A pesticide monitoring study was undertaken for the strawberry and cucumber samples collected from plastic film houses and additional strawberries from supermarkets located in Seoul city in 1983 to evaluate pesticide residues in these food commodities and also to give basic informations in establishing maximum residue limits. Organophosphorus insecticides were not detected in any cucumber samples except that diazinon found with low residue levels in two strawberry samples. Fungicide procymidone and chlorothalonil were detected with considerable high frequencies in these vegetables while their residue levels were fairly low. Even the maximum residue levels. they were much lower than maximum residue limits established in these vegetables in Environment Administration. Korea. Of the strawberries from supermarkets in Seoul city, procymidone, chlorthalonil and dichlofluanid fungicides were also detected with similar detection frequencies and residue levels to those from the plas tic film houses. By washing the strawberries with tap water, the residues were removed from 38% to 95% of the total residues. Presently, it is considered that pesticide residues in strawberry and cucumber may be no harmfullevels for food commodities.
For the Effective utilization of the fish resources in coastal regions, investigations on preparation of powdered dried arkshell instant soup., quality stability of the products during storage and utilization as a food material were carried out with arkshell, Anadara broughtonii. Three kinds of powdered instant soup were prespared as 0% table salt(A), 5% table salt (B), 15% table salt(C) and packed with vacuum in laminated film bag. (polyester/nylon: 85${mu}ell$/15${mu}ell$, 18$\times$27cm) Their processing conditions and quality stability during storage at room temperature for 90 days were examined. Powdered instant soup was made by washing raw arkshell to remove visceral, clay, sand and blood, hot air drying(60$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 20 hrs) after draining and pulverizing dried arkshell to 35 mesh. Powdered instant soup was made by adding 2% sugar 0% table salt (5% and 15% table salt), 10.5% monosodium glutamate, 0.3% black pepper and 0.3% garlic powder to the pulverized dried arkshell. The condition of moisture and water activity of the products were 5.9-6.9% and 0.42-0.43, respectively. The moisture content s , water activity and pH of the products were showed little change and volatile basic nitrogen of them increased slightly during storage. Thiobarbituric acid value increased up to 60 days of storage and then decreased slightly. In solubility, powdered instant soup were showed no remarkable difference comparing with goods on the market. The color value of th products were showed little change during storage, In sensory evaluation, product B were scored slightly higher, in most cased, in flaver, color. taste and overall acceptability comparing with product A or product C during storage. Judiging form the sensory evaluation, powdered instant soup of 5% table salt (B) were the most desirable, and the quality of the products was stable for 90 days at 20$\pm$3$^{\circ}C$.
Most bacteria form biofilm as self-defence system, making efficient food sanitization, preservation, and instrument washing more difficult. Biofilm formation of Salmonella, E. coli, B. cereus, and S. aureus was observed during 24 hr food preservations by performing microtiter plate and glass wool assays. Most cells formed biofilm and attached onto glass wool. When biofilm formation and injury were analyzed on the microtiter plate, 10 and 20% acid-injured E. coli and S. aureus, respectively, 30-50% cold temperature $(4^{\circ}C)-injured$ B. cereus and E. coli, and 30-55% 6% sodium chloride solution-injured Salmonella showed significant biofilm formation. Results indicate biofilm formation level differed within species depending on type of stress.
The results of the survey on water utilization status, the wasted water factor, the awareness, and the education and promotional activities of water saving in Daejeon City are as follows: The percentage of using tap valve with a closure was 66% when showering. 74% of water was used with closing the tap valve when washing faces with no water needed, it was still considered that there existed a wasting water. The most wasting reasons of water were found to be shower, bath, and laundry in order. In the awareness of practicing tap water saving, 9.1% of respondents acted actively, 53.4% of them were trying to practice it, and more than 63% had a positive awareness. In the contents of practicing saving water, locking water when soaping while showering, non-laundry of small quantity, and using cups when brushing teeth were top priorities. About 50% of the reasons for saving water was to practice purely saving water, when saving for economic help was excluded. The level of water saving awareness was not high when considering that the ratio of usage without water saving equipment and installation, and using method was relatively high when moving in. In order to make usage of water saving equipment more common, it was deemed necessary to provide information on the purchase of water saving equipment and to promote and educate the efficiency of saving of related products. More than about 90% of the respondents responded that water saving education or promotional activities had an effect of improving water saving awareness. The most effective method of education and promotional activities was found to be 40.4% by mass media activities, and 21.7% by promotions through mobile devices.

