hasten the process of standardization. The process of cycling the nodal explant repeatedly for production of large number of shoots from single meristem may find application in genetic transformation experiments wherein meristems are used for transformation.
A previous study showed that the handle vibration of a walking type cultivator can be reduced by adding a mass to the handle. This study was conducted to determine the optimum magnitude and location of the mass to be added for the same cultivator. The possible locations of added mass were determined by investigating nodal points of the handle vibration by an ODS (operational deflection shapes) test at an engine frequency of 52 Hz. The optimum location was then determined as one that moved the nodal points to the hand grip of the handle bar. To determine the optimum magnitude of the mass, the possible locations were added by a mass from 0.2 to 2.0 kg in an increment of 0.2 kg. The optimum magnitude was then determined as a mass which minimized the vibration level at the hand grip. For the case of this study, the z-axis vibration at the hand grip was reduced from $2.67m/s^2\;to\;0.88m/s^2$ resulting in a reduction of 67% and the total vibration from $4.09m/s^2\;to\;3.27m/s^2$ resulting in a 20% reduction by adding an optimum mass to the optimum location.

A new method of optimal blank shape design using the initial nodal velocity (INOV) has been proposed for the drawings of arbitrary shaped cups. With the given information of tool shape and the final product shape, corresponding initial blank shape has been found from the motion of boundary nodes. Although the sensitivity method, the past work of Hynbo Shim and Kichan Son, has been proved to be excellent method to find optimal blank shapes, the method has a problem that a couple of deformation analysis is required at each design step and it also exhibits an abnormal behaviors in the rigid body rotation prevailing region. In the present method INOV, only a single deformation analysis per each design stage is required. Drawings of practical products as well as oil-pan have been chosen as the examples. At every case the optimal blank shapes have been obtained only after a few times of modification without predetermined deformation path. The deformed shape with predicted optimal blank almost coincides with the target shape at every case. Through the investigation the INOV is found to be very effective in the arbitrary shaped drawing process design.