Objectives : To maintain a healthy skin condition, the role of moisture in the stratum corneum is important. We use soap in our daily life, so we wanted to observe the changes of the skin moisture using herbal CP soap. Four kinds of herbal CP soaps were prepared and their effects on skin moisture were compared. Methods: We surveyed 39 students at A University to determine their subjective skin condition, lifestyle and washing habits. Then, a facial analysis test was performed. We made herbal CP soaps using Kyungohkgo, Hwangryunhaedoktang, Seosiokyongsan and Baeksoooh and distributed them to experiment participants. Prior to the experiment, their skin condition was checked and skin condition was assessed using Facial Diagnosis System three times in total. After the experiment, the change of skin was measured and analyzed. Results: As a result of examining the skin moisture according to the using of the herbal CP soap by the participants, the skin moisture was gradually increased compared with before use. The moisture content increased after 6 weeks of use compared to before using Seosiokyongsan, Hwangryunhaedoktang, Kyungohkgo CP soap compared to before use. But there was no significant difference between 3 weeks and 6 weeks of use compared to before use. As a result of using Baeksoo-oh CP soap, the skin moisture of the experimental participants was continuously increased. Conclusion: Natural CP soaps are believed to have a beneficial effect in increasing the moisture content of facial skin.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to show effectiveness of Korean medicine external treatment on bacterial vaginosis by analyzing randomized controlled clinical trials. To develop an antibacterial tempered glass for applications to various building facilities and household products, the antibacterial activity of domestic materials was investigated, and a tempered glass sample was produced with silver, copper, and zinc, having an antibacterial activity of 99% or more at a specific concentration. The measured antibacterial activity of the samples, in which silver, copper, and zinc were dispersed in ethylene glycol + glycerol, was more than 99%. Measurements of the thickness of the coated metal material by washing using a surface analyzer showed that the thickness decreased by less than 1% in various types of detergents, including water, but only approximately 10% in the alkaline detergents. To check the human safety of the samples, a cytotoxicity test was performed through an MTT assay; the samples showed no cytotoxicity. Finally, a Live/Dead kit or film adhesion method showed that the antibacterial activity of the prototype was more than 99%. Therefore, the high-functional antibacterial effect of tempered glass was developed using domestic materials and may be used in various products in the future.
This study investigates and analyzes user preferences for golf wear with a sense of wear and smart function for the development of smart golf wear based on user convenience. A survey was conducted on 124 males in the age range of 40-60s that consisted of professional golfers, amateur golfers and the public with golf experience (such as major golf consumers) from August 1 to August 30, 2019 (IRB NO. 1040198-190617-HR-057-03); consequently, a 117 copies were accepted for analysis. The findings are as follows. The elbow (4.3%) of golf wear is unsatisfactory. The important part of the golf swing motion is the shoulder (39.3)>, elbow (30.8%)>, and wrist (6.8%). In addition, the unsatisfactory wearing of golf wear due to golf swing movements indicated that the shoulder or elbow area was pulled or the bottom of the top was raised during the back swing movements. The survey results on the expected discomfort when wearing smart wear are 'discomfort of obstruction when wearing' (53.8%), 'discomfort of washing' (17.1%), and 'weight of attached machine' (13.7%). Opinions such as 'Will not feel good when the sensor is attached' were investigated. The examination of the preference for golf wear equipped with smart functions indicated that a posture correction function to correct the golf swing posture is the most desired quality that is also considered important when correcting posture.
The green premium is the most important feature of Korea's RE100 system. Green premium has three characteristics. The first, the cost of implementation is lower than that of other means of implementation. The second, it is linked with the RPS system to keep the means of implementing the green premium low. Third, the funds raised by the green premium are used to supply renewable energy to compensate for the additionality that the green premium does not have. When the entire industrial sector's electricity consumption is converted to renewable energy, the implementation cost of the green premium is estimated to be 3,377.4 billion won, and the REC purchase is estimated to incur the implementation cost of 6,576.4 billion won, which is 3.5 trillion more than the green premium. It was analyzed that an additional implementation cost of KRW 100 million would occur. In addition, in the case of solar PPA, it was analyzed that additional implementation costs of KRW 13,375.7 billion to KRW 16,162.3 billion were incurred. It was estimated that the renewable energy that could be supplied to the green premium would at least be sufficient for companies exporting to the US and EU. In addition, it was analyzed that when the fund created as a green premium is used for renewable energy supply, about 30.7% of the renewable energy supply through PPA can be supplied. However, as ESG is emphasized, green premium can be criticized by green washing because there is no additionality. There is also a limit to responding to the EU's CBAM. Therefore, companies can use the green premium depending on the situation, but it is more advantageous to use PPA, etc. The government needs to sufficiently maintain the supply of renewable energy using the fund to maintain the green premium.
In this study, natural dyeing using Polygonum tinctoria was performed with linen, ramie, and hemp, which are biodegradable cellulose fibers, considering environmental aspects. In particular, the impacts of alkali NaOH and reducing agent Na2S2O4 were examined, and the possibilities of minimizing the use and reusing the dye were explored. The surface dye concentrations were found to be in the following order: hemp>linen>ramie. With the increase in all additives, the L* value decreased, and the ⊿E and K/S values increased gradually. When Na2S2O4 was 1g/L, the surface color of the dye appeared uniformly from the NaOH concentration of 0.4g/L (pH 10.84). When NaOH was 0.4g/L, the K/S values of linen and ramie increased rapidly after 0.4g/L of Na2S2O4, and hemp maintained a stable color from 0.6g/L of Na2S2O4. With the increase in the dye concentration from 1 to 6g/L, all the fibers were dyed uniformly. The K/S value increased or higher doubled upon repeated dyeing six times for 5 min than when dyed only once for 30 min. Therefore, the linen, ramie, and hemp fibers dyed repeatedly exhibited good washing, rubbing, and colorfastness to perspiration, which was rated between 4 and 4-5, and that to light was rated as 5. Moreover, no discoloration due to sunlight was observed. Finally, linen exhibited a bacterial reduction of 99.9%, thereby indicating its excellent antibacterial property.
